At one time I thought I was an expert at rev matching/heel toe shifting and a pretty good driver. Then I attended a Porsche driving experience (first of many). Two laps in the passenger seat of a GT3 with Hurley Haywood behind the wheel taught me that I had a long way to go. It's amazing how much you can learn from an expert teacher.
man, your video editing skills went through the roof in like three months. Excellent work, keep it up, but please don't forget about the good old easy detailing tips :)
This is one of my favorite teachers, even if I don't comment on Larry's channel a lot. This video is not about detailing cars, yet shows his love for cars and delivers great education for the viewers. Great editing, by the way. Larry, I wish you god luck and achievement in your racing passion.
Those of us in the HPDE community absolutely love this type of content. Great video and the content was top shelf. This is definitely on my list, thank you. Keep it coming !!!
Wow, Larry, if David Murry is one of the good guys in racing, you must be one of the good guys in RUclips car videos. Boat loads of useful information and the most important thing is you sounded like every viewer's best friend/teacher and have our best interests in your mind. Two enthusiastic thumbs up. Keep up the great work. It is much appreciated!
I've been doing time attack since I'm 25yo now 31yo using a modified Toyota 86, I'm middle class, just find deals on used parts online and do all modifications/maintenance by yourself.
Keep this segment going! I'm a novice track day driver at best and this has so much information. Not to mention, great video footage and the soundtrack of cars racing....epic!
I've been following you for a few years now, and your videos have taught me loads. This videos production level was outstanding! If we ever bump into each other from across the Atlantic, I owe you a beer buddy.
Definitely one of my favourite video of yours so far, thanks Larry! It's so addictive watching someone so passionate about their car and their profession.
Thanks for the review of David Murray. It's always good to get perspectives on the different groups running DEs and you're right, for the entry fee and the seat time you get, his events are a steal!
Really enjoyed this, very down to earth delivery, proper driving rather than the usual tail out tyre smoke you seem to get everywhere. Oh and what a classy car !
I gotta say Larry, your videos have always been well executed but with these last ones you have properly stepped it up a notch! Great work and keep it up ;)
Larry, these videos are making me want to move to NYC / Virginia to join in on the fun :) This production is top quality. Obviously some serious hours went into making this and I greatly appreciate the quality of the video!
Larry... great video as always. Your videos always give such inspiration to go out wrenching or washing which is great, so thank you. Hope to see you in New Canaan tomorrow.
I drive at VIR atleast once a month, I have also worked with some teams very similar to who he was running with that weekend. Packages like his where everything is taken care of is about $2000 for the weekend. However at track weekends, you do not have to be a rich old man. I bring my BMW E30 which is an amazing car and can get away with spending only a few hundred a weekend. It's an amazing time and i would highly recommend it!! Whether you have a Porsche or a Honda, the slower car will help your learning. If you can drive a slow car fast, a fast car is even faster. Look up some tracks close to you and maybe i could point you or anyone in a direction as to getting started yourself!
Larry. It was nice to meet you at Adam's polishes clinic in NJ last month. Just saw your track videos. Thanks so much for making these videos because I'm going to start tracking next Sunday and found this super helpful. Subscribed.
Awesome vid; it really captures the track day vibe and experience! I've done lot of the tracks in the NE US and Canada, but this vid has peaked my interest in VIR. See you out there!
Very cool! I like the detailing / racing combination on the channel :) I started racing karts one and a half year a ago, and I see many similarities, just on a smaller scale. It's cool to see the experience from a cars perspective though :)
Go superkarting on the same track or attend a fast track like Spa or perhaps the more "popular" N-ring, or a big track in the Us with full speed curves. That will get your blood rushing and validate "nouns" like "best tracks".
This is one of my goals (to become an "advanced" racing driver one day), so to see one of my favorite RUclipsrs doing just that is pretty awesome. Edit: I don't know how RUclips managed to hide this video from me since 2015
Fantastic video and most likely a phenomenal experience. If you do it more regularly, think about getting proper seatbelts designed for HANS devices, they have smaller shoulder straps to fit perfectly onto the HANS. Nothing for the road, though...
RPF 1's and Hoosier A-6's? as you were walking to the driver's meeting a quick glimpse of wheels on the ground with a crew member. you Sir, are going all in on this track stuff. drive safe.
Good stuff man. I liked your segment about braking. You may have heard about iRacing. IF not look into it. it could be elemental in your ability to practice braking and lines. The sim is the best of the best, and there is a ton of technique that can be obtained. Keep up the good vids man
+kousinkoolaid - I'd be recommending Assetto Corsa; the ultimate driving simulator whereas iRacing is a better online racing experience, at least for now.
I wish I could do some tracks days but unfortunately here in Hawaii we don't have circuit tracks. Which sucks lol. My hellcat wouldn't do to good on a circuit but it would still be fun.
12:36 I just found out that racing shoes such as those costs upwards of $200+. The material is super thin too so the wearer could feel the pedals. It's completely ridiculous, there's $70 shoes out there with more material in it but I guess it's because race shoes aren't mass produced. :|
Larry, your vids are fantastic. Thank you. I was curious what the make and model of your helmet is? I wear glasses and can't wear contacts so I need a comfortable helmet with a wide eyepiece and yours look to be a good choice.

What a great video Larry, it is evident your talents and attention to detail have crept into your video production skills, keep it up!
Thank u!
This might have been the best production of any AMMO video yet, A+

That moment you realise you want to be part in this but your wallet reminds you it's impossible lol
*that moment lasted 15 minutes and 11 seconds. and the thought that how much Larry makes annually*
I've been doing time attack since I'm 25yo now 31yo using a modified Toyota 86, I'm middle class, just find deals on used parts online and do all modifications/maintenance by yourself.
Among the best episodes of AMMO NYC!
Keep this segment going! I'm a novice track day driver at best and this has so much information. Not to mention, great video footage and the soundtrack of cars racing....epic!
Loved this - Way to pump out awesome content Larry!
+Doggepp Thank you!
+AMMO NYC Beautiful footage and editing! Well done!

14 hours? That's a lot of track time for $700
Awesome editing Laryry!! This video was gold!
Great job Larry, that looked like a lot of fun!
Larry, Im sure your heart was pumping a million MPH. glad you had fun.
Thanks for the review of David Murray. It's always good to get perspectives on the different groups running DEs and you're right, for the entry fee and the seat time you get, his events are a steal!
The quality of your videos has become simply stunning, very, very well done Larry.
Really enjoyed this, very down to earth delivery, proper driving rather than the usual tail out tyre smoke you seem to get everywhere. Oh and what a classy car !
Absolutely fantastic! Thanks for sharing this!!
Thank you for putting that much passion in your videos. Doing that is a dream for me. Enjoy your car !
I gotta say Larry, your videos have always been well executed but with these last ones you have properly stepped it up a notch! Great work and keep it up ;)
Incredible video, thanks Larry!
Favorite video yet!
Congrats to Ryan Douthit and the Driving Sports TV team. Very handsome production and storytelling. Hope to see more.
Very nice video Larry !
Greetings from Germany,
Fabian.
Great video Larry. Love the 964. 4 seconds a lap in a weekend, thats HUGE! Congrats, thanks for sharing!
Larry, these videos are making me want to move to NYC / Virginia to join in on the fun :) This production is top quality. Obviously some serious hours went into making this and I greatly appreciate the quality of the video!
Thx bud
Larry... great video as always. Your videos always give such inspiration to go out wrenching or washing which is great, so thank you. Hope to see you in New Canaan tomorrow.
Nothing better than spending a weekend at the track having fun in your car while being surrounded by great people. Great vid Larry!
Great vid once again... Oh and the 964!
Great vid, Larry!

dig the videos and the production quality, keep it going!!
What an cool event. I love Avery's E90. Speed Sport Tuning is no joke either. They run a tight ship. More track episodes, please!
Great video. Loved it. Great production.
Did top gear go here? hammond was in the 911 GT3/RS, Clarkson in an SLS and May in a 458?
Yep that's when Hammond was trying to pass captain slow and spun out, great episode
Love this track so much. I have only raced there 1x but I can't wait to get back there again.
Please keep making videos like this. I'm an avid driver myself and get great info from these segments.
Larry. It was nice to meet you at Adam's polishes clinic in NJ last month. Just saw your track videos. Thanks so much for making these videos because I'm going to start tracking next Sunday and found this super helpful. Subscribed.
Amazing video, Larry. The cinematics are very nice too.
Thumbs up!
it makes me dream when I am playing PCARS or Assetto, fantastic to be able to experience such an incredible thing.
Another great series on racing Larry keep up the great work.
Great video, both content and production!! Loved the soundtrack and the slowmo segments!
Awesome vid; it really captures the track day vibe and experience! I've done lot of the tracks in the NE US and Canada, but this vid has peaked my interest in VIR. See you out there!
@13:32, beautiful shot! $699 is cheap for just the track time you got. The coaching, a bonus!
Beautiful! Such amazing production quality!
Very cool! I like the detailing / racing combination on the channel :)

Very nice quality video.. Keep them coming Larry! I've learned alot by watching your videos!
Really good video (again)!
coolest thing about this track is that u can get a hotel just beside it.
we race a vir a lot and it is a wonderful track we have a Porsche 911 Carrera and it's amazing on the track glad you get to experience the at track
I like your Puma boots. I had a red pair which which I used for karting, they where really comfortable I like them a lot.
This is one of my goals (to become an "advanced" racing driver one day), so to see one of my favorite RUclipsrs doing just that is pretty awesome. Edit: I don't know how RUclips managed to hide this video from me since 2015
This is awesome! One day.
Taking my stage 2 R56 MINI to the track on May 27th..such helpful info. Not going to taking a class though which kinda sucks
Fantastic video and most likely a phenomenal experience.

Great recap of your experience at the track. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome video!! Spencer came in clutch with that radiator! Lol. 👌🏻👌🏻

+kousinkoolaid Thanks. I'll look into it!
+kousinkoolaid - I'd be recommending Assetto Corsa; the ultimate driving simulator whereas iRacing is a better online racing experience, at least for now.
+bongmistt I've heard of it but being that I haven't tried it I can't recommend it. Yet. ;)
+kousinkoolaid been on iracing for over 4 years now, have assetto, project cars, rfactor, iracing is the best learning tool.
agreed. I haven't been able to race in a while but it taught me a lot
Such a great video! I've never seen any other like it! clearly you're not just an auto detailer ;)
Awesome video Larry! Bye from Italy!
Amazing video. Make more of this please!!
I got all stoked watching this and went to play a couple laps on forza 6!
4:54 THAT THING HAS A 13B? NO WAY!!
Noticed that too...
Love these track videos!!!! Keep it up Larry...
Excellent video, Larry. Great content and advice.
The little VIR intro movie reminded me of the Grand Turismo 3 A-Spec intro lol
You should do more of these track videos also hope to see you at a track day
I wish I could do some tracks days but unfortunately here in Hawaii we don't have circuit tracks. Which sucks lol. My hellcat wouldn't do to good on a circuit but it would still be fun.
Awesome! Looks like hella fun!!
👍🏻 You the man Larry!
Awesome video dude, keep it up. Going to have to order some more Ammo stuff soon too, haha!
Great video
AMMazing video Larry.

Wow, great story telling and education on track days! I'm following like a hawk since I just recently did my first HPDE. What's next in the series?
Another way to learn a track is to drive em on simulator. Iracing gat VIR, track have been scaned for best proportion result !
Thanks
awesome content. it feels like a small documentary. can you please start posting your actual laps with your gopro?
well done Larry!
Hats Off to Larry.
Have u ever tried using a sim racing rig to learn the track lines while ur away from track?
Larry, Editing was perfect! Awesome episode? Any new Detailing video coming out? Also when can we watch the Rupes factory video?
In 2 weeks :)
love the track videos!
I noticed, that the Porsche, you were taken out on a ride, clearly needs some compounding and polishing :D
keep doing this videos love them.
Rich Piana is my favourite natural quick detailer
that intro was great !
Well edited video. What are your next plans with the car, as far as mods? Do you plan on upgrading to a quicker car?
Any car can be as quick as you want it, also I don't think he would sell such a sweet porsche.
+Leois12 not trying to say it's slow or not a cool car, it's awesome. I've been tracking cars for awhile and the speed big gets ya!
Damn, that seems dope. I got to get out there.
Awesome video Larry, VIR is amazing I was awestruck my first time ever at a track. What was your best lap time?
Larry, your vids are fantastic. Thank you. I was curious what the make and model of your helmet is? I wear glasses and can't wear contacts so I need a comfortable helmet with a wide eyepiece and yours look to be a good choice.
lol a lot of the students are old men. It's because only older men have the money to afford track cars and racing instruction.
ikr. I wonder how much it is for the visit
+kidzero1943 I drive at VIR atleast once a month, I have also worked with some teams very similar to who he was running with that weekend. Packages like his where everything is taken care of is about $2000 for the weekend.

+n3rdbear buy a Miata, E30, or E36, or a Honda, and track days won't be that expensive. Otherwise, autocross is like $35 a day.
I worked at a stock car student racing program similar to this, just with stock cars obviously, and 90% of the drivers were old men.
whats wrong with old men leaning how to drive on track that have enough money?
Love your videos!! Could you go into what these events cost you?
looks like a great experience
