If Sharkboy is the original dreamer-experiment, does that suggest that he created Lavagirl? If I remember correctly, the sharks brought him to an island where he lived until he developed gills. Could it have been a volcanic island? Is it possible that the deeply isolated little boy daydreamed up an imaginary friend who his shark family couldn’t meet because she was made of dangerous lava? Could it be that she gained a certain reality as his need for human companionship was just as real as his need for gills? The fact that he can’t touch her without being burned would also make it easy to pretend she was real (and he was just being safe) until she became real. The forced distance also makes for a decent metaphor for his relationship with humanity while being raised by sharks….especially if there was originally another child in the experiment. In the movie Lavagirl briefly drowns and is dead on screen with her flame extinguished and Sharkboy has to throw her body into a volcano to resurrect her. The power of lava gives new life to the girl without gills. I think it’s very possible that there is was a little girl on the lifeboat with Sharkboy and that she drowned before she could master daydreaming. Lavagirl was created in the image of this dead child. Maybe her soul persists in this new vessel, maybe not….but Sharkboy having the power to create goddesses around him is the most logical explanation for the existence of Guppy. How else could a woman made of sentient lava and a man made of flesh have a child? Sex is out of the question and IVF requires a womb made of womb. We also know that surrogacy is unlikely as Guppy has elemental powers like her mother instead of animal powers like her father. But you can do anything in a dream. Even produce an infant sea goddess to raise alongside your fire goddess wife. This would also explain the existence of both Sharkboy and Lavagirl before Max’s wish and why his parents expected them. Although, Sharkboy’s attitude seems a lot more justified with all this in mind than it did when I was first watched the movie at age 7. He probably has C-PTSD from such a traumatic childhood may not be particularly reliable as a superhero due to his very justified issues. Hence, in Max’s experiment he is bullied but not orphaned or isolated. They don’t want to break him. But that’s just my 2 cents. Edit: I just rewatched the drowning scene and both Sharkboy and Lavagirl appear to be dead for a moment. Sharkboy was electrocuted and fell unconscious underwater. Lavagirl claimed she had to dive in after him because he couldn’t hold his breath forever….seemingly forgetting that he was unconscious has gills? She pulls him out but is fatally dosed in cold water. Both of them then lie motionless until Max resolves to stop being selfish and “dream a better dream”. Then Sharkboy wakes up and gasps. Why did he gasp? Is this about sharks needing to move to breathe? Did he actually suffocate in the few seconds between passing out and being saved? Did Max perform necromancy? Then a volcano just manifests for him to throw Lavagirl into. Why? It’s implied Max did it but if so, why didn’t he instantly revive her? Why did Sharkboy have to carry her lifeless body up a volcano and throw it in? Max doesn’t even fully explain what to do he just says she needs to go to the volcano and Sharkboy only asks “are you sure it will fix her?” Before going through with it. I believe that part may well have been scripted by whoever is running the experiment. They were playing dead in order to make Max feel regret. How much of this movie is plain manipulation? Why?
probably just like the Witches road in Agatha all along. Billy wants to find Tommy. However, instead of using power to find power directly, he unconsciously created the witches road and gained control of his power at the end,. Agatha even commented, nothing would be this dramatic or complicated without billy being a maximoff. Similarly, Max also did not revive lava girl just like that, instead manifesting a volcano to throw her in
@ Possibly, but also the volcano materializes behind them and Sharkboy is the first to notice it and call attention to it. Why wouldn’t Max know what he was doing? He also claims that Sharkboy would burn up getting that close to an active volcano but he’s fine. Shouldn’t Max know the physics of his own creation best? But of course, because he needs to believe the process will work Max has to put a positive spin on Lavagirl’s powers. He realizes that she’s a creator as well as a destroyer. She is light. He says so. He wills it. Shortly thereafter he creates the ice crystal to stop the destruction his uncontrolled powers have wrought on the real world. He learns nuance. He dreams a better dream. Then Sharkboy and Lavagirl leave him but do not go back to their alleged home planet. At the end of the film they are walking together on one of earth’s beaches. Why? Didn’t they just go through the whole film with the intention of saving Planet Drool? Why not return to it? Unless Drool never fully existed….
@@elfiot my only problem is how do you afford the costs of doing this as a government? Also they're missing a vital element from the movie which is very important in the development of psychic powers - torture. From my experience, torture can cause you to experience elevated states of awareness and develop intelligence at accelerated rates. I was abused a lot as a kid to the point where I stopped caring about things, but it helped me develop responses to things. Like when I'm looking for something, I can see right through objects at it, because I guess I needed to leave quickly sometimes out of fear for my life; or I can tell who is walking just by the sound of their footsteps, because I would listen for footsteps... It seems to me that fear is essential, torture and pain are essential to the development of psychic powers. I don't think dreams are enough. They're just the half of it, fear draws dream energy into the vessel to help escape the dangers of reality. I think there's a game about this called FEAR but I haven't played it much. I read it was based on the Montauk experiments
@@amelioravictoriadionyssia3323 The United States Department of Defense has a budget of almost 2 trillion dollars this year so I think that exorbitant spending on something like this is probably well within the government’s wheelhouse, especially since the movie seems to be set in America. As for the torture thing, my theory is that they essentially tried that on Sharkboy and got mixed results. So they’re refining the process with Max to force him to overcome adversity irl and in the dream realm without doing irreversible damage to his psyche. They need to prevent Max from eventually biting the hand that feeds him, so they aren’t using that same hand to beat him. They may be going for more of a positive reinforcement approach at least while he’s very young where he may experience fear in the dream realm, but he’s safe and comfortable in the waking world as long as he uses his powers for good.
@elfiot it's actually over 4 trillion that's spent but even then that's not enough to send kids to pluto. There isn't an amount of money that can purchase such a thing because it's not physically possible at the moment

I mean, this is less insane than most conspiracy theories people try to pass off as true, so... sure, I'll give you that. The whole movie has dream logic because it's a dream, and the government is trying to make superheroes from children's dreams. 100% canon. Confirmed. Seal of quality. Chef's kiss. 11/10. Would try experimental government drugs and do a remote viewing of this movie again. So, I guess this is just an explanation of Project Stargate for kids.
this is gonna sound fucking crazy, but i resonated a lot with this movie as a kid BECAUSE of how you're describing the experience. The details like the mom saying "my giant cookies" and then the dream parents being giant cookies genuinely clicked to me as a kid, I remember watching the movie (I watched it a lot) and catching that at the beginning. I caught all sorts of little connections like that. i tried to explain it to my siblings, but they said it's not that deep it's just a silly movie, but I felt something watching this movie and interpreted a lot of what was happening as "manifesting" (in a way that a kid can understand) rather than the story playing out how it seems to, but i wasn't smart enough as a kid to really form the entire thought, but watching you put into words what i noticed as a kid and delving into the questions I had in a way that makes me remember conclusions i formed back then is fucking crazy. thank you for your effort!!
As someone who had been subconsciously influenced in positive ways, everyone is a god hit me the same way, I've it planned that my novels' self-insert driving catalyst is due to write a novel of our world which would describe our own existence and how I'm here writing their otherside. I've always been enticed with being able to intuit certain things and despite the realistic chances, when it happens accidentally are the eeriest waking moments I have. Lately, I've been noticing that my choice of inspirational music for writing is quite literally my internal/subconscious self trying to communicate with me, which narratively should be reasoned as my otherside self. something similar happened to me today I was driving and made fun of some lady taking a long time to move and made a joke saying “oh I bet you her name is grenalda” then a few seconds later I drive past a street I’ve never driven past before in a part of my city i’ve never frequented and guess what the name of the street was… grenalda. The weirdest part was after I had seen the street sign I instantly got a headache and a weird anxious feeling in my stomach usually never accompanied with typical deja vu but idk 😅
@@joshisawsome115 Sounds like you were subconsciously aware of the street sign but never consciously read it, saw the place you were in and recalled a suitable thing from memory, and then got a headache because you were confused by what happened. Entirely normal
Considering my name online is an acronym in reference to a location in this movie, you bet I’ve been insanely hyped for this video. All the years of watching your channel have led up to this . . .
To quote Max's dad, "Well I believe him." All of this made a weird sort of sense as per usual. Although now that it's on the brain, if you haven't already, could you do something on spy kids? The movie is weird as hell and frankly I think it would be fun to see what you could come up with.
@@ThatLegoGuy-10140Wait, that makes sense. And seeing how frustrated Max's teacher made him, they kidnapped their version of him to transform him into Mr Electric, MODOK style, creating a cyborg monstrosity to depower the planet of dreaming kids, and in doing so, making it all the easier for them to control the few kids that can daydream by using the masses as leverage.
i just took the spy kids movies at face value, especially that time one, ever since that movie time has been wonky and i didnt realize until years after the movie came out because i thought i was too grown for the series. but all things 2D media for me subjectively have pointed back to 3D reality since art imitates life.
I'm not even gonna lie, I got 8 minutes into this video thinking "wow this really plays just like a theorizer video" and only just realized it's actually a new theorizer video lmfao. guys i think i might be stupid
Just a thought, but do you think these aliens could BE from Planet Drool. Since everything Max dreamt of became real, is their a possibility he was the one who set the events of LITERALLY EVERYTHING for both past, present, AND future without being aware? And if so… why. Why make aliens to fight heroes? Perhaps he wanted to inspire people to imagine as he did. That’s the point of the sequel. To inspire one. We can be heroes is the title BECAUSE PEOPLE DREAMT THE HEROES. So by proxy, everything has been controlled by Max, and he’s been completely unaware.
I grew up in this movie,I still even have the 3D dvd of it in a place of prominence in my collection. I am intrigued at this, considering I tried to theorize on this myself (not on yt,just in my own head) if this is anything close to what I thought back then,I will accept this as canon no questions asked.
Update: It was decently close,I always assumed that maybe The OSS were controlling things for Max,I also assumed that he had a sibling at some point because of the bunk bed. I also assumed that the aliens in WCBH were from planet drool/pluto. Lastly I also theorized that Mr Electric was in some way connected to The Toymaker from SK3. The Color scheme is similar and both being connected to the shadow government made a lot of sense. 10/10 theory, please include the Spy Kids trilogy (and maybe 4,5,and mission critical) as well as Machete 1 and 2.
Mr. Electric didn't choose to become the villain. Well, he's technically the antagonist of the story, but he wasn't made to become evil. It was Max's decision and his thoughts that helped create who he was throughout it. When one believes in something very hard and shares that belief with people like Minus, it will come true. Just like how they portray their teacher; an alter ego of someone who wanted to teach and expand young minds only to be thought of as the lighting bolt that sparked the fire within the cognitive forest of his mind. That's exactly how and why he views him as who he is as of right now because let me tell you something no one has ever told you before. Evil is non-existent. It doesn't originate from a tragic backstory or a sick view of the world but instead originated from a cognitive landscape sticking to the back of ones heads like glue. It isn't portrayed as a villain. Nor a place. Nor a superweapon. It's just there waiting to be created by those who're willing to make it manifest in whatever way imaginable and to think of the perfect hero to stop them and put an end to their evil, but they fail to realize that it'll come back like it always does as long as the dreamer keeps on dreaming and creating archetypes to maintain the balance between their inner peace and outer destruction. Because that's what evil is while in the realm of dreams and thoughts: a canvas waiting to be painted and conceptualized by those who portray it in whatever twisted yet oddly beautiful way imaginable.
I really like this one. I followed along, it wasn’t dark or sinister, and it made for an incredibly compelling story that makes these movies way cooler than they actually are
Just a suggestion: could you do a theory on calvin and hobbes? bill watterson himself said in an interview that hobbes isn’t just an imaginary friend. No canon explanation is ever given on where hobbes originates, why he hangs around calvin, or WHAT he is. Also, calvin and the other characters don’t age. this is confirmed by the fact that christmas is celebrated multiple times yet he stays six. Additionally, It's never confirmed weather or not susie can see hobbes or if she’s just playing pretend. Edit: My personal theory is that hobbes is some kind of ghost or yokai. Possibly a guardian spirit? He attacks Calvin mutiple times in the comics but never with any intent to severly or fatally injure calvin. Calvin also stated that Hobbes killed a bully of his but this could just be something Calvin made up since we never explicitly see it in the comics.
@@WolfTrot He can't be a hologram or a hallucination because in one of the strips he ties calvin up in a way that would be impossible for calvin to do by himself.
Kinda reminds me of chim from TES, that individuals are able to learn that the reality of that verse is a dream of an entity known as the god head, and by learning this they either disbelieve themselves or hold on to their sense of self and obtain the ability to alter reality.
This theories beginnings made me think of the empty man movie where everyone’s unified beliefs or in this case dreams become reality and Max isn’t the only one with powers but just the route their dreams take to become reality
Im so mad I had school and had to wait to see this! This is truly all the education I need. This genuinely might be one of my favorite theorizer videos, even in comparison with The mort theory
The theme of the movie involves the idea that dreams can be so powerful, they become reality. Max "controls reality" because he is the Day Dreamer, so his dreams are just that powerful.
The real question is if this movie exists in the same universe as Spy Kids. Linus’ journal has the same face as the amusement park ride in Soy Kids 2. Spy Kids and We Can Be Heroes also has the same President
Bro I swear you are the best. You make the best theories ever. I still tell anyone interested in theories about your one video of Horton hears a who and Cloverfield. I truly think you're the best theorizer ever. Thank you, man. You make my day with each new upload.
I personally believe that its about maladaptive daydreaming, and that everything that happened in the movie was just Max daydreaming in class. That is probably just a headcanon tho, i dont think ive ever seen a piece of media that was confirmed to be about it.
I think what makes the most sense is that Max's presence allows those around him to subconsciously influence a sort of dream realm. This would explain why everyone has influence on it, but Max has the most control.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is not connected at all. The Wild Robot shows a society trying to destroy nature, possibly created by FEET to prevent animals from being able to be born, thus stopping Mort. That’s my guess anyhow
the “bad guy” in the film represents anyone who’s ever tried to belittle, undermine, or disregard you, in hopes of deterring you from elevating to your highest potential which would inquire pursuing your dreams.
Dude, I recommend you to check out Thomas and the Magic Railroad... It too is a weird peace of childrens media that leaves a lot of questions un answered, like why is there a small 9 inch man randomly in a train station? I feel like you'll find it as interesting as SharkBoy and LavaGirl
• Max’s powers come from an infinite well of creativity. His strength is tied to his belief in himself and the purity of his dreams. J.K. Rowling •I was curious why they did not go to a storm shelter when the tornados arrived.
This theory is also cemented by Mr. Electric when he says this before he heads to earth "You think you can just snap your eyes open and make me vanish? Not so easy. I am the danger of dreaming, for every person who dreams up the electric lightbulb, there's the one who dreams up, the atom bomb!" This is why the government is so concerned and focused on ensuring the creation of superheroes via guiding superpowered kids into controlling their daydreaming, because for as many people will create wonderous dreams, there will be one person who will create tortourus nightmares.

Me: Eh, movie made perfect sense to me. Max is able to control reality because hes able to dream with his eyes open or sum shiz. If you're not paying attention to what the people are saying, which kids tend to not do, its hard to understand, but watching it as an adult, most of the answers are given
I thought this was just a fun theory until you noted that the journal literally says what happens in the future of the movie months in advance. The interesting thing is the teacher is mr electric yet mr electric shows up as a different character from the teacher so does that mean minus and the ice princess are different people. How did she have her powers at the end? Does that mean possibly the teacher has mr electric powers even though mr electric is a different person.
I swear that movie has lived rent free in my head since I first saw it. It was like the books of mirrorscape and mirrorstorm I pretend the second movie doesnt exist tbfh
I'm convinced the theorizer has the same power as Max because there is no way he can spit some of the most insane theories of all time and then show actual evidence for it so good that it canonizes the entire theory. The theorizer must have the ability to bend reality so that his theories make sense.
this was kind of like the kid version explanation of the matrix, how dreams are potent & should be cherished despite any odds, & basically the spiritual realm vs the 3D reality we do see, right before the veil is lifted.

These kids qualify as SCP reality benders.
The Swans if they were epic!!!!:
More like type greens
What is SCP
@@AbdullahToorMysticSCP is an acronym of Secure Contain and Protect. It’s a foundation of the same name that take control of objects, entities, environments and many other things that go against humanity’s idea of what is possible and impossible. The SCP Foundation exists to attempt to take control of these impossible things to keep Humanity from destroying themselves through apocalyptic events.
These kids bouta be getting the scp 239 treatment
I mean, this is less insane than most conspiracy theories people try to pass off as true, so... sure, I'll give you that. The whole movie has dream logic because it's a dream, and the government is trying to make superheroes from children's dreams. 100% canon. Confirmed. Seal of quality. Chef's kiss. 11/10. Would try experimental government drugs and do a remote viewing of this movie again. So, I guess this is just an explanation of Project Stargate for kids.
Omg that last part of your comment actually makes so much sense it is just project stargate for kids
So basically a wacky children's movie from the 2000s provides deeply complex existential complexities the human mind can barely comprehend

We are ruinning Max's dream journal with this video

this is gonna sound fucking crazy, but i resonated a lot with this movie as a kid BECAUSE of how you're describing the experience.
If SbLg was a Fictional reality about this happening, I might imply that it /is/ what's happening. Guess I should start talking to myself aloud more oft 😂
Hey, if news breaks that Scientific society has started collapsing and people are starting to magically transform into their headcanon'd fursonas, thank me; cause woo boy I have high hopes on that magic renaissance to help us all out a lot.

Damn also considering the fact. If sharkboy, lavagirl, the princess and Mr electric enters the real world proves that something more is going on here.
This means that the movie is now Cosmic Horror
Not so much with the horror part but more so with Cosmic "Wonder" due to the dream and fantasical elements involved with planet drool.

The scary thing about this is that this 'power' can play a role Irl too. Some people have intuitive dreams. So it's almost as if what they are imagining becomes real. Max's power is an extreme version of it.
something similar happened to me today I was driving and made fun of some lady taking a long time to move and made a joke saying “oh I bet you her name is grenalda” then a few seconds later I drive past a street I’ve never driven past before in a part of my city i’ve never frequented and guess what the name of the street was… grenalda. All of this made a weird sort of sense as per usual.
Although now that it's on the brain, if you haven't already, could you do something on spy kids? The movie is weird as hell and frankly I think it would be fun to see what you could come up with.
My Theory, The Toymaker is working with the OSS to create Mr Electric and make Superheroes real and more importantly CONTROLLABLE.
It's by the same director, maybe you knew that, anyway the Spy Kids movies are good and have a good message about family but are also weird.

You're too good at this and it all makes sense and that's the scary part. My head literally exploded.Someone is theorizing a little too hardly.

I did that (although more like 2 minutes) I thought I was watching a Film Theory video at first but thought it sounded like a Theorizer video.
you just dreamed it to be a theorizer video making it come true
I thought that, but was pondering part 2
@ I can’t believe how fast you were with commenting back. Also it, thematically, just makes sense.

@@PeppyOctopus yeah Film Theory isn't even theories. It's just applying science to movies and tv shows
@@PeppyOctopusThis guy never disappoints. His theories are always so wacky on the surface but they make sense beneath it
@brucemcgoose7609 yea I've been watching through them since I found his channel. The total drama island ones are really good too
I grew up in this movie,I still even have the 3D dvd of it in a place of prominence in my collection. I am intrigued at this, considering I tried to theorize on this myself (not on yt,just in my own head) if this is anything close to what I thought back then,I will accept this as canon no questions asked.
Update:
It was decently close,I always assumed that maybe The OSS were controlling things for Max,I also assumed that he had a sibling at some point because of the bunk bed.
The editing of this video is on another level 👍
I just decided not to rush it. I’ve been lazy for too long lol
THAT'S HOW MINUS CAN USE THE JOURNAL!!!!
I haven’t seen your channel since 2018 back when Coraline theories were a rare thing, glad to see you’re still around!
I really like this one. I followed along, it wasn’t dark or sinister, and it made for an incredibly compelling story that makes these movies way cooler than they actually are
I wonder what an arg made by the Theorizer would look like.
It's always confused me on how Hobbes works. Is he real? A hallucination? A hologram? I need a theory on this ASAP
@@WolfTrot He can't be a hologram or a hallucination because in one of the strips he ties calvin up in a way that would be impossible for calvin to do by himself.
Idk about all that, all I noticed was that Calvin ruined his parent's marriage. Reading the compiled comics in one go was depressing.
Wow. My questions were answered ten-fold.
Kinda reminds me of chim from TES, that individuals are able to learn that the reality of that verse is a dream of an entity known as the god head, and by learning this they either disbelieve themselves or hold on to their sense of self and obtain the ability to alter reality.
If your channel’s name would be changed to„the overthinker“ I would not notice the difference. You’re insane.

Honestly Sharkboy & Lavagirl was one of my favorite childhood films growing up in 2005-2006, but this theory really blew me away 🤯🤯🤯.
11:49 That's an actual theory some spiritualists believe, that belief creates reality. Perhaps this movie takes inspiration from that...
And some series do have that as a magic system, like Fate Series where beliefs make anything into existence or stronger
This seems to make the movie seem so complex, yet I tend to believe they didn't had this big brain lore in their noggins when producing the movie
youd be surprised...
Watching him bite through the bars at 1:00 all these years later and seeing how much better animation has got is truly a shock.
9:50 Wait, I thought Linus wanted Max sent to a certain type of exploding chamber?

This theory is also cemented by Mr. Electric when he says this before he heads to earth "You think you can just snap your eyes open and make me vanish? Not so easy. I am the danger of dreaming, for every person who dreams up the electric lightbulb, there's the one who dreams up, the atom bomb!" This is why the government is so concerned and focused on ensuring the creation of superheroes via guiding superpowered kids into controlling their daydreaming, because for as many people will create wonderous dreams, there will be one person who will create tortourus nightmares.
