defenestratedone I understand if you cannot get it for retail through an AD. However when available it is always a good buy. It is the flippers and grey dealers that are creating this shitty market.
ThuhoanNguyen I actually love the Omegas Hahahaha. But several times went through the back and forth with local ADs on getting no date Sub and GMT master ii. Just didn’t like experience. Plenty of other great watch brands out there.

Niall Duffy this is the worst one, he shoulda compared the blue seamaster to the black sub, but in what tangible way is the Rolex any better? Because the sub is subpar compared to the omega. Submariner doesn’t even have anti reflective on the glass. Plus it’s vulnerable to being magnetized the 300m is not. The domed glass on the Seamaster is more durable and expensive. No helium escape valve on the sub. AR coating on front and back side of front glass with the Seamaster no coating on the Rolex.
lovely combo, exactly what I want to buy in the upcoming weeks. But sadly my boutique is closed because of covid regualtions in germany.. so i'll have to wait till Fabruary/march :(
Hi Bruce. Almost everything is spot on, but I disagree with the score for the movement. Cal. 3135 is good and even if it is more accurate and with higher beat rate, the 8800 comes ahead due to increased power reserve, low friction co-axial escapement, titanium balance wheel and silicone hairspring (a-magnetic, durable, temperature resistant, less or no lubrication). Rolex's next gen caliber 3235 is comparable to the 8800, but the 3135 is lacking.
Definitely not. Bruce is absolutely spot on with this score as well imho. I don't want to offend anybody here in the comments but I think none of you do own both watches or even had more than one Rolex and / or Omega to have an own personal experience. Bruce does and I do and I could not agree more. The fancy materials and stuff used in the Omega calibers sound nice but a movement needs to be accurate and reliable. The 3135 proved both whilst the Omega Master Chronometer movements don't have that good reputation for a reason.
Omega easy win for me, Submariner style just done to death (too ubiquitous) & the status symbol image is a real turn off for me personally.🤷🏼♂️ Brave of you to tackle this, given how entrenched & vitriolic fans of either brand can get ( 🤣 they're only watches folks!!) Cheers mate 👍🏻👍🏻

Adam Badillo exactly THIS! It‘s SO DUMB of people to think they do homages of the Sub because it‘s the better design... It‘s just because it‘s Rolex, a status symbol and other just might think you own a Rolex...
Nice video although the outcome was predictable;) A while ago I got a call from an Rolex AD to pick up an Sub 114060. I tried it on for the first time and wasn’t too excited. I also tried the date, same. I noticed it felt like I had that watch already owned, because it’s so present and you see it everywhere. Which makes it kinda boring? So I didn’t purchase it at the end. I will go with an Omega PO 600m instead. Thanks for the video and Stay safe!
Well the difference in quality between both watches might be negligible, but the difference in price and purchase experience are not. Rolex is certainly a great brand, but what is the point of this hulk being better than the omega when you would not be able to buy it the first time u decide to walk into rolex AD. The hulk might be a better watch at three times the price, but generally u can feel omega seamaster gets more love in the community. Look at that beautiful case back from the seamaster! Seamaster just has more character i think and is not priced at an over inflated price. Thanks for the review anyway.
I would have given Omega a 10 for box/extras, crystal execution, & movement and 9 for lume & Design/Versatility. This would put the Omega at a score of 92 in my opinion and beating the Submariner.
Well, when you buy a watch, you’re not buying it because the ‘Box/extras’ it’s not happy meal you know😂. Poor design it’s the actual pain point on the Omega. And who knows🤷🏻♂️, maybe that caliber it’s a super modified ETA🥶
Producer A.K.A Box and extra’s do count and they are part of the luxury experience especially if you’re buying the watch new. Also in terms of design, that’s all your opinion. The movement is not a modified ETA, let’s not throw unnecessary disses! You can literally see the movement through the caseback. If you don’t like one or the other, that’s fine but there’s no need for the pointless hate 🙌🏻
@@LuisFranciscoAguilar You seriously like the looks of that Rolex?? I know beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, but oh my... maybe it is a generation difference thing.
Summary of the video: Rolex is a slightly nicer watch but Omega is a WAY better buy as a watch lover. Yeah, I'd buy a Seamaster over Submariner too. However, I am not attracted to them as much as other watches in my list.
Congrats, you've done the almost impossible to compare such 2 titans. The availability trouble is against Rolex, whilst the looks of the Omega leaves no other option, but to buy. One, who wishes to escape that choice, takes the Lange. Cheers fm Singapore+
I don’t like that people argue that the Omega doesn’t hold value and the Rolex increases. If you buy a watch with the intention of selling it, then you don’t care about the watch itself. It should just be enjoyed every day until it is ready to be passed down. Not stuffed in a safe until it’s worth more. If people are so concerned with how much money they’re going to get back, maybe they shouldn’t be spending money on expensive watches in the first place.
If I could actually buy the rolex at the retail price i would probably side with it. But considering the inflated premium you have to pay on the grey market I would definatly go with the Omega all day.
Me to I love my Great white and actually would love a Hulk but when to purchase right now 2nd hand as new the Rolex is 5 times the price of a White Seamaster 300m I'm thinking well lets just enjoy the Omega.
Well, who'd have thought it,, the Rolex comes out on top,, !! Lol,, If someone gave me a Hulk, I'd immediately sell it, and get 2 smp's,,, ha ha.. It's all a matter of personal preference and taste,, Whatever floats your boat, as they say,,, Great video though Bruce,,.
I bought a brand new SMP 300 on bracelet for 1/3 the price of the cheapest used hulk on Chrono24. The two watches are so close, it would be a hard decision if they were the same price. With the Rolex at 3x the price, there’s no way it’s 3x better.
The Submariner design is so boring for current-day eyeballs. So many ugly design choices - slab-sided super case with clumsy looking lugs, cyclops, Mercedes hands.
That was the most balanced comparison between those two watches I have seen. Personally I'd buy the Seamaster over the sub. The design is more interesting, and it lacks the Rolex baggage.
Great review as always. You may want to check the math on the Hulk as it adds up to 89 and not 91. This is a much better and more factual comparison than a couple of other watch channels. Please do more of these, Bruce.
I really love how you always manage to show off the watches under natural light. I love both of these watches. My diver of choice is the Seamaster 300 master coaxial that you reviewed a while back. Simply because it is a little more reserved for every day wear. But I would definitely love to own one of these as a more playful alternative.
I got both in my hand and easly decided to buy the Omega. The Seamaster with the black watchface is my present for my incoming birthday. Greeting from Germany.
I own a Sub, a SD 43, and Seamaster Diver 300 and the new Planet Ocean orange bezel. I love them all, but Omega takes all categories for me. Comfort, complexity of design, better movement (all of my METAS movements are within a second while Rolex teeters at the 2 second mark), and “it” factor. Both have robustness like no other. Rolex has the better bezel action for sure though. Best I’ve ever felt.
Bruce, the Rolex scored 89. Your chart says 91. I have both watches as well. The Omega always leaves me a little cold. There is a slight femininity to it that never quite settles with me. A girlfriend saw all my watches and then bought herself a blue Seamaster. The Rolex feels more classically masculine. The watch I prefer over both of them is Omega Planet Ocean.
Phenomenal review, very fairly and objectively done. One small thing that I was hoping you'd address was the microadjust on both. I have a Sub and an SmP, and VASTLY prefer the SmP's microadjust over the Rolex Glidelock since you can easily adjust it while it's on your wrist, whereas you need to take the Sub all the way off and carefully do the adjustment to get to the right size increment. Ultimately I agree with your assessment of the Sub coming out slightly ahead, but with the microadjust (and display caseback) I think the SmP is an 88-89 for me.
Most experts agree that the new Seamaster is a better watch than the Rolex 3135 Submariner in just about everyway. Specially when it comes to the new movement in the Omega. And mine keeps nearly perfect time sitting straight on the time grapher.
Pretty harsh on the omega. Not any mention that we can actually see the beautiful omega movement compared to the Rolex, which we can’t see? Definitely disagree with the movement part of the video. It’s also pretty sweet being able to buy the omega... Good review tho
Good comparison 🙂 Seems to be a little mistake with the calculations, the total for the Rolex is 89, not 91. I would choose the Omega, but i would go for the black and white version.
12:11 100% true, all my Omega watches, including older 1120 movements, have poor accuracy when sitting idle. That means when you go to bed and wake up you could see around 4 seconds deviation... my old 3130 movement Rolex is still running at 1-2 seconds a day regardless of positioning...
I feel that if you covered so many sub-headings, you could have added four more - value proposition, availability, versatility and servicing. It would have been much closer, if not a trouncing of the overpriced Algae.
Hi Bruce, if you factored in a ‘value’ score or ‘availability’ score the results would have been even closer. I ended up with a Seamaster and a BB58 and still spent less!
Good perspectives on both. Rolex Brand/Perception is slipping. No way is it a 9. I'm noticing a more derisory attitudes towards Rolex these days. Even from current owners. Personally I'm glad Rolex made their watches "unobtainium" before I got into luxury watches. They saved me thousands!
The Curse of owning a Rolex "And I would Know", it is the temptation to sell it. In the Back of your mind there is always the thought of selling it. Its hard to Enjoy something you are always thinking about parting with. I used to own a Sub, now I have 2 Omegas and they are Great! When i wore my Sub I was way too conscience of it, always worried about hitting it on something, or scratches it. For half the Price of the Sub, the Omega is by Far the best Buy!
I own both of these watches and love both for different reasons. I purchased the Sub ten years ago before the artificial supply nonsense and my enthusiasm for this watch hasn't waned since I was a kid. Classic and comfortable and possessed of the best stainless bracelet in the game for my wrist. The Omega SMP 300 (2018) is a watch that I wear as a daily driver and have shown no mercy for a year and a half, or so. It revels in taking a beating and does so without fuss or resistance. I'm sure the Omega will have more stories to tell at the end of its useful life and perhaps that's the mark of a true favourite. Accurate and very comfortable on strap, I can't fault this watch in any way except to say that for me the metal bracelet is not at all in the same league as the Oyster. But; if it came down to brass tacks, my 40 year connection to the roller gets my vote as my desert island timepiece. Cheers.
Love both but far prefer Omega as a brand, as everyone else has said the marketing BS shows the Rolex are for status conscious guys and the Omega is for watch guys. For me if I want the status I’d get the Blancpain 50 Fathoms.
Good point, in my opinion they are finished very well and I would mark them even aesthetically. Both very well machine finished. Tudor on the other hand which is technically the same price competitor would be a step below Omega no doubt
This is definitely one of the more mediocre among your reviews... can‘t relate to the high praise for the Submariner, especially when comparing it to the Seamaster. Some of those categories are rather irrelevant: what do I care about brand/model meandering some 30+ year ago... More relevant would be the current pricing policy for instance. Can‘t fight the feeling that the Rolex just had to win this one…
no worries man. I always speak from my own experience and recognize that many will have differing opinions. I kind of expected the comments to be a crap show against Rolex to be honest.
Bruce Williams thanks for getting back to me 👍🏼 Keep up the good work, I really dig the content and appreciate the effort you put in your videos. I forgot to mention this in my first comment... Unfortunately just didn‘t fancy this one that much. Looking forward to tons of great work from you in the future. Cheers, Tom
Another gem,Bruce.I could walk into any store and purchase the seamaster and at a discount. It would be a long, long time before I could buy the superb rolex,at retail price ! You have provided us the a most comprehensive and logical comparison however. Once again,I would love to have both of these watches. Keep well and stay safe.
I'm with with you most of the way with this one Bruce but their's a few problems. Where is the value category? Any purchase decision should have a value category. The value is a 9 for the Omega and 6 for the Rolex in my humble opinion putting the supply games to one side. Also 10 for design on the Rolex with those maxi lugs? I don't think so. If they were slimmer and the bezel was smooth without the dirt catcher text a 10 for sure. Last of all Bruce your maths is not so great, I make that 89 not 91 for the Rolex. All the best Bruce and I actually like them both about the same but they don't cost the same.
I have four Rolex watches (one Datejust, one black date/cyclops Sub, one two tone date/cyclops Sub, and one GMT Master II), but I’m not going to buy a grey market model today. I’m trying to get my next one from the AD, but may have to wait for a while, if I ever get another one. But, I feel the Omega Seamaster Pro is more advanced than the Rolex, and the open case back is just beautiful. I have an Omega DeVille and love the watch and it is also gorgeous. My next watch may just be a Seamaster Pro over the Rolex Explorer II (which is the next Rolex that I would like). Thanks for the show...
Michael Riera 100% absolutely. I buy a watch largely due to the fact that I love it works mechanically with moving gears and a beating heart. To be able to see that would be awesome. And Rolex could spend a little time decorating it, cost shouldn’t be an issue ... we’re willing to pay and they charge quite a bit
I have my seamaster crown up at night and it hasn’t gained or lost a second in about a month!! I’ve tested multiple positions and crown up at night and on the wrist during the day keeps it extremely accurate In my experience.
A very nice comparison between two stunning pieces from great brands. It would be nice to see your comparison between the Seamaster 300 (ref. 233.30.41.21.01.001) and the Submariner. I am curious to see if the Seamaster 300 would be able to do better than the Seamaster 300 professional. What's your opinion Bruce?
I think the seamaster has a better more adjustable clasp. But I prefer the look of the sub. The seamaster is superb bang for the buck. Although the 2 price hikes in the uk this year is making it a harder pill to swallow
I love both watches and I agree with mostly everything said in this video. However, what I think should have been included as well in the rating are two additional things: + You can actually see the 8800 movement from Omega, which is a huge plus for me as I love to see what is going on inside the watch. - I have noticed that, if you hold the Omega very near to your ear, you will hear the bridge move, whereas the sub‘s (and rolex in general) movement is completely silent. As an additional personal point, I would rate Omega‘s fitting a little higher as the 42mm just looks better on my 19.5cm wrist😅. But that‘s just my personal case. Thank you very much for the great video! Cheers and greetings from Switzerland🇨🇭
The Omega is a mans watch. I loooove the submariner. But the presence of a seamaster on wrist is so masculine, and the band pops more with the small polished accents. Love mine...plus Its been to space and is bond's watch. 😁
@@ivankool357 Really? The Rolex has an ugly thing on the sapphire called a "Cyclops" totally breaking immersion of the dial, Mercedes hands are ugly to.
Pep Rex the reason you don’t like is that you have never owned one before and you don’t know the history of Rolex. For example: for Automobile 🚗 Toyota. For Watch .. Rolex. For diamond 💎 from Jewish people LoL 😝
Great reviews Bruce. I respect and envy you have the Hulk an Seamaster. The Rolex for dress to empress the Omega for daily and durablity. Thank You for all your work and excellent video presentation. Stay healthy and safe. I am waiting for my Sinn U50T on bracelet.
My dilemma is this ... I save the 6k or so and go with the new BB58 Blue or do I go up another 1k for the Seamaster?? I have and love the black BB58 perfect fit on my wrist .
The 15,000 gauss magnetic resistance is incredible. It’s a huge reason why I chose this watch as an electrical engineer. I would argue that anyone who spends a lot of time by a smartphone or computers should value this feature more.
I owned a GMT Master which I traded in for a Submariner 2 tone in the late 1980"s. After less than 1 year it was losing 1 minute a day! That is huge so I sent it back to Rolex for calibration and adjustment. After several weeks I got it back and after only a couple of months. . . . it was losing a minute a day once more. So I sent it back again only to have the same result. After that I called the Rolex US office in NYC to complain. I was told by the customer service person (and this is not BS) that in the end that Rolex was more concerned with fashion and style than with accuracy. Wow that blew my mind! That week I traded the watch in for an Omega which kept pristine time for years and I am on my 4th Omega now (The Planet Ocean Quantum of Solace Special Edition) and I could not be happier. That being said I do wish that I had kept the submariner also as now it is worth almost 4 times what I paid for it in 1986.
I have a Planet Ocean and it pisses me off that it gains up to 10 seconds if I don’t wear it for a day and leave it dial up. Wear it everyday it never loses or gains a second though.
Interesting synopsis of the Omega 8800 movement of -/+, on the wrist, as well as off. Thanks for pointing this out. This info. could have slipped by most of us. Great review! 🙂
Your video on the green Aqua Terra is one of a few I watched before going to the boutique and picking up my very own this past Saturday. My experience on the 8900 movement - I haven’t touched it since I set the time Saturday the 15th, and looking at it right now it’s only +5 seconds of satellite time. I can’t speak to the 8800 but I thought you should know your video inspired me and also how incredibly accurate the 8900 is for me personally!
Excellent and thoughtful comparison. I listened to this wearing my Grand Seiko SBGA229 spring drive diver. It has been a great daily watch for me. I would be more inclined to go with the Seamaster on rubber than the Rolex. Having owned a Yacht-Master I, I will acknowledge the superiority of the Oyster bracelet and clasp but I ended up preferring the Rolex on a Rubber B strap instead of on the bracelet. I have other high horology “statement” watches so I do not need a Rolex watch in order to fulfill that purpose. I would be more inclined to look at the Tudor Black Bay with the in-house MT5601 movement than a Rolex as the BB does the job the Submariner was designed to do and is a much better value proposition. Given the success of the BB blue, I am relatively confident that a BB green will be offered down the road. Thanks for your work.
How on earth does one pick the all-green Hulk as the more versatile watch? And the clasp on the Omega is superior to that of the Submariner by a country mile, yet that goes completely unnoticed? I understand you own both watches, but the review is screaming Rolex fanboy. Especially when you conclude the review without mentioning that you will have to pay 4 times the price of the Omega to get your hands on the Rolex. Pretty relevant, since you determined that the two watches are otherwise comparable. I myself own a 116610LN and a black dial SMP 300. From a pure functionality standpoint, the only category the Sub wins in, is the bezel. So factoring in that it costs three times the price of the Seamaster, I don't think it's even close which one is the better watch whether you talk technical specs or value for money. That being said, thanks for the video and content.
I bought my ROLEX 116610LV in March 2017 in Switzerland and have been continuously wearing it on my left wrist on 24-hour basis including daily bathing and sleeping for more than 5.5 years now. It is such accurate that it displays 0 second per day accuracy on practical experience. Its crown is only unscrewed for the adjustment of calendar for Feb, Apr, Jun, Sept and Nov. It's nearly perfect. I have one watch only but will not consider to buy another unless there will be another one with such accuracy should appear! I think life will be much simpler with an accurate watch for long time.
This watch had been taken to a Timegrapher for accuracy analyzing in Sept/Oct 2017, with all measured results of 0 second per day on all positions. How wonderful is this!
Rolex is the brand ever was and maybe ever will be. But since more watch enthusiasts, experts and amateur collectors are getting more voice, people tell about the truth that the Seamaster begins to make good moves and is way ahead on some technical points. And if Rolex will sleep the next years on their advantages from the last 50 years, there will be a takeover. Other brands don’t sleep and for me the Seamaster is the new Submariner already. Let’s face it: looking at that Submariner including its Hommages is so boring for me. And looking at the price tag, things get even more clear. But next to watch enthusiasts there will be always the status thing that will make people still decide for the Rolex. No problem with that and fair enough. Thus every watch has its place.
Great comparison review. Wise to leave it a few months after the Seamaster ‘Honeymoon’ was over. I really like both. Omega is obviously more watch for the money (unless you’re buying to invest) but ultimately the black dial seamaster pro you reviewed a while back is my favourite 😀
Seeing as how the hulk is one of my grails and not because of the hype - I love green watches, I have several - I'll pick that one. It is always easily available, for a very (not) modest 100% premium (8/29/20 Jomashop), but hey, that's the game. Man I love these head to head videos, really awesome content.
I now own one of each as well...I think the Seamaster is much slicker looking but that Rolex feels like a tank..I like them both and they will stay in my collection
Great comparison video Bruce, thank you. Both watches in my opinion are awesome, would take a pre-ceramic black sub-date over either one, but that's just me, everyone's different thank God. Thanks again for the effort putting it together for us.
The law of diminishing returns applies specially for the rolex. Price matters. Also, a guy got stabbed to death a week or so ago in Amsterdam because of a rolex. Makes me feel uncomfortable wearing one in plenty occasions. I dont have that with my good old sm. Actually prefer the old bracelet style. There are so many more factors you cld factor in. Thanks for a great review!
Omega all the way. The submariner, deep sea, sea dweller and yacht master all look the same. Beside people now think it is crazy to spend that money on a watch when you can buy a smart watch.
I'd pick the Rolex too except I prefer my black dial 114060 instead. Not even close IMO. Don't get me wrong, I like the Omega enough to maybe buy one...

Bang for buck goes to the Omega Seamaster. And you can actually purchase it.
I would have given Omega a 10 for box/extras, crystal execution, & movement and 9 for lume & Design/Versatility. This would put the Omega at a score of 92 in my opinion and beating the Submariner.
100% 👍🏼👍🏼
Rolex =89???
Seamaster for me.
Summary of the video:
Rolex is a slightly nicer watch but Omega is a WAY better buy as a watch lover.
Yeah, I'd buy a Seamaster over Submariner too. However, I am not attracted to them as much as other watches in my list.
Whats on your list? Very interested, other divers?
What watches you want?
@@joshrosey Habring, Speake Marin, Breguet, Yema, RPaige and Dornbluth
I have the white dial version of the seamster and absolutely love it!
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 great watch
I hated the white dial at first...but now i'm in love with it..especially with a rubber strap..it's the perfect swim watch.
JSBPhotorebel I agree, it really pops in the sunlight, and I can’t stop looking at it!
Me to I love my Great white and actually would love a Hulk but when to purchase right now 2nd hand as new the Rolex is 5 times the price of a White Seamaster 300m I'm thinking well lets just enjoy the Omega.
I have the blue SMP 2018 version on bracelet and absolutely love it!
Well, who'd have thought it,, the Rolex comes out on top,, !! Lol,,
If someone gave me a Hulk, I'd immediately sell it, and get 2 smp's,,, ha ha..
It's all a matter of personal preference and taste,,
Whatever floats your boat, as they say,,,
Great video though Bruce,,.
You could get 4 smps
There's a comment here where the omega actually has more points. Lol
See someone wearing a Rolex & you think "FAKE". Not a problem with the Seamaster. Plus it's a better looking watch
I bought a brand new SMP 300 on bracelet for 1/3 the price of the cheapest used hulk on Chrono24. The two watches are so close, it would be a hard decision if they were the same price. With the Rolex at 3x the price, there’s no way it’s 3x better.
Bit of a predictable outcome to the contest, isn’t the Rolex three times the price of the Omega?
Probably 4x if you talk about the omega with a discount.
Omega is closer in price to a tissot than to a Hulk.
Rolex = 89 Fantastic head-to-head review. Both are amazing pieces!
The Submariner design is so boring for current-day eyeballs. So many ugly design choices - slab-sided super case with clumsy looking lugs, cyclops, Mercedes hands.
4k new omega barely edged out by 20k Rolex 😂. What that say about Rolex?
Excellent video Bruce! I really like this comparison format and would love to see more of these.
Thanks for catching my mistake!
I really love how you always manage to show off the watches under natural light. I love both of these watches. My diver of choice is the Seamaster 300 master coaxial that you reviewed a while back. Simply because it is a little more reserved for every day wear. But I would definitely love to own one of these as a more playful alternative.
Your math is off. Sub is 89. SMP is 87. Margin of error.

Small diff in produce, huge diff in price
Bruce, the Rolex scored 89. Your chart says 91. I have both watches as well. The Omega always leaves me a little cold. There is a slight femininity to it that never quite settles with me. A girlfriend saw all my watches and then bought herself a blue Seamaster. The Rolex feels more classically masculine. The watch I prefer over both of them is Omega Planet Ocean.
bang on. the original PO is the king
Agree.
Thanks for catching my mistake!
Sorry I did forget to mention the extension systems. I enjoy both, like you I think the Omega is a tad easier/quicker to opperate
I prefer the Sub but in no way does a supercase Sub deserve a 10/10 in design.
Agree whole heartedly. If the case was the same as the 5 digit Sub.... tempting.
Good comparison 🙂
Seems to be a little mistake with the calculations, the total for the Rolex is 89, not 91. I would choose the Omega, but i would go for the black and white version.
Anything is better than that hideous date magnifier...
Until you get older and your eyes go bad. It suddenly becomes your friend.
It is definitely slipping.
Bruce, doesn't the better finishing on the Seamaster movement count for something? Score cannot just be based on accuracy alone.
Good point, in my opinion they are finished very well and I would mark them even aesthetically. Both very well machine finished. Tudor on the other hand which is technically the same price competitor would be a step below Omega no doubt
@@BruceWilliams I am not impressed with Rolex movement finishing as well.
this was the best head to head comparison man! I mean this detail and dedication! simply the reason why this is one of the best watch channels!
Thank you very much
This is definitely one of the more mediocre among your reviews... can‘t relate to the high praise for the Submariner, especially when comparing it to the Seamaster.
Imhave had both and only have the SMP now. I guess that shows how I feel about this issue.
Got the SMP in black on steel bracelet a few weeks ago. I just stare at it sometimes. It's a beauty.
Rolex should get deducted points for no transparent case back
Great point 👍🏼👍🏼
It wouldn't look good with transparent case back
Rolex movements are hideous looking, no decoration. Do you really want to look at it?
I adore the 300. I think that one and the Planet Ocean would fare a bit better imo
I think the seamaster has a better more adjustable clasp. But I prefer the look of the sub. The seamaster is superb bang for the buck. Although the 2 price hikes in the uk this year is making it a harder pill to swallow
To be honest the Sub just looks passé these days. Omega has moved ahead in terms of style and tech.
I love both watches and I agree with mostly everything said in this video. However, what I think should have been included as well in the rating are two additional things:
+ You can actually see the 8800 movement from Omega, which is a huge plus for me as I love to see what is going on inside the watch.
Great review! Any opinion as to whether the Planet Ocean 39.5 would have done any better?
I wonder. 🤔
The Omega is a mans watch. I loooove the submariner. But the presence of a seamaster on wrist is so masculine, and the band pops more with the small polished accents. Love mine...plus Its been to space and is bond's watch. 😁
its the seamaster for me, i have the previous model, and will be getting the mew version!!
Seamaster looks childish wave pattern & ugly.
@@ivankool357 Ok you win... You got me congrats not going to argue with a child lol
DBruh it means nothing to me thou, IMHO.
I'd go omega.. Tudor is a glorified homage at this point
I am partial to my Ploprof!.I enjoy your video content always !
WHY DID YOU LEAVE OUT BANG FOR THE BUCK??
Because he didn’t want the omega to win...
The 15,000 gauss magnetic resistance is incredible. It’s a huge reason why I chose this watch as an electrical engineer. I would argue that anyone who spends a lot of time by a smartphone or computers should value this feature more.
I’d be curious about the precious metal offerings in the Seamaster.
Thanks for pointing
this out. This info. could have slipped by most of us. Great review! 🙂
I think this was the Question for ages! thanks for this Bruce!
I believe comparing the Submariner with the 2018 Planet Oceans makes more sense in terms of the pricing
I actually dislike a bracelet that tapers. I don't mean to insult those who prefer some taper, but I think it somewhat feminizes a sporty watch.
I agree!!!
Great comparison video👍 loved it!
Hands down Rolex for me.
Any thoughts on the cases of each watch Bruce? Think this may also be an important factor.
A fantastic comparison. Very informative, and I think, very fair. Each is an incredible watch. Thank you, Bruce.
Guy says he loves the cyclops on the crystal but at the end says he would prefer the no date option haha
To me, the grey dial is the least attractive choice for the SMP 300.
Comparing both black dial Rolex and Omega would have been a better idea imho.
Who can review and compare top 2 dive watches other than Bruce?
Thanks for this insightful video.
I appreciate it!
Don't get me wrong, I like the Omega enough to maybe buy one...
love the no date.
