- This is the full-length film about my Porsche 964 3.6L to 3.8L RS engine conversion. It was filmed over 3 months and I couldn't be happier with the final result. My car was built for ME...my specs, my goals, and my vision. Speedsporttuning listened to everything I dreamt about as a kid and build the car around my personality... and for that I will be forever grateful. I fled NYC in 1990 and I don't miss it one bit. My cars stay clean for weeks, but they are all in huge garage. Unless you drive on the beach all day, nothing rusts. I don't own a coat! Just seeing you in winter garb made me shiver.

Folks, I saw this car in August @ Watkins Glen! It is beautiful, clean, and in Awesome condition! I spoke with the owner for 15-20 minutes. Great guy. I stumbled upon this while browsing YT.
never really liked old porches until I watched you detail yours. After this i'm officially obsessed. Love the 964. Inspiring my friend, truly inspiring. learned a lot about boxster engines thought this video. I could tear down and put back together an old V8 in no time. Time to set my sights on learning the intricacies that is porsche motors.

Just picked up a 90' C4 964. What an amazing shop and the people involved. I've watched this video so many times. Larry, I'm sure knowing your friend built this engine is such an honor to you and your 964. RIP Spencer Cox. The repaint video of your car is as high a caliber as this engine build as well. About 14 years ago I did a 3.8 build for and white RS America. We used GM racing injectors to flow and full MoTec electronics. The car was awesome and we had one very happy customer.
Great vid and congratulations on owning one of THE toughest sounding 911's over ever heard.... That note was extra fat, bass, toneful, hard edged and had that unmistakable Porsche flat six yowl.... Fuckin love it!

I didn't realize that was their F40 until I saw this. I caught it out at Lime Rock a few weeks ago and drove behind it for a little while on some CT back roads- Beautiful car.

Awesome awesome follow up to Matt's video of your car. Thanks for sharing and hope to see more. As far as feedback, the video felt perfect in length, maybe its because of the format and style of presenting but I know a lot of channels steer away from long videos to not drone out the audience. For Car guy stuff though, where the details are what matter, this is great. Congrats on the car as well.
This is exactly what used to happen to my Nissan Pulsar, used to leak just slightly from Cylinder 4 and 2 and would pump huge clouds of smoke into the cabin, never actually damaged anyrthing, just crazy scary to see haha.

Just wanted to say thanks for putting this together. I know it's time consuming and expensive. While the entire video was good, I really enjoyed watching the tear down and rebuild of the engine. Keep up the good work.
First comment about the weather. I partially know how you feel. I live in the Midwest, and we get the extremes of both winter and summer. Plus, here in the midwest, we don't really have that big of a enthusiast group. It's mostly trucks and corvettes with the occasional porche. St Louis is Chrysler area, St Charles is GM. So tons of Camaros and Mustangs, as well as Chargers and Challengers.
Car looks amazing! Glad to see you did this proactively vs. seeing your babies engine blow.

I would have built the engine myself, but you are a body guy(sorry, didn't know what to call you since you are so much more than a detailer) and i highly respect that. Oposite goes for me i hire detailers to do my car because i suck at it. But im learning thanks to you Larry. Keep up the good!

This has helped me feel so comfortable and inspired for building amazing cars in Minnesota! I can't tell you how afraid I am to even think of owning a sporty rear wheel drive that has a winter going on about 4 and a half months! We see snow sometimes til the end of April! I looks like I'm still going for something sporty now that I see others doing it. It's tough to see and salt ruins cars but you know what, I think you have a great mindset just having fun and wanting to daily what you want to drive. Thanks for such an awesome video man! Man I really wish I knew more about cars and engines. A lot of this sounded like a foreign language and that engine looked like a crazy puzzle to me. Either way really enjoyed the video. Awesome car!

Damn i know a V 8 by heart but that motor is complicated holy shit! Porsche is my favorite and always will be it has been since i was 9 and im 39. My uncle bought a brand new 944 in 86 got rid of it and bought the new 911 in 87 minus whale tail then in 89 he bought the new 911 with whale tail no turbo but that car screwed! And iv'e been in love ever since!
