The introduction of the teenagers is probably the best plot point in the series. It made KND felt like an actual secret organization with double agents here and there. You'll never know who's siding with who and my god, bless the children whoever has this series as their childhood. A timeless series indeed. Also the last episode answered my question regarding KND's double agents cause they too will pass the teenagehood, so does that means they'll still be an operative even as an adult? And the answer is yes, as it's seen in the last scene with numbuh 5
My younger self legit dropped my jaw when saw the twist betrayal of KND girl (don’t remember the number): “You know I am only 12, but… I decided to grow up sooner” *and leaves with 5’s sister and important datapad
I'm so glad I grew up during the golden age of cartoons.
I remember getting chills seeing #5 silently nod to all f the secret allies around town
This was and still is my favorite childhood show, as I was watching this I was re living all the memories
@@Sanches7557that's just it number 12 and you answer it my dude but seriously that was a ultimate betrayal to point it broke 86 heart because of it.
I like the fact there's a secret sector of teenagers who still work for KND. I might be 28 but this show series was great to watch, long live KND.
I was so happy to see that kids who ended up turning into teenagers decided to still stay loyal.
I have a feeling #274 was one of those officers, but broke cover and posed as a bad guy when Number 1 exposed him in the season 2 finale.
@@BrianSilva-oc7xghe is actually. It was revealed in a later episode he was like Maurice. A loyal KND member but just had to pose as a villain to not raise suspicion

28? try being 35 this show was fucking awesome!
KND was special because of it's constant but consistent world building and all-round creativity. I see this as we lose our creative side as we age, and i love that.
Constant but consistent is a really redundant thing to say since if something is constant it's inherently consistent
@@w0rmfarts Nah, he means the writers constantly added new information, or, rather, they were constantly world building, and they did not contradict earlier pieces of the world's lore. The difficulty that comes with world building is that you have to make every new thing you add be consistent with the world you've already built. In other words, as you add new information about the world for the sake of fleshing it out, it becomes easier and easier to add new information/ideas that contradict earlier established lore since there's more and more lore to keep track of. Considering this was a children's cartoon, this is a very plausible problem to run into at some point in the series. Every episode added a relative plethora of new information about the world from characters, to systems, to organizations/groups, technology. However, throughout the series, there is little to no contradictions in the story perspective.
Throughout the story, the effort to add more information was constant, yet the story's information stayed consistent with itself.
@@NurbedUpbeautifully said 👏🏾
@@w0rmfartsthat's false. Something can be constantly changing while being inconsistently in its quality.
I was taking it a lot more literally then you guys
my bad just since one word means always happening and one means frequently happening I thought it didn't make any sense I get it now
I used to love the creativeness in their gadgets and machines made by connecting together existing real life parts. Inspired me to become an engineer that I am today.
i just noticed that the first part is kind of like animatrix
without the guy getting dismembered by robot tentacles
No chances the background story sequence isn't a giant reference to the Animatrix war of man vs machines. Complete with the part when they try to cut off the adults' energy only for them to return with a more advanced generation of machines.
Love it.
I got the exact same vibe, felt like they were trying to block out the sun with that whole sequence.
That was definitely an Animatrix homage. The trial scene, the energy source, the spanking machine scene were all one for one
I probably watched 90-95% of the episodes of this show as a kid and had no idea about the first 2 minutes of lore LMAO. Maybe it just went over my head
5 things I want to see in galactic KND
1 will they stop galactic KND and save Numbuh 1
2. Is Number 5 now the supreme leader
3. 362 meets Numbuh 10 who is Number 1 cousin
4. Maurice and Chad are still friends again as teens
5. 362 1 relationships of Marriage and shipping of a kiss
They should bring it back, it was a really good show.

True, the successor Adevnture Time was pure gibbirish. Regular Show was good but wanted to be an adult show.
I'm so happy I was a part of this era, so many good shows. The cartoons I see today just don't have that same magic they used to (growing up does that but also how our society has changed since then).
I love that the whole series is basically how kids view the world with extreme imagination. From thinking that the world should be a giant playground for children, adult is boring and villainous, weapons and gadgets create from household object which is exactly how we use to pretend everything is a gun back in the day, and their operation bases are tree houses. It just resonate with children so much and that's why it's great
I always loved the mood change whenever they went to the moon, i knew it was gonna be one of “those episodes😬”
I really hope you seen Operation Z.E.R.O talk about an epic conclusion
I wanna go watch the whole serious again! This was so good !😊
Sadly it doesn't resonate with the current generation of kids right now.
@@LoliLover36669Because they have no imagination, cellphones took away the need for that. Apart from tv at two pm, we played outside as kids, imagine having all that time being spent on phones, it takes away that imagination
KND was underrated. Not talked nor memtioned enough. Ahead of its time for childrens cartoon series. It evolved. Went from random cartooms to story telling, to a full on series. Ot was Legendary as it tied all the characters, good and bad all together. Number One, The Delightful children from down the lane, both fathers, and the sectors.
This was the stuff back in the days... The way the writers mixed in complete nonsense and silliness with dystopia-style storytelling in the lore is amazing

I unironically love how the KND are supposed to be a secret global organization and yet they constantly have gigantic, loud, bombastic, and destructive battles all the time in giant mechs in the middle of the cul-de-sac. It's actually fucking hilarious when you think about it 😂 I think the writers did that on purpose.
Or that scene when Chad and his jock friends flew the gymnasium into the air. Like, are people supposed to just not notice that?
@Ruby_Eve I mean stuff like that is just happening all the time people probably take it for granted, let's be honest the average person in the KND universe doesn't come off as particularly intelligent
@@Ruby_Evemaybe the prescribe to the DnD barbarian way of being stealthy? Just intimidating people into not noticing them?
The fact that it doesn't make sense makes it way more fun.
A running gag was that the KND had no sense of subtlety whatsoever (even the treehouse bases are glaringly obvious to the point where there's nothing secretive at all about them), despite thinking that they do. Hilariously, the most successful infiltration operation was done by Numbah 4... who wasn't even doing a stealth operation and just slapped on a trench coat and fake mustache with some stilts to go see an R-rated movie.
I just thought about how Nigel definitely has to have powers. His grandfather has reality-warping powers, his uncle has the power of fire, and his dad has enough sheer willpower to hold of Grandfather. If KND Galactic ever happens, this is one of many things I'd like to see.
It was probably Nigel dying from cancer

You missed out on 1 EXTREMELY important detail regarding Sector Z. Not only were they transformed into the Delightful Children but they can NEVER be transformed back to their original selves ever again and were forced back to becoming the Delightful Children during the episode. It was only a temporary separation to try and help takedown grandfather but Numbah Zero stated that he was sorry he couldn't save them from their fate. I think out of all the things that are talked about and implied in the story about former operatives losing their memories and everything that is the 1 canon moment that is genuinely heartbreaking and extremely sad for a series that is usually pretty fun and only mildly serious.
Also pretty sad considering that they’re technically Numbah 1’s adopted cousins

This show had deeper lore than young me realized lol
Shit always slapped though. The teenagers being a third faction is probably the best idea this show had, it adds a lot more layers to something that quite frankly shouldn’t even have it lol
I’ll also always have fond memories of the snow day episode where it’s literally just the battle of Hoth with AT-AT school buses and cardboard snowspeeders lol
Indeed. Best Episode in my opinion.
I think as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that the shows that did the best job at keeping you hooked had to have some kind of creativity and lore. I was a kid not knowing or understanding the lore in depth as well, but the one constant was that my favorite ones all had that same creativity.

@@deadijedigaming I think it's really the simple fact a lot of creators aren't original. There are very few successful kids shows in the past 10 years that are OG created. Most are reboots.
There’s a massive issue with the story cause in the beginning we see kids create adults but then later on we see the operation zero story to be true and we see father as a kid instead of being created as an adult. It’s the only issue I have with the story since they can’t both be true unless there’s a massive plot hole left out
What there’s a great grandfather the most evilest then grandfather and father
@vanessasandoval96 what does that have to do with what this person asked
Yeah I don’t get that either
So from my understanding the whole story is that kids are a natural existence in the universe and adulthood is a literal disease with grandfather being just "one of" the biggest pool of the disease and essentially character like father and grandfather are kind of like terraformers removing children of any kind and essentially rewriting them. The reason Nigel uno #1 didn't turn evil is because the device that aged him did so on a physical level only where as with grandfather we see that his power warps and twists people
didnt they turn kids into adults?
I loved this show as a kid. Thanks for bringing the story back to our attention, it's so, so good. They don't make creative kids shows like this anymore!

One of the biggest plot twists for me was the fact that Chad, after "betraying" the KND, was actually still a secret teenage operative "...helping from the sidelines.". It was super crazy to think that after Operation T.R.E.A.T.Y. no one ever saw him or the diplomat Numbuh Infinity every again, especially since he was secretly there for "..practically every mission you and sector V did...".
He still alive In the gulag of course.
Codename: Kids Next Door is one of the cartoons that I deeply regret never being able to watch and enjoy. It always finished airing about an hour after I got home from school and I didn't have a DVR at the time to record the episodes. The few times I did get to watch some episodes though I remember being in awe of how cool the backronyms that writers made for each episode. The best one by far has to B.R.A aka battle ready armor. V is a roman numeral for 5 I’m surprised no one in the comments pointed it out also I’ve seen the show before
Uhh don’t V means 5? Lol
@@TheSUPREMEWAR V is in fact the roman numeral 5 yes. However, the Sectors are labeled by the Latin alphabet. Numbah 2 visits Sector A in Operation A.M.I.S.H. And most notably, the Delightful Children From Down The Lane are the lost members of Sector Z (as mentioned in the video). So calling Sector V "Sector 5" isn't correct with how the Sectors get their name.
In fact, Numbuh 1 calls it Sector V on 27:10
This generation will not know how good this show was. KND was and still is an underrated show
This show incapsulates what was great about shows at this time, awesome animation/art style, amazing overarching story, fun characters, whimsical gadgets and great and creative villains and scenarios.
9:33 EXCUSE ME WHAT
I don’t remember this
The show doesn't take itself too seriously and shows that both sides use propaganda. Such as the fact kids didn't invent adults and that they do age over time.
The one thing that always confused me was how kids were immediately, for lack of a better word, neuralized once hitting teenhood. Felt like an oversight since a kid, teen alliance could've held the line against adults.
have you forgotten about the undercover teen spy operatives and the fact that not every adult on this show was a child murdering loonatic such as literally all of sector v's parent's dr sigmind froy lasso lass and vin moosk blah blah blah the kid's next door as far as teh main five go don't hate adult's for the sake of hating adult's it's literally even explained in later season's that they only go after adult's that are actively going out of their way to openly antagonize kid's also it obviously took itself more seriously then most other cartoon network shows going on at the time
I think this also can be seen as a metaphor to class struggle. The kids represent the proletaria/ the working class. The teens represent the middle class, and of course, the adults the bourgeoisie/upper class. The teens as seen through the show, are always been used by the adults to undermine the kids resistence and demands to a more equal system. Just like the middle class, the teens WANT to feel like the upper class, or the adults in this case. They're both the ''transition'', what lies between, these two opposing groups. But they don't realize that they have much more in common with the kids than the adults. So, they're made to antagonize the kids, almost like dispensable frontline soldies. Like in real life, the middle class wants to think they're rich, that they have political power, to taste what is like to be the opressor against a weaker party. But they will never be the actually upper class. So your observation is actually right, a kid-teen force would be much better against the adults who are actually the villains.
But maybe this is a strech from my part, or just a coincidence lol.
@@jakepara Actually your analysis makes a lot of sense!! KND is a political show. It pretends not to be, but the internal politics of how the KND operates as an organization and how it interacts with the other political forces and organizations is a central theme in the show. It shows the inherent flaws that their system has, like decommissioning and erasing the memories of the KND operatives once they turn 13. The excuse that the KND tells themselves is that teens and kids are just too different. That teens disrespect kids (which they do) ((just like how the real life middle class looks down on and disrespects the working class in real life)) and they are worried about secret information being used against them. The show is explicitly telling the audience that if the KND stopped doing this, a substantial amount of opposition could be turned into allies against the adult tyranny (again just like in real life when the working class and middle class actually work together to oppose the elite class). Because you are RIGHT! The teens are treated with the same level of disregard and disrespect from the adults that the kids also suffer from. Despite wanting to be in their group, they are still ostracized the same ways that the kids are. It WOULD be in the best interest of the teens and the kids to join forces, but the KND refuses to do so. It IS a metaphor for the working class, middle class, and the rich elites. It's also a metaphor for how humans tend to treat one another based on age. MAN this show has some LAYERS!! No wonder I turned into a political junkie lol
There are alot of long paragraph commits, so I'll make it short. There was a Jr. High rebellion of '99, that put pitted Jr. High teens that were in the KND against High school teenagers, in which they use the recommissioning device that was 'damaged beyond repair'. So they made a firm rule of all teenagers to avoid the calamity again. Source: Operation ZERO.
I think it was due to hormones a la Puberty. It's possible the adults created aging and the KND couldn't stop them before it spread, creating a "middle point" where kids change sides whether they want to or not. There ARE teens out there that are still allied with KND but they're probably kept on a leash in case they "turn".
Watching this made me realize I have SO many of these episodes just stored in the back of my mind. Like yeah there were plenty of shows that are still beloved to this day like PPG or Dexter's Lab, but it was more along the lines of one off jokes and scenarios that didnt really make call-backs in future episodes or led up to something...bigger. Like you could watch any other episode in isolation and not think you missed something. And yeah there are plenty of episodes in KND where you dont need to necessarily know what's going on (particularly the early seasons) but there are still plenty of plot heavy episodes where you couldnt just come in on without knowing what led up to it. Its why I appreciate alot of kids shows these days that are both entertaining and are telling an engaging story. I would love to see a return to KND though I have a sneaking suspicion that if it did return it would just get the Teen Titans Go reboot treatment and just be some ridiculous, dumbed down mess. :(

one of the biggest cliffhangers that lived in my head rent-free for years was the Fourth Flavor.
Even after becoming an adult myself, I still had a couple ideas about what it was. Banana. Pineapple. Caramel. Coffee. Unfortunately, to this day, we still have no clue what the Fourth Flavor is.
I always thought it was Mango as a kid. Glad I am not the only one who is stuck on this Fourth Flavour Episode....
I think it’s Coffee! It has that golden color, and kids can’t have it because they’ll get too hyper.
@@sunnypatel9413if it helps you guys Nigel’s dad said Blurbule Berry Flavoring was the closest thing he ever got to retasting the 4th flavor
You gotta love LSD induced cartoons. This era of cartoons was brilliant.
G:KND would've been s perfect sequel. That Galactic Emperor Numbuh Omega was such an awesome character. I bet he's omnipotent and can bend space and time to his will.
Or can at least see into the future. Maybe that’s why he thinks we are a disease because he saw all the horrors of the 20th century back at the beginning of his shift
@@NCTStudio it doesn't matter how old we get. We'll always stay kids as long as we want. Even though we can't have that never ending sansation of hope, like we did when we were kids. It really sucks when you grow up.
What a well-made video and such an interesting concept to give a quick recap of every episode while highlighting plot points. The effort to put this all together must've taken an eternity. I applaud the effort and will subscribe for more content like this. Would love to see more of my favorite childhood shows recapped in a similar fashion!

Yeah, it was confusing when I was a kid. Only thing i remember is Moon kid base!
This show was my childhood, glad to see it’s getting the recognition it deserves.

That's the best storyline Ever i give it a
100/100 score ❤🎼
I just ended up crying after watching this hahaha hits so hard into my childhood... What's most incredible... I haven't watched the series since CN stopped airing it (I mean, now you have them on HBO and everywhere to watch the whole thing from the very beginning but I still haven't done that) but I actually remember at least 90% of everything as it was a major thing during my childhood... Thanks again!

I'm not sure if this line is ever said in the show but "You either die a kid or live long enough to see yourself become an adult" would be perfect.
This was probably one of the most creative cartoons of its time. I really hope they do the galactic version of this cartoon, even as a 28 year old now I would watch that right away. As long as they keep the creativity, even if its just a remake to be up with more modern times.
I noticed that the KND doesn't seem to have a problem with adults who live peacefully with children. And also seem to genuinely love their parents.
because they are biologically made by the parents they arent the primal generation that was immortal
the children this days believe in a balance that they have to be born from adults live until old and die as adults to be reborn again (there was a episode like that )
he missed out most episodes like for real
and yes there was a primal kids episode intertwine with the new gen as well
@@notoriousbig3kwhich explains the galactic knd and their sinister portrayal in wanting to destroy all adults, and even kids that want to keep adults around
@@Trefox87I had a theory that the G:KND were made up of aliens from other worlds but age is different for them or rather they don’t age, and seeing humans life cycle and how each generation produces even stronger operatives it could jeopardize their immortality and so see earth as a disease
Remember when Nigel's dad got stolen by the tuba kid? As soon as Nigel found out he was all like "Hang on dad, I'm coming!! ...ugh. I can't believe I'm about to save an adult."
I guess if you were an adult or even a teen who was in the middle ground that doesn’t try to terrorize children they wouldn’t have a problem with you.
I remember growing up I really disliked KND, I thought it was pretty stupid. I remember being pissed off when they "won" that contest to be on CN because I was rooting for Billy and Mandy, but I've always been a fan of horror in general. Thankfully they both ended up with their own series.
I don't remember how it happened but a couple of years ago I ended up watching KND again and the later seasons had some really good writing and honestly, I really enjoyed how they wrapped it up. Unfortunately not every cartoon with a semblance of a consistent story manages to do that, either they shit the bed or get cancelled or something.
Probably unpopular opinion, but I really disliked how Adventure Time wrapped up and then when they did those "movies" none of them really managed to scratch the itch of knowing what happened to Finn as an adult. I really enjoyed the last one where they're dead and save the afterlife and I feel like they did a really good job reintroducing the Lich again, but it was bitter sweet for me, because my friends were dead and I didn't know anything about what happened in between besides a few odds and ends. And then to add insult to injury I ended up subbing to the comic series that was supposed to be a new cannon "season" only for it to get cancelled.
Edit: Just heard about the new AT spin-off series, unless there's gonna be some lore drops for the original I'm probably not gonna watch it.

The final episode still hits hard after all these years laters. Especially since we still never got the Galactic sequel
Good let's keep that way wokeness will killed this series #donttouchmyknd
The only reason i know this exists is because i went to my great grandma's funeral.
Naw I would fight anyone tooth and nail on this being the best cartoon of all time. I know I’m biased but I genuinely feel like even as a 24 year old who hasn’t watched the show in forever I could stand behind a podium and like win a debate on it. You however are totally lost, right off the bat this is wrong. This like one off episode that was a JOKE is not canon, it’s a story numbuh one is telling that directly contradicts the movie and is very obviously not meant to be taken seriously. I mean OBVIOUSLY, are you actually trying to use that as like a starting point?
It’s sector V not sector 5 have you like never even watched this show? I know somebody will try to say “but V means 5” it’s irrelevant, they never ONCE called it “sector 5”
I'll give KND credit where it's due, but calling it the "best cartoon of all time" is overselling it just a bit

Sheesh, I guess I watched more Kids next door than i remember with each clip a memory came back lol . Nice to finally know it chronologically rather than sporadic episodes we had on tv.
As a kid, watching the end of this series mad me sad. As an adult, it strikes a cord in my heart strings. I feel more emotional watching the ending now than as a kid
As a kid I never understood the show. It had just too much creativity for my child brain to understand.😅

Thats when i remember this show the most. Im 25 and i often see "only 90s kids remember videos" and this show along with many others is always one that pops up. It gave me a bliss that I long for now as an adult. I miss coming home from school and watching this. ❤
