Ted’s mom calling herself Mrs Wiggins despite having no husband would seem to imply she’s a widow. It’s possible that she divorced O’Hare, remarried and then her second husband died, all while Ted was very young. If Bernice suspects O’Hare had her second husband killed, then her fear of him makes a lot of sense. It would also make sense why she doesn’t seem to have any interest in finding a partner during the film. Husband #2 may have spoken out against O’Hare, or simply made him jealous, but either way he’s gone and no one is eager to bring him up.
I would assume, but it’s confusing why she kept her maiden name if she still wants to honour a dead husband with the “Mrs” title and we see no sign of an honoured husband

I seriously cannot believe that all these years later you are still uncovering mind-boggling reality-shifting hidden truths behind the freaking animated Lorax movie from 2012
See I really was wondering the whole movie why the onceler never just planted the seed, I mean I know it's supposed to be that the soil was ruined, but that can't be true do to the onceler still being able to be alive and BREATHING! The whole movie was full of these hidden details just WAITING for someone like you (The Theorizer) to retell this story in the true, yet dark way. It's always a good day when you upload!
A friendgroup of mine has this really elaborate injoke comparing The Lorax to that of the story of the garden of eden, was pleasantly surprised to see this theory really nicely complement that. EDIT: OKAY, seeing other people share this exact sentiment was eye-opening and it made me want to directly state what brought about biblical lorax becoming an injoke, that being a specific part in Biggering, where the Lorax states that the Onceler’s real problem isn’t greed, but *pride*. “But you know, you really can't blame greed No, that's stupid You see, it's gotta worm inside Oh yeah, that's right It's one that always needs to feed and it is never satisfied You get it? But the more you try to find it The more it likes to hide Now listen, that is a nasty, little worm And I like to call it pride” the personification of pride as a small, legless, crawling animal set off a lightbulb and the next thing we knew we were jokingly talking about how this was an elaborate metaphor for the snake in the garden of eden. This is an incredibly loose point made mostly in jest but the thought of this stupid injoke actually being mentioned in a theorizer video was enough of a motivator for me to type this all up.
I always assumed o'hair just got the air elsewhere. All the animals went away so they probably went somewhere. Also, the more convincing evidence, the onceler found the trufula trees through traveling. That means that there's other places without trufula trees, and that means other ways of getting oxygen. The onceler also had an axe before he knew about trufula trees, so theres other types of trees that would still exist.
My mom’s most frequently asked question about Nightmare Before Christmas always was ‘why didn’t Santa use that power before Oogey Boogey nearly killed him?’ What does that have to do with this theory? Well the first words I thought of when she asked that was ‘THAT’S NOT HOW IT WORKS!’ Just like the Lorax says about his own powers. I wonder if Santa was trying to teach that same lesson to Halloween town by LETTING IT ALL HAPPEN?
I love these kinds of theories where it all turns out to be a messed up family story, with the character all being connected in some way. And it makes too much sense, too
I think the Lorax is probably Cy the O’Hare Delivery Guy. The flashbacks seem to imply that O’Hare is just another Onceler style capitalist who started out innocent but was corrupted by money and power. Audrey is too young, for her to be the Lorax, he would have had to decided to become a lost child and hope to be adopted, or possibly dispose of an actual child and replace her, which seems harsh considering that he was opposed to drowning the Onceler. Cy has no backstory and would have been an adult when the town was incorporated. He is the first townsperson to say that the trees are worth a chance at the climax of the movie, actually calls O’Hare a “greedy dirtbag” and he has the exact same mustache as the Lorax. As a delivery man he can enter every house in town and monitor the people. He could have been the one to tell Audrey about the trees and he could have “found” a seed for O’Hare back in the day and given it away, pretending he didn’t understand its worth. I suppose he could also be Audrey’s father who raised her with an understanding of nature, but I can’t prove that, only suspect it from her Lorax colored hair and knowledge that trees produce oxygen. Audrey being effectively half fay would also explain why the tree she helped plant grew so well and produced so many more trees. She literally has nature magic. Another point in favor of the Lorax visiting everyone and subtly promoting trees to them is that literally everyone in town except O’Hare is so excited about gardening that they sing about it, including Marie who is only 3 but would really like to see a tree. Why? Most people irl are indifferent to adding a new thing to their town, and 3 year olds are usually uninterested in things that will not benefit them in the next 10 minutes. I suppose Marie could be Audrey’s sister since she does stand with Audrey and Cy during O’Hare’s part in “Let it Grow” and has no definitive parents. Also despite her young age she is on key and rhymes her verse perfectly. Her hair is more strawberry blonde than orange but it could darken with age and she has blue eyes and an upturned nose like the Lorax. None of that proves she isn’t fully human, but the only other child who has a solo in this movie is Westley who has the shorter non rhyming line “I just went swimming and now I glow.” Considering that he can actually swim without floaties, he is probably much older than 3, yet has a much simpler part. Suspicious.
Maybe O'Hare was influenced by the Lorax in some way, like, maybe the Lorax disguised himself as a human or hell even presented himself as a magical creature, except omitting the parts where he fights for nature and all that, and offered O'Hare the seeds so he could produce his air, that way he influenced everything from behind the scenes.
I want someone to make a princess mononoke crossover just to make the deer spirit judge the Lorax & rid of him. Something or someone to be “nature finding a way” incarnate.
I don’t think that Mr. O’Hare is a byproduct of The Lorax, i think he might be the Lorax. Hear me out, shortly after the Lorax leaves, we see a young Mr. O’Hare. Shortly After Mr. O’Hare is thrown out of thneedsville, the Lorax return. He might be the Lorax in a different form. This would make the Lorax Ted’s dad.
It could be like how the Monkey King in The Forbidden Kingdom (2008) creates clones through his hair- the Lorax put a manifestation of himself into the world (O’Hare) and takes him away once he’s not needed.
This video (and by extension, the entire channel) are a testament to the importance of paying attention to the small details when writing/making a story. Intentional or not, these small details can completely recontextualize everything, or more importantly, completely dismantle the story you thought you were trying to tell.
I just realized something. When Ted goes to plant the seed, we see the whole town is concrete. There’s no exposed soil to prevent trees from growing. That’s O’Hares doing. So if someone dies, where are they buried? Outside of town? O’Hare doesn’t let anyone go outside of town and no one goes there anyways. So where do the bodies go? Also how is the onceler still alive after all this time without any fresh air? There’s no trees or plants alive near his house
While i agree with the family connections, the fact O'hare got a seed from the lorax though im not so sure. In an extended version of the theme song at the top of the movie, where the town is praising how perfect their town is, O'hare himself says a very particular line: "I sell them something they can get for free" Now, the reason this line was left in the extended version of the song but not the one in the movie is anyones guess. It could be an old plotline they scrapped. However, it DOES support the idea that life isnt as far gone as its said to be. Or he could be referring to tge fact the onceler still has a seed that he only knows about because he maybe got one of 2 seeds from the Onceler
The way it's presented has always implied to me that air isn't gone. The air may be thin, stale, or otherwise unpleasant, so people are willing to buy fresh air. However, it's not like everyone is taking constant hits of the canned air to stay standing. Either he's passively providing some amount of air as a public service, or it's still otherwise naturally present from SOMEWHERE for free.
Bro his voice sound much deeper. Unfortunately a slight plot hole in all this. The reason Ohare doesn't want the trees is because trees make fresh air for free. His whole business is selling purified air, even advertised as such. Mechanical air purifiers are a thing and Ohare seems to be a nerdy tech guy so he more likely invented air purifiers.

Have you ever watched the adult cartoon "Happy Tree Friends?" I know it’s a weird thing to bring up considering it’s unrelated to the topic of this video, but I feel the show has some good theory potential. I don’t want to spoil anything in the series, but just as an example the show has a lot of strange inconsistencies that I see as too purposeful to be just continuity mistakes. Also, the series is based around seemingly cute and cuddly characters that have demented sides to their personality, which is a trend I’ve noticed with a lot of your theory topics. (i.e. Mort, Katie, Gary the Snail, Scrat, etc.)
Hlariously enough, earlier this week in class we watched the lorax and I had the exact same thought of "what if granny norma was the thneed girl?", so seeing somebody actually look into this is seriously making this an enjoyable episode.

It is possible for a black haired person and a blonde person to have a brown haired child. As for Ted’s hair, that could just be coming from the father OR the onceler because yes, genetics from grandparents can be carried through the family tree (roughly 25%). Plus, it looks like O’Hare has dangling earlobes. If O’Hare was Ted’s dad, the attached earlobes wouldn’t be on Ted like you said But the rest of the video is fantastic 😊
Just wanna remark on the earlobes thing: It isn't nearly so cut and dried as free lobes being dominant over attached lobes. My maternal line has a quirk where one ear has a free lobe and one ear has an attached lobe (it's a royal pain when we go to get our ears pierced.) You would think such a thing would get overwritten fairly quickly in the phenotype by dominant earlobe traits, but it doesn't. It shows up preferentially and is only now, several generations down the line, starting to even out. That tells me there's some codominance and multiple allele involvement happening.
Trees are more violent than you know. They share resources between their root systems and if a tree is weak, the other trees withhold nutrients. Anyone who speaks for the trees must be equally pragmatic. 🤫
Man, the more I looked back on your older videos, the more I just noticed how different your voice is sounding! I'm not complaining or anything, I just found it shocking!
You know the movie could avoid avoided if they just you know planted more trees after they chopped them down. That's how the logging industry works. They don't go just chopping down trees and then leaving For the next forest they regrow trees
The Disco might also be a reference to the band Panic! At The Disco. Ted's main outfit is modeled after a famous outfit the lead singer, Brendon Urie wore in the 2000's. And the Onceler is based off of the original songwriter and guitarist (and lead vocalist for the second album) Ryan Ross. Just search his name with the Onceler, and you'll see the proof. The band had a pretty talked-about split, so it's fair to assume some of the staff got crazy with it.
I always figured O'Hare gets the air from somewhere far off. After all the animal are going somewhere in the flashback so its not like all the trees are gone, only the ones in that area are. So its less that the air is being "created" and more like its being imported
Yeah and why else wouldn’t he want people to leave? Because they will find out there is oxygen elsewhere and no one can come in either the city is walled off to prevent outsiders from coming in.

the thing about illumination movies is that the animators are actually BONKERS when it comes to detail. specifically, both norma & bernice have a noticeably familiar set of cardigans (altered thneeds) & ted’s outfit is literally cut from the same cloth as the thneed girl’s shirt with the once-ler’s grey undershirt. their family has been in the textile business for generations, the best (& most common) practice is to reuse fabric whenever possible there’s also even more genetic traits that you can point to, since there is a LOT of attention to detail put there. between ted, bernice, & norma (including past norma), you can see that they all have the upturned button nose, which like in real life your nose becomes larger with age, but ted’s nose is already bigger than norma’s was in the past, which makes sense when you look at o’hare’s nose. ted’s face shape is directly in between that of his mom’s & o’hare’s. i’d also like to point out some interesting genetics that could hypothetically happen if audrey & ted had kids. we know norma was blond & thus bernice has to have the blond trait as well. lorax genetics definitely make it more difficult to figure out exactly what would happen (especially since he’s got red body hair & blonde facial hair) so we know ted has to have brown hair, but we also have no idea if he as a second brown hair gene, a blond gene from his mother’s side, or he has the wack lorax genetics. this means that if ted & audrey have kids they could either all have brown hair, have a mix of brown & strawberry blond, or even a mix of brown, red, (strawberry?) blond, & lorax

-The Question
I seriously cannot believe that all these years later you are still uncovering mind-boggling reality-shifting hidden truths behind the freaking animated Lorax movie from 2012
Can't believe it was released as early as 2012 it feels more like a 2016 film to me
I know it’s pretty crazy
You know if they added the divorce subtext it would make it more interesting

Perhaps the reason why O'hair didn't kill Ted when he was brought to him was because Ted is his kid
He did a poll on this a month ago on what is the best, but he chose all of them.
What a good man.
Poll 😊
THEY WERE ALL SO GOOD
Can’t believe you would change the thumbnail from Daddy O’Hare to the Lorax.
“But you know, you really can't blame greed
No, that's stupid
You see, it's gotta worm inside
Oh yeah, that's right
It's one that always needs to feed and it is never satisfied
You get it?
But the more you try to find it
The more it likes to hide
Now listen, that is a nasty, little worm
And I like to call it pride”
the personification of pride as a small, legless, crawling animal set off a lightbulb and the next thing we knew we were jokingly talking about how this was an elaborate metaphor for the snake in the garden of eden.
This is an incredibly loose point made mostly in jest but the thought of this stupid injoke actually being mentioned in a theorizer video was enough of a motivator for me to type this all up.
THIS is what I've been waiting for! Ever since I saw the community post teasing this I've been eagerly waiting for it.
The fact that this video was copyright striked by the company, most likely attempting to _silence_ him, says much more about its canonicity 👀
BABE WAKE UP NEW THEORIZER VIDEO
You always make feel me like psychopath because your videos are that good and mind blowing
My mom’s most frequently asked question about Nightmare Before Christmas always was ‘why didn’t Santa use that power before Oogey Boogey nearly killed him?’
What does that have to do with this theory? Well the first words I thought of when she asked that was ‘THAT’S NOT HOW IT WORKS!’ Just like the Lorax says about his own powers.
I wonder if Santa was trying to teach that same lesson to Halloween town by LETTING IT ALL HAPPEN?
You have a voice that makes me afraid of the stair monster again

Has anyone else came to the terrifying realisation that the trees in The Lorax are the clovers in Horton Hears a Who?(Katie part 4)
He talked about that in a previous vids.
Which one?
@@Trainman-fx9oe probably in ones about Katie.
I suppose
Marie could be Audrey’s sister since she does stand with Audrey and Cy during O’Hare’s part in “Let it Grow” and has no definitive parents.
“Honey wake up, The Theorizer posted a new video!”
I want someone to make a princess mononoke crossover just to make the deer spirit judge the Lorax & rid of him.
Something or someone to be “nature finding a way” incarnate.
That would be so cool!
Love that movie.

That’s what I was getting at, I just kind of said “maybe he created him” in case some people wouldn’t believe something as blunt
In an extended version of the theme song at the top of the movie, where the town is praising how perfect their town is, O'hare himself says a very particular line:
"I sell them something they can get for free"
Now, the reason this line was left in the extended version of the song but not the one in the movie is anyones guess.
IVE BEEN SO ADDICTED TO THE LORAX FOR SO LONG IM SO READY FOR THIS
Bro his voice sound much deeper.
At first I was leaning into mail man as his father is such a great joke, I died at this part. 4:40

WAAAAAH THEORIZER UPLOADED
Three series/movies I'd love to see from you:
1. Spy Kids
2. Bolt
3. Fifth Element
If O’Hare was Ted’s dad, the attached earlobes wouldn’t be on Ted like you said
But the rest of the video is fantastic 😊
Just wanna remark on the earlobes thing: It isn't nearly so cut and dried as free lobes being dominant over attached lobes. My maternal line has a quirk where one ear has a free lobe and one ear has an attached lobe (it's a royal pain when we go to get our ears pierced.) You would think such a thing would get overwritten fairly quickly in the phenotype by dominant earlobe traits, but it doesn't. It shows up preferentially and is only now, several generations down the line, starting to even out. That tells me there's some codominance and multiple allele involvement happening.
You know it’s a good day when the theorized uploads
NO WAY THE GUY WHO SPEAKS FOR THE TREES DESTROYS THE TREES

8:38 One issue, black hair is a dominant gene. If ted is O'hares son then how is his hair brown?

He could be heterozygous so one allele is black and one is brown

YASS UPLOADED! EARLY
the thing about illumination movies is that the animators are actually BONKERS when it comes to detail. specifically, both norma & bernice have a noticeably familiar set of cardigans (altered thneeds) & ted’s outfit is literally cut from the same cloth as the thneed girl’s shirt with the once-ler’s grey undershirt. their family has been in the textile business for generations, the best (& most common) practice is to reuse fabric whenever possible
there’s also even more genetic traits that you can point to, since there is a LOT of attention to detail put there. between ted, bernice, & norma (including past norma), you can see that they all have the upturned button nose, which like in real life your nose becomes larger with age, but ted’s nose is already bigger than norma’s was in the past, which makes sense when you look at o’hare’s nose. ted’s face shape is directly in between that of his mom’s & o’hare’s.
i’d also like to point out some interesting genetics that could hypothetically happen if audrey & ted had kids. we know norma was blond & thus bernice has to have the blond trait as well. lorax genetics definitely make it more difficult to figure out exactly what would happen (especially since he’s got red body hair & blonde facial hair) so we know ted has to have brown hair, but we also have no idea if he as a second brown hair gene, a blond gene from his mother’s side, or he has the wack lorax genetics. this means that if ted & audrey have kids they could either all have brown hair, have a mix of brown & strawberry blond, or even a mix of brown, red, (strawberry?) blond, & lorax
