Never forget that Flapjack and Chowder were the cartoons that saved Cartoons network during the real life era. They carried the network until adventures time, regular show, and the Amazing world of Gumball came
It's always sad when a series gets canceled seemingly without good reason. It'd be nice if we could have gotten a sendoff with them discovering Candied Island
I keenly remember an episode where K'nuckles allowed Flapjack to be schooled by the elderly rich lady so she would share her massive candy stores with him. The line "Baa, says the lamb. The lamb says baa." sticks with me as one of those things you just can't forget for some unknown reason.
This show was one of funniest, most interesting things I had laid my little eyes on as a kid/teen and to this day I’m grateful for its influence on my taste in media and humor. The doctor/barber always had me DYING
I definitely remember episodes that were not discussed here. Not sure if that was intentional or not, but I distinctly remember an episode where flap jack becomes a banker, knuckles finds new hands, another ep. Where he does some laundry, and one where the gang explores uncharted waters just to name those off the top of my head
@@richardmortimore9245 the banker one was related to Flapjack looking to become an apprentice to someone after getting miffed with Knuckles for whatever reason. He asks an adventurer who turns out to be a banker who just came from a costume party. I totally forget the storyline of the laundry episode. Only recall knuckles going to the laundromat and tossing his clothes in the sea because he’s never done laundry before and doesn’t understand the process. Up until then he actually has a friendly and playful disposition towards flapjack which was notable since he tends to be a manipulative bastard most of the time. Exploring uncharted waters I recall they ride bubby to an island, get off and want to explore. They say they’ll meet on the other side but the island turns out to be more of a continent. Hijinx ensue. In addition I remembered a few extra episodes since my initial comment. In One we learn where flapjack got his name and why bubby takes care of him. In another bubby has stomach pains and flapjack takes a journey into her throat to find the source of the discomfort. Turns out bubby ate someone by accident years ago and she’s been living in her stomach ever since. She’s recently taken up knitting and stapling her pins into the stomach lining is what’s causing the pain. In another knuckles wants a beard. Flapjack and he try all sorts of stuff to get him a luscious adventurers beard. Again, hijinks ensue. I hope you remember some of these, I never saw every single episode of the original flapjack myself. I was just part of the age bracket watching Cartoon Network on occasion when it was still airing. Partially I just want to make sure that I’m not crazy and remembering things that weren’t there. I do find it odd though how this video which claims to follow the story from beginning to end, leaves out so many episodes according to the comment section. Definitely a strange choice.
I like to think the entire series actually takes place in a post apocalyptic future where the ice caps melted, flooding the earth and setting human knowledge and technology back hundreds of years.
well in canon as of now flapjack was a primordial universe relative to adventure time; meaning that when the main adventure time universe was born flapjack universe already existed, quoted directly from Prismo. so like for example in this spiderverse comic, right, they flee into Earth-616B as we know the main continuity is 616 so their asking why everything in this 616B universe looks so damn weird and wonky and the leader dood breaks it down like "Well this universe was made before your universe, a sorta prototype universe to work out all the bugs and kinks of your universe." So basically flapjack is a wrinkly shirt compared to adventure times iron pressed polo.
This was such a pure nostalgic wall into memory lane as a child That cat personally scared me the most, you won get to see that ever again in modern CN. Also i feel like you should've discussed the west and the candied island episode. Those were major plot points within the story 😊
Man I just found this channel an hour ago and then see this get uploaded while watching the entire story of Clarence. This cartoon was one of my childhood favourites, so thank you for the vid! I just clicked but reading the title already brought back old memories.
Man they should make a movie for flapjack where they finally find candied island and finally know who's flapjack's actual parents and see the boy grow up
This video changed my life. I have NEVER seen anything of this caliber posted on this website until now. This is a complete and utter masterpiece. 10/10 would recommend.
I actually miss when cartoons were some of the most horrifying things like Courage the Cowardly Dog and of course Chowder. The amount of sexual references kids never understand and the unrelatable comedy that we found funny for no reason was always the best part. Now adays we have Paw Patrol and Bubble Guppies instead of the nightmare fueled funhouses we used to. Flapjack was just perfection.
I have had one memory (outside of the obvious of characters, plot, etc.) of that episode where Flapjack wants to have syrup on his pancakes and they go on a quest, where Knuckles ruins it. Happy to see a video going thru the WHOLE thing.
I remember that there is an episode where they did make it to Candy island but the captain and Flapjack was hanging off of some huge rubber band that was attached to the moon. The captain stuck out his tongue to get a lick of the candy soil but before he could get a taste he was flung back to where the episode started. This show is a trip.
I like to imagine Tummy Tums is just a normal looking person but because everyone else in stormalong is so hideous he looks like an unearthly beauty of this universe by comparion
I remember the fancy pants being one of my favourite episodes.. I love the whimsical writing of this cartoon. This show, chowder, over the garden wall, courage the cowardly dog, regular show, and more. These are the kinds of cartoons that I wish to come back.. However, all good things must come to an end. 😢
