  • How do you create collage art? How do you design a surreal collage in Photoshop? How do you come up with a good concept to design? In this tutorial, Matthew Encina takes you through the process of how he creates the collage graphics for The Futur RUclips channel.
🖐These are the 5 steps Matthew takes to create each collage:
    1. Identify the concept. Brainstorm ideas. 00:21
    2. Finding the right stock images. 01:24
    3. Build the composition in Photoshop. 02:42
    4. Create a dynamic background. 06:06
    5. Add depth and dimension. 11:26
    6. Final touches. Adding real textures to make the collage feel real. 14:11

Thank you very much for this channel, I love the main channel but I'm just starting to build my design skills and even when the other channel is great and I have learned a lot, it can be distracting and overwhelming at times because is way more advanced from where I'm at my future (It was not intentional but I'm glad it happened) career and I feel that I can lose my main focus at the moment, that is learn and practice my craft so I can actually make profit from it. But at the same time your content is addictive T.T So now I can come here and have my dosis of The Futur and keep my main focus :D

Thank you, Matthew, for this enlightening quick tutorial on something that I want to pursue! You did a terrific job taking us through the steps to create this photo graphics collage--telling us which tools to use (and why!). This was very very helpful. I will look at other work for inspiration, but YOUR tutorial explains the how to and why, which I think is very important in learning how to conceptualize the final art piece, so thank you! More like this, please!

Hi, Great video, with very good explanations and beautiful result! Thanks! I have some questions regarding the photos you use. Do you buy them or just take them from Internet? Is it allowed to use other people's photos in collages without their OK? Even if you buy photos is it allowed to modify them ? I would also like to make collages but don't know what the law says when it comes to using and modifying other people's photos to use them in collages. Looking very much forward to your reply.

      Its ALT button.
Other method: you need to right click top layer and press "Create clipping mask".
If you asking about putting texture on a head, you need to choose "Screen" mode in layer panel on the left of "Opacity" option.
