(2:20 - 2:55) I totally changed my braking technique after hearing that (I'm still a rookie, just started racing last year)... I was a little too soft on the brakes during the first 50 ft (was afraid of locking up), but not anymore. Of course the trick now is trying brake hard initially, but not lock-up. These guys make it look so easy. I really like these short videos w/racing advice from the pros... Gives me new things to try, so I can see what works best for me/my car.
To have a good braking late, It depend on the car balance and the grip at last turns. Off topic: Man, american tracks are amazing. Road America, Road Atlanta and watkins glen. I'm virtual race driver and I can feel the challenge at every turn. Indy became more intersting than F1.

So many arguments on Reddit, about who has the corner? I see people trying to out brake the other player and the other play doesn’t allow the other car to have the corner. The other car always says they had the better line and they should have had the corner. Like the guy said, you have to get the front of the other guy before the turn and they should give you the corner at that point.
I never use brake markers I prefer to go by feel. Just look through the turn , imagine where you want to finish braking and imagine the grip , entry speed how you going to release the breaks etc and in turn you just subconsciously know exactly where to brake every time provided your mental image of the corner is accurate. The key to being fast is being able to accurately imagine what you have to do. The more info you can soak up and process to use in your mental image of what you have to do the faster you will be all round.
