I was faced with the same question, and I chose Omega Speedmaster Professional. It is so much cheaper and offers just as much history and prestige, and at the same time, more low key.
Its a strap monster too. I took mine on holiday with 5-6 natos and it was so versatile from the orange cheapo nato off Ebay to a nice aged brown leather Zulu or the black Omega one that came with the watch

My Omega Speedmaster was given to me as a BD gift at the end of July,1969 just ten days after Buzz Aldrin wore the first watch on the moon, a .321 cal. However, mine is one of the first .821s made. I believe it was made in the Fall of 1968 or early winter 1969. I've had it "tuned up" by Omega in N.Y.C. sometime in the later 80s or so. Omega replaced the sweep second hand because the green paint was flaking off the hand. Omega also replaced the Hasilite crystal with a harder plastic shell. They also gave me a more updated wristband and new "pushers" with seals. This was all done for $300. The watch cost about $275 with an employee discount at the time, go figure. Nobody expected the watch would become an icon at the time, but Omega did return to me the older crystal and pushers and a few chain links. Otherwise, the watch is a pre-lunar landing Speedmaster. It almost looks brand new today and I wear it all the time. It does seem to run slightly slower, maybe a minute or so ever two days, but who cares? I just reset it when I wind it up in the morning. I've never taken it in the water. I'm not sure if the older ones were water-resistant but I think the newer ones. I love my Speedmaster, I can still read it without glasses. I too hate watches with so many complications you can't read them. BTW, as a general aviation pilot since 1969, I used to use the Chronograph to time checkpoints during cross country flights. The Speedmaster was a logical choice. As a SONAR supervisor, I was always within a few ticks of time to the computers in COC (combat operations center).
I have a Speedmaster and I love the watch. These days, I have some reservations about the company. Omega continues to produce a multitude of editions based on the the Speedy. Getting too much like Seiko with all of their special editions, limited editions, etc.
I own and love a Speedy but there’s no contest here. Sub. Although I will say one thing more. Owning a Speedy often says, “I’m a watch lover.” Owning a Sub, for many, many non-enthusiasts (note: NOT people like you Guy and many others in the community) often says, “Look at me!” Despite its understated, basic design, the Sub is basically THEE watch, as it were. Everyone knows it. Everyone. A lot of people like that. Still amazing IMo
The fact that what Rolex is doing to its customer is what turns me off totally to this brand. Omega Speedmaster gets my vote. Buy the watch and keep it. Don’t concern yourself about the depreciation. Just enjoy the beauty and history that this watch brings to your wrist. Put it on a NATO strap. It looks even better!
Buy what you like because only people who are into watches are going to notice your watch. I suggest that if you ARE going to buy both of these watches, then find an AD that has both Omega and Rolex, buy the Speedster and tell them you also want the Submariner. That accomplishes 2 things, 1. You have one of these 2 amazing watches to wear right now while you wait for the other one 2. You now have a buying history at the AD and they are more likely to get you the Submariner
Just got a Seamaster Diver 300M this week, didn't even notice the He escape valve until you mentioned it in this video. It's funny I was the kind of person who hated the valve when I first saw it on the internet. However, in person the little valve is really small and doesn't get in the way of anything. I even started to appreciate it now because it's an added function.
Blue pelagos and speedy for me. Same price as a sub and covers so many bases. The sub is too common for me, it's a great watch and I'm still looking to get a no date sub next year but I worry that seeing them every day on my commute will annoy me after a while
What a great comparison video. For me it’s a no brainer, I’ll take the Speedy all day, everyday, and twice on Sundays. I recognize that the standard Submariner is the most iconic dive watch, it just does nothing phor me, in fact it does less than nothing phor me. The only Submariner variant that I really like is the Bluesy. My overall favorite diver is the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms. Thanks as always for the great video Guy.
JustBlueFish Watch Reviews well I’m much more of a Seamaster fan. So many things about the Submariner aesthetically I don’t like and a few less about the Speedmaster I don’t like that puts it over the top for me.
Own both love both. Keepers for sure. If you’re only getting one the Submariner is the better choice. Left my name and number with an AD I had no history with and received a call 5 months later and offered me the Submariner. With a little patience it is attainable at retail. Great content. Thanks for sharing.
Just picked up my first speedmaster and I think one day I will also get myself the Submariner. These are just two classic titans. Amzing video and thank you for your work!
One watch is the result of continuous improvement while the other is an anachronism (unchanged on purpose). So different goals and thus not a fair comparison.
Bani Niba - very good point well made! However, just because things are different doesn’t mean one shouldn’t compare them. Some people (like me) could only afford one of these beauties so I had to go through my own comparison and make a decision. I bought neither in the end and got a Sea Dweller 😂
I do own a speedy on hesalite & sub no date. I recently purchased my speedy and i'm simply loving it. currently got it on a black aligator strap and it looks dapper. The chrono adds a bit more flavour to the watch as it makes the dial a lot more buzzier than the sub. However i do wear my sub for special occasions as it has been with me for over 3 years and it will be in my collection forever along with my speedy!
Definitely the latest Speedmaster in Hesalite with the 3861 movement and the new tapered bracelet for me. There are so many people who buy a Rolex and have no clue about watches and just don't care - it's a way for them to show off their wealth and achievement and that's it. The Speedy is for the true watch enthusiast, is more discreet and less noticeable, but is a great conversation starter for those who know what it is. It also pairs so well with literally anything I would wear, from a suit to a t-shirt. For me, my deep love of space since I was a kid made this a complete no-brainer. So great to have such an iconic piece of space history on my wrist!! I think I would rather have a Breitling Navitimer for my next watch instead of a Submariner, but that's just me.
That's a tough one; I would have 2 go with the Rolex Submariner just based on my lifestyle. Thanks, for this review on two Iconic heavyweights....if the Omega has a better depth rating, I would say this is a toss up for me.# Respect for both
i have a speedmaster and love it, its understated, i think i have had 1-2 comments over the few years of owning it and that suits me fine, like wise thats what puts me off the sub, i like the design but i dont like the aura that surrounds the model.i mean the look at me brigade, also for a mass produced watch its way over priced and thats a fact.if Rolex wasnt on the dial the same watch 2-3k at most
flyinb45 100% agree. I actually am considering parting with my speedy and navitimer for the ceramic bluesy (have ceramic no date sub and DJ as well). Since getting the sub, speedy really doesn’t get much wrist time. Even less than navitimer. Speedy is cool, but it got boring.
@@mshaf8543 only way to go! Biggest decision is the oyster vs. jubilee. New models don't have the hidden clasp, which I preferred. The oyster seems to flow better.
Omega Speedmaster is easy to get (most models). But the problem with the Speedmaster is that there are way too many models, too many special editions, too many movements, too many sizes, Hesalite, sapphire. As for the Submariner, they play hard to get. MSRP between the two not that much different, but by the time you compare street prices (Rolex watches are sold at 2-3X MSRP or more), the choice becomes much easier to make. The Rolex as it is in current environment is way more expensive. That makes the Omega a much better value.
I have a Sub (114060) and recently sold my Speedmaster (huge mistake BTW). Both are awesome watches and I plan on getting another Speedmaster in the near future. As far as buying advice goes, if you have other watches (especially other dive watches) just get the Speedmaster. The insanity that is going on right now with Rolex is frustrating/annoying/silly. You can walk into any Omega boutique or AD and get a Speedmaster below MSRP any day of the week. However, if you don't mind waiting or already have a relationship with an AD and want what I think is the best everyday watch, get the Sub. It goes with everything and can handle anything you throw at it. You can't go wrong wither way.
Two if the most iconic watches, but beyond that, they are apples and oranges. IMO the Sub is the better 'luxury' watch, whereas the Speedy is the more historical watch. The Speedy is like buying an original 911 as new in 2019, old school charm, but lacks the modern conveniences. The Sub is like buying a 992 in 2019, modern evolution of a classic, with modern bells and whistles, but is related to the original in name and aesthetic only.
The watches are apples and oranges but they are two of the most popular watches, and I’m asked all the time which one a person should buy - hence the need to compare.
@@JustBlueFish appreciate the video, and keep up the good work. I was merely adding my thought on this topic, and want to highlight that prospective buyers shouldn't really compare them directly.
Great video. Tough choice. Both are great ‘purist’ models within their own brand lines. The sub was designed so well, it became its own worst enemy. Due to its great design, the market is flooded with blacks subs, counterfeit subs, and homage subs from many brands (Tudor, Invicta, etc). The sub is the perfect intersection of prestige, relative affordability, aesthetic, and versatility. The speedy is much more subtle. Watch enthusiasts will respect it, and it’s far more distinguished than the sub. Not quite as versatile or prestigious in the eyes of non-watch enthusiasts though. The choice comes down to your motivation for buying the piece. That will drive the choice that is right for you. Get both if you can.
I think a lot of what makes both watches so popular has to do with their flexibility. Both watches can be robust tool watches, board room wrist candy, and anything in between.
If I was a watch geek who could only have one I'd go speedy as it's an enthusiasts watch and a strap monster. If I just wanted the best watch and had the money I'd go Rolex. If I had a dive/chronograph already that I loved it would sway my opinion- i.e. if I had an el primero or planet ocean already I wouldnt buy a similar style. In real life I would actually get a blue pelagos and speedy on the grey market for the combined price of a sub. The 300m WR and the chronograph are equally redundant to most normal people. The chronograph can be used as a date indicator though
I understand the aim of the video but I make two respectful observations: 1) I don’t see many people cross-shopping these two watches (based on price, features, image, etc), and 2) the Speedmaster is an intentionally anachronistic product, that has intentionally eschewed “improvements” in favor of preserving a specific thing, while the Sub is the current pinnacle of Rolex’s focus of entry level dive watch value and innovation. Comparing the new Seamaster master chronometer to the sub would be much more relevant and beneficial.
Great review. I will say that having had both, it just depends on my mood. They’re both amazing watches and it would be unusual to be disappointed by either. Twice in my life someone saw my Speedy Tuesday Ultraman and pointed it out admiringly. And it felt good 😄
Had a 14060 and it was hugely disappointing. I wish I’d bought a new 5513 when they were £695 thirty years ago. The Speedmaster is a better looking watch and I never get asked if it’s a replica when I wear it.
You mentioned that the Sub is your most comfortable watch on the wrist. Have you ever tried on an Oris 65? I don’t own one (the styling isn’t for me) but I tried one on at an AD and it was the most comfortable watch I have ever worn
I look at watches in a pretty controversial way I think. If I hold these 2 against each other the Speedmaster wins hands down. The speedmaster is not (yet?) cloned to a convincing level. The Submariner is faked to such a degree that even AD's have to open them to be sure, which has in my opinion completely devalued the submariner
Great video Guy, You need to add a GMT to your collection. You should do a series of GMT comparisons and feedback on the FB group to help you come to a decision.
I bought the speedmaster once and returned it unworn after a few days. It would look so much better if it had a deep black dial instead of that matte charcoal grey. It's simply too plain. The timekeeping was very average as well. I would like to see them make one with a ceramic bezel, deep black dial and with an applied logo, that would be a killer watch.
I got the Submariner 114060; it's my favorite. I like the Speedmaster a lot though. I'll get one of those eventually, but there are several other watches higher on my priority list right now.
Both, but in terms of durability and functionality for everyday, then the sub since the speedy is pretty fragile w/the hesalite and can’t be worn in the ocean or a pool. That being said, it’s so classic and goes w everything making it fun to change straps frequently.
A chronograph is much more useful than a dive watch, e.g. using the timing function when cooking. As for a dive watch, the vast majority of owners don't go diving - hell, some owners don't even know how to swim! What they are doing when they buy a dive watch is to make a statement, much like a city slicker buying an oversized SUV.
Ya I think I mistakenly quoted that date because the original lemania cal 2310 that the Omega caliber 321 chronograph movement is based off of was in development in ‘42.
Great video Guy. I was fortunate enough to purchase a 2023 Submariner and a 2023 Speedmaster Moonwatch so I agree with your advice to buy both if you can. I bought the Moonshine Gold rubber bracelet with stainless clasp and it made the Speedy much more enjoyable to wear. Two truly excellent watches. Cheers.
Not sure about Rolex Submariner being less flashy than the Speedmaster. Everybody and their dogs know what Rolex is. Especially the Submariner. Nobody notices a Speedmaster as it looks like a watch designed in 60s. I would like you to review a JLC Reverso just to realise how poorly Speedmasters and Subs are made.
Small point of contention. I’d argue Zodiac beat both Blancpain and Rolex to market with what has become the blueprint for dive watches. Zodiac brought theirs to market in ‘53 for widespread distribution while Blancpain’’s was purpose built for a military contract I believe. Also, Zodiac best both in regards to depth rating.
Agree with you on this one. The sub is a first choice from functional and appearance point of view. And even if you ding it a bit you'll add only more character and it retains the value nevertheless. Cheers V.
I always preferred the Smp over the sub, my first watch was an original SmpC. copped an Explorer 214270 mark II next and for those two together payed roughly what the Sub date retails for now. Will be adding the speedy to the collection at the end of this month and it’s fair to say I’m ‘over the moon’ with idea of them as a 3 piece!! Great comparison also, by far the best on RUclips, thanks!
For the perfect one watch collection the suby is the epidemy of tool watches, is rugged, can withstand any everyday environment and it will last a lifetime, you can sell it for even a higher price than retail and also you can pass it to the next generation and it will keep working forever, dive watches all the way.
I took ur advice, Guy. Now this watch can be had on the grey market (complete set) for around 4k, even less. But, on ur advice, I went to my AD, haggled like a MOFO & paid 4,400 out the door
I could definitely use the replacement Omega clasp you put on your Speedmaster. Does Omega offer it online on their site, or did you find it elsewhere?
Let's be honest, most people today do not have watch etiquette, they will wear a watch with whatever-they want their watch to be seen, especially "expensive" watches. Neither one of these watches should be worn with a suit. I know my opinion will be disliked by most people and that is ok, that's why I like all types of watches and am a watch enthusiast and I do agree with everyone doing there thing with their watch. Wear them in health. One last thing, most people wear a watch that is too big for their wrist. Let the disagreeing commence. Thanks for the great videos.
Chris Williamson fashion and tastes change. The JLC Reverso was conceived as a sports watch but most people today consider it a dress watch. Most men dressing up would wear hats, just a generation or two ago. And I’m not talking baseball caps. I wear a suit daily and I find my speedy with a black alligator strap goes just as well as my dress watch, a Hamilton 38 mm Intramatic.
I am lucky to own both. 16610 and 005 And these are all I need. The speedy is more dressy, I wear it with business shirts etc. The Sub is more sporty and goes well with polo shirts and t shirts. The steel on Sub is tougher and it’s bomb proof. When wearing the speedy I am Always more careful because of the hesalite glass. The speedy looks more mature and sophisticated while the sub feels more energetic. I don’t need another watch like AP or PP. these two complete my soul
Love the Speedy Pro, but it's not Chronometer / Water / Scratch Resistant enough (the sapphire sandwich is NOT a Speedy Pro it's a replica... fight me.)
id love a sub, the no date version is probably my favourite watch ever, but i cant justify the price, and now it has gone up even more for 2020 ive heard, i went for a tudor bb36, it has the gloss black dial which is my favourite part of the sub, my oris aquis and seiko mini turtle have my dive watch bases covered, the speedy will be my final watch
I chose the submariner because I’ll be able to take it on vacation and swim with it if I choose to do so. Just more piece of mind for life starting a family with kids. It arrives in December as a MBA grad present to myself.
Human perception is interesting. IMHO the Rolex is by far, far, far, and away the more "clockable" piece of jewelry. I live in a wealthy area outside NYC and everyone here would notice the Rolex. No one would give the Speedy a second glance (other than the 1 in 1000 watch guy).
i finally added the speedmaster to the collection ,the pro moon great piece and no remorse but the lume compared to my sub triple zero that was serviced over 15 years ago has longer lasting lume than the omega i just bought new 3 days
I don't know man. Everybody knows Rolex. Almost nobody knows Omega. One reason why I wear Omega ... it's not so in-your-face like Rolex is. Less of a show-off watch.
If you can get them at retail, the Sub wins... however the reality is you can get the Speedy at decent discount even at an AD, and they are available. The Sub? Good luck buying it at retail. I was lucky enough to trade my Speedy for a 16600 Sea Dweller but that was 20years ago. Not likely to happen today.
Ya I think I mistakenly quoted that date because the original lemania cal 2310 that the Omega caliber 321 chronograph movement is based off of was in development in ‘42.
There is a hint of the Speedy dial design being borrowed. I don't know this to be 100% true. I have to investigate a little more before l decide to get one. Great video as always. Why NASA chose a watch with 30 meter water resistance for astronauts whose spacecraft splashes down in the Ocean is a little odd though.
Its 50m and it's more than adequate for the pool or splashing down- NASA obviously dont have the paranoia of WR that people on fora and social media do 😁
@@FatSamEIE. Your quite right about its water resistance. But thats about it. Go in the water and accidentally touch a pusher, by by Speedy. Not paranoid. Intelligent.

The Speedmaster bezel is 40mm. It’s the “crown guards” between the pushers which are technically part of the case that bring it up to 42mm.

When everything is limited, nothing is.
It’s definitely the watch, tons for of love for the Sub, but the Speedmaster has a certain something special.
It has become the brag watch bought by many people who really have no love of watches.
That accomplishes 2 things,
1. You have one of these 2 amazing watches to wear right now while you wait for the other one
It’s really not that obtrusive.
I own the explorer, GMT Rolex and the Speedy. I don't know why but I have more connection with the good old speedy.
I don’t have as much connection with the Speedmaster. It’s cool but it takes a back seat to the Submariner for me.
I have a sub (no date), GMT and speedy. I love the speedy but the sub is just amazing :-)
I would take the Speedmaster all day I just don't find the Submariner attractive and kind of a little boring
I completely agree
Save a ton of money too!
Blue pelagos and speedy for me. Same price as a sub and covers so many bases. The sub is too common for me, it's a great watch and I'm still looking to get a no date sub next year but I worry that seeing them every day on my commute will annoy me after a while
in the used market, the subs are way over priced now.
This. Especially when the pre maxi-case ones are what the ceramic no dates used to be (~$7500)
What a great comparison video.
The Bluesy is awesome. I did a video on one a while back, loved that watch.
Omega of course, :)
I like them both but have a hard time picking the Speedmaster over the Submariner.
I agree
JustBlueFish Watch Reviews well I’m much more of a Seamaster fan. So many things about the Submariner aesthetically I don’t like and a few less about the Speedmaster I don’t like that puts it over the top for me.
Own both love both. Keepers for sure. If you’re only getting one the Submariner is the better choice. Left my name and number with an AD I had no history with and received a call 5 months later and offered me the Submariner. With a little patience it is attainable at retail. Great content. Thanks for sharing.
5 months isn’t so bad.
i waited 4 months, but paid a premium, at an AD in hong kong.
Do you want a watch that has seen fish or do you want a watch that has been on the moon? - SPEEDMASTER for the win.
Just picked up my first speedmaster and I think one day I will also get myself the Submariner. These are just two classic titans. Amzing video and thank you for your work!
Thanks for watching!
Great review. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness. Love both watches, but the Speedmaster wears a variety of straps a lot better than the sub.
That’s the truth. The Speedmaster is a strap monster.
One watch is the result of continuous improvement while the other is an anachronism (unchanged on purpose). So different goals and thus not a fair comparison.
They are two of the most popular watches, and I’m asked all the time which one a person should buy - hence the need to compare.
Different price points too.
Bani Niba - very good point well made! However, just because things are different doesn’t mean one shouldn’t compare them. Some people (like me) could only afford one of these beauties so I had to go through my own comparison and make a decision. I bought neither in the end and got a Sea Dweller 😂
They are both icons. That alone makes them worthy of this type of comparison.
JB gets it.
Great honest true blue review Guy. The MOTM is on my radar. Do hope you can share the reference/part no. for the clasp upgrade?
I did a whole video on the clasp upgrade including part numbers. Check my older videos.
"Haggling like a MOFO!" LOL. Guy you can be very funny when you want to be. Time 15:29
Funny, but true!
I have owned a number of Speedmaster's vintage and late production. I have swam surfed and dived with them all, no issues.
That's a tough one; I would have 2 go with the Rolex Submariner just based on my lifestyle. Thanks, for this review on two Iconic heavyweights....if the Omega has a better depth rating, I would say this is a toss up for me.# Respect for both
Thanks for watching.
i have a speedmaster and love it, its understated, i think i have had 1-2 comments over the few years of owning it and that suits me fine, like wise thats what puts me off the sub, i like the design but i dont like the aura that surrounds the model.i mean the look at me brigade, also for a mass produced watch its way over priced and thats a fact.if Rolex wasnt on the dial the same watch 2-3k at most
I have both and have contemplated parting with the Speedmaster because it just doesn't get the wrist time. Great review
flyinb45 100% agree. I actually am considering parting with my speedy and navitimer for the ceramic bluesy (have ceramic no date sub and DJ as well).
Since getting the sub, speedy really doesn’t get much wrist time. Even less than navitimer.
Speedy is cool, but it got boring.
@@mshaf8543 I'm considering unloading the Speedy and a Carrera for a new DJ 36 blue dial. Classic, bulletproof and versatile
flyinb45 do it! Fluted bezel!
@@mshaf8543 only way to go! Biggest decision is the oyster vs. jubilee. New models don't have the hidden clasp, which I preferred. The oyster seems to flow better.
Great comparison, get the leather strap with deployment clasp for the Speedy it is the best and more comfortable way to wear it
For retained value and flip for a good chunk of profit the Subby , for me to love and enjoy, the Speedy, hands down!
Proud new owner of 1861 Speedy.. It is the one to have .So many subtle benefits to the new one. I love it
I have a Sub (114060) and recently sold my Speedmaster (huge mistake BTW).
Good advice here.
Put the Rolex Oyster bracelet on the Speedmaster. It fits perfectly.
I Own both! Both are the top dogs on the iconic Status in different ways they are the 2 must have in a watch collection!
Great analogy, I’d have a 993 or 964 over a 992 or 991 so yeah.
Good answer, thanks.
I am a simple man, i saw watches i click it.
Thanks for watching buddy.
Between those two, I prefer the Speedy. Especially for the look. For me, the Sub must be pre-ceramic and no-date.
A Speedmaster and a 14060M would be a nice combo.
JustBlueFish Watch Reviews Yes but yours is not bad too!
Thanks for watching.
I have an Omega Speedmaster 861 from 1971, the accuracy of the movement is 1.8 seconds, this is a great watch
You mentioned that the Sub is your most comfortable watch on the wrist. Have you ever tried on an Oris 65? I don’t own one (the styling isn’t for me) but I tried one on at an AD and it was the most comfortable watch I have ever worn
I have and like it, but haven’t worn one for more than a few minutes at the dealer, so can’t comment on the long term comfort.
The Rolex Submariner is a decent watch but people of good taste are more inclined to the Omega Speedmaster Professional.
Great video Guy, You need to add a GMT to your collection. You should do a series of GMT comparisons and feedback on the FB group to help you come to a decision.
Not a bad idea.
Thank you for this thoughtful video. It was very helpful.
Glad you liked it, thanks.
I have a Speedy on the crocodile strap, a present from my MD 😊
I got the Submariner 114060; it's my favorite. I like the Speedmaster a lot though. I'll get one of those eventually, but there are several other watches higher on my priority list right now.
Never went to the moon! I’ll take the Sub! Though I have a Speedy Reduced with a whopping 46 Jewels, and a 16610.
I own a Rolex Submariner but i think the Speedmaster (Hesilite) will be my next
speedmaster debuted in 1957
Ya I think I mistakenly quoted that date because the original lemania cal 2310 that the Omega caliber 321 chronograph movement is based off of was in development in ‘42.
Cheers.
Used Sub , vs New Speedmaster , wanna get one if them , what would you buy ????
Appreciate the advice ...
Both great options can't go wrong either way. But if I had to choose just one I'd go Submariner.
Thanks for watching
@@JustBlueFish I love your stuff. Review a Reverso.
Nice video mate
Thanks for watching.
Speedmaster hands down and more than half the cost.
Agree with you on this one. The sub is a first choice from functional and appearance point of view. And even if you ding it a bit you'll add only more character and it retains the value nevertheless. Cheers V.
Thanks!
Turn the bezel on the Seamaster, then turn the bezel on a submariner. That says it all
For the perfect one watch collection the suby is the epidemy of tool watches, is rugged, can withstand any everyday environment and it will last a lifetime, you can sell it for even a higher price than retail and also you can pass it to the next generation and it will keep working forever, dive watches all the way.
Agreed.
I took ur advice, Guy. Now this watch can be had on the grey market (complete set) for around 4k, even less. But, on ur advice, I went to my AD, haggled like a MOFO & paid 4,400 out the door
Awesome, good job.
Speedmaster the submariner and Daytona are the perfect collection
Daytona is a tough one.
Wait... Why would you get a Daytona in this scenario? You already have a Rolex and a chronograph.
I like both, but if I had to choose the Omega would win
I could definitely use the replacement Omega clasp you put on your Speedmaster. Does Omega offer it online on their site, or did you find it elsewhere?
I ordered it at the boutique. I have a video showing all the part numbers and how to install it.
Thanks for watching!
Speedy + Tudor Black Bay.
Best of both worlds without the wrong kind of attention.
MichaelOC _ , only problem there is that the black bay isn’t the best of the diving world, the submariner is.
@@whereRbearsTeeth At one time, the Sub was up there with the Fifty Fathoms. Not any more, however.
@@jdkimple LoL!
THEE ROLEX GMT MASTER 2 W/ CERAMIC DIAL AND SAPPHIRE CRYSTAL IS ANOTHER NEAT LUXURY WATCH.
Love the Speedy Pro, but it's not Chronometer / Water / Scratch Resistant enough (the sapphire sandwich is NOT a Speedy Pro it's a replica... fight me.)
The current Speedy Pro isn't the real Moonwatch. 1861 movement vs 321...
Both awesome in their own right. My vote for submariner though
Agreed
id love a sub, the no date version is probably my favourite watch ever, but i cant justify the price, and now it has gone up even more for 2020 ive heard, i went for a tudor bb36, it has the gloss black dial which is my favourite part of the sub, my oris aquis and seiko mini turtle have my dive watch bases covered, the speedy will be my final watch
Amazing review i listen this when i back from work like a audiobook btw...i check speedmaster at ad, pushers not always work at first push :/
Thanks buddy
That's True .. you see these two the most. Followed by the navitimer.. at least in Austria. In Vienna you get to the Portugueser a lot.
I chose the submariner because I’ll be able to take it on vacation and swim with it if I choose to do so. Just more piece of mind for life starting a family with kids. It arrives in December as a MBA grad present to myself.
Loved the presentation. Thank You 😊 I’ll take a look at your Facebook link.
I got compliments for my Seiko 5 all the time at work. I do have a public facing job tho.
Good video - all good stuff!
Thanks Jeff!
So true about no one noticing your watch. If you buy one of these, you had better buy it for your own self to look at.
i finally added the speedmaster to the collection ,the pro moon great piece and no remorse but the lume compared to my sub triple zero that was serviced over 15 years ago has longer lasting lume than the omega i just bought new 3 days
I don't know man. Everybody knows Rolex. Almost nobody knows Omega. One reason why I wear Omega ... it's not so in-your-face like Rolex is. Less of a show-off watch.
Nice video and please share more videos and wonderful contents😁
Thanks for watching.
The Rolex Explorer, the only watch you will ever need
If you can get them at retail, the Sub wins... however the reality is you can get the Speedy at decent discount even at an AD, and they are available. The Sub? Good luck buying it at retail. I was lucky enough to trade my Speedy for a 16600 Sea Dweller but that was 20years ago. Not likely to happen today.
Omega Speedmaster came out in 1957, not 1942.
This is correct. I'm not sure why he says that. Very odd
Ya I think I mistakenly quoted that date because the original lemania cal 2310 that the Omega caliber 321 chronograph movement is based off of was in development in ‘42.
@@JustBlueFish The Seamaster and Railmaster debuted in 1957 also. What a year for Omega!!!!
Is it only 30m, I thought it was 50 off the top of my head. That’s even worse!
