I feel like you shoulda gave more attention to season 5. Yes it is very different from the Samurai Jack of old, but I honestly like how different and grown up it is, as it shows a progression from when we watched the original Samurai Jack as a kid, to watching it now as an adult. It felt like it grew up with its audience, and despite how different it was, it still kept the same feeling and spirit of the original. I really like it, and I think it’s a worthy end to one of my favorite series of all time.
There's a Samurai Jack video game where they change the ending and Ashi lives a happy life with Jack. Personally I think it makes more sense because the time travel is a paradox anyway so might as well keep her alive and just say the Aku powers are gone or something.
In the wiki it is implied that future Aku was stuck in that dimension after his defeat and so Ashi could exist. Seeing how even Aku is vunrable to the laws of time it makes sense he cannot get out since his past self is dead without being destroyed and as long as he lives even stuck in there Ashi can exist. Bizzare but who cares.
@@Raximus3000time is more powerful than Aku. That’s why he targeted and succeeded in destroying every methods of time travels Jack could use. Remember, the reason Ashi existed is because her mother conceived with Aku’s sample mixed in. Trapping Aku rather than killing him the whole duration isn’t simply the solution to the time paradox. Aku has to willingly give the sample to the cult where she was born and raised in order for her to exist.
@@the_dragon_gamer8850 There is a time paradox regardless, why would Jack have memories of events that did not happen? Aku has power over time and he used it to create a pocket dimensio where all kind of paradoxes were possible why is one more an issue?
Dont forget to mention that Aku’s voice actor went onto also do the voice of Uncle Iroh in Avatar The Last Airbender, and that the theme song was made by Will.I.Am, lead singer of The Black Eyed Peas
The decisions made for the timings of this summary are kinda all over the place. Spending 13 minutes on the first 3 episodes, another 13 on the the single episode "Jack, the Monks and the Ancient Master's son", but then only 2 minutes covering ALL 10 episodes of Season 5 - the season with the most non-episodic content in the 62 episodes, and no mention of the (confirmed-canon) Battle Through Time game. Some episodes (and a whole season) only get 2 minutes. Then there's the fact that many episodes people would agree are pertinent or notable to the story are completely omitted (Jack and the Three Blind Archers, Jack vs. Mad Jack, Jack and the Lava Monster, Jack vs Demongo, Jack and the Zombies, Jack and The Guardian, Jack and the Haunted House, Jack vs the Ninja, just to name a few). I mean, Scaramouche is never even mentioned in the entire video! Even the episode that many consider the best of Season 5 is completely glossed over in one sentence after introducing the Daughters of Aku (Season 5, Episode 3). Just saying, the video feels imbalanced for saying you're telling the ENTIRE story of Samurai Jack. It doesn't help that the verbiage chosen for Season 5 comes off as if the season as a whole was not liked and was antagonistic to the style of the first four seasons.
*nods in LONG AGO-* his flamey eyebrows are separate as seen in episode 2 of season 5 *if anyone says who asked I will subscribe to them so I can unsubscribe to them* Fair warning
I am one of the older die hard fans 47:09 that grew up watching this during school and i thought the finality season they made with adult swim was absolutely brilliant. A fantastic ending to the story, tieing up lots of loose ends. Im suprised you didnt mention the episode with the portal guardian in the scrap yard that beats Jack - it was an important moment. Thanks for the recap. Would you consider maybe doing Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, X-Men: The Animated Series or Batman: The Animated Series (90's) next?
I just thought about this after all these years and I'm so flabbergasted I've never thought about it...samurai Jack's real name is......never revealed.....
Now after 23 years I can say after 100 years Samurai Jack will not be a story. It will be a legend and people will be debating whether it was a story of truth.
Man I thought I gave you some good classics on the Fairly Odd Parents video, but you're just coming out with BANGERS that I've completely forgot about. Idk if this is within the age-range of the target audience, 2003, but Xiaolin Showdown would be awesome for you to recap.
Finally. Thank you. We cant afford cable by that time when it was aired. I was constantly shifting the antenna in our roof to scope cartoon network. It aired 12mn if i remember. Thanks again.
Awe man I was hoping for the season 5 full recap. I know it’s more grown and isn’t as amazing as the original stuff but I think it does the ending justice. I personally love that it’s darker, I kinda always wanted the show to be a bit more intense giving the concept of the plot and all. Great video tho!!
Watched many of the episodes back then. One of the best cartoons. Too bad they don't make cartoons like this these days. The voice actor of Aku passed away while still doing Avatar cartoons. Very hard to replace.
being born in the late 90's, i grew up with Samurai Jack being one of my Hero Characters as i grew up. hell, i even learned to weild swords of different kinds due to him and the Scottsman!
22:45 it seems the writers were fans of the show Lone Wolf and Cub. When I first saw this episode I never realized that's what the scene was from until I was a little older and actually watched the original show.
The upbeat delivery at the end shows someone who has never experienced loss or even the contemplation of it. You have so far to go and I weep for your future.
I'd love to see a recap of regular show or spectacular spiderman and i know this one isnt a cartoon but i grew up loving kickin it and would love to see a recap of that show.
Yeah I REALLY wish they had gone with a movie to wrap up Samurai Jack as the sequel series we got years later I feel didn't truly measure up. As 1) Jack encountered a Guardian and a time portal. One that he couldn't use (yet) showing us a future version of Jack. A future we never got to see. 2) Ashi and Jack as a couple? I was worried the show might go down that route when we first saw her as Jack was technically old enough to be her father! What was more the whole relationship felt rushed! 3) Jack just giving up because Aku destroyed the last time portal? Jack's journey was about growth, development, adapting, and learning. And one thing that Jack had learned on his journey was that there's always a way. You're saying Jack learned NOTHING on his adventures? That he didn't stop to think that perhaps there are other means of time travel outside of time portals? 4) A better route might have been to expand on the image the Time Guardian showed us. (Keep in mind this is just a theory) Maybe how Jack's main mistake on his journey was that maybe, just maybe, he had to first defeat Aku in the present/time he was in now. Rid that version of Earth of his evil BEFORE going back and not just leaving those there under his tyranny. Have him learn that time travel is not a single line but branches. That defeating Aku in the past would only create a new branch, but the future he's in now would still remain the same. (Least if you want to use Avengers Endgame time travel logic) Thats why he couldn't use the portal that the Guardian was protecting, he had to first FIX the world he was in now. Raise an army (composed of all of the people he had helped over the course of his journey), start a rebellion to overthrow Aku and put a stop to his reign. I truly feel that is what the show was leading up to.
Love the video.. but.. wow, did not do final series justice. It was a long time coming! I took what I could get! And it was beautiful.. if.. if not a bit psychotic
It feels like a long time ago, and i didn't even remember the story behind. Thanks for reminding me, i felt like I'm Brent😂 I use to watch Samurai Jack for the actions. Now after seeing these scenes i feel nostalgic ❤❤.

Okay
What about the comic books? Aren't they important to the series?
They finnished the whole series with the game though.
Shows/Movies that grow with the initial intended audience are the ones that succeed.
okay…
At the end of the day this show was amazing and will live on as long as we show it to the younger generations
Even the most action packed episodes of this absolute masterpiece were so lovingly poetic. I absolutely loved every minute of this entire series.

I could never forget Samurai Jack! It's one of the many cartoons that made my childhood what it was!!!
SO TRUE! ME TO!!!
Dont forget to mention that Aku’s voice actor went onto also do the voice of Uncle Iroh in Avatar The Last Airbender, and that the theme song was made by Will.I.Am, lead singer of The Black Eyed Peas
MAKO!!!!! I didn’t know that.
Why is that necessary for anything?
I thought they sounded too similar!
I'm really glad to be a 2000s kid😊 this show was amazing and I wanted more from it.
Same
Man I wish I was a 2000s kid😢
@akenatoys9440 Bummer what year we're you born.
me too :)
I'm not a 2000s kid but at least I'm not a 2015 kid
22:47 My favorite thing ever is the reference to "Lone wolf and cub" with Ogami itto fighting the guys on the bridge. Best cartoon ever.

Im almost convinced the scripts for these videos are AI generated. The wording is odd and so is the choice of words.
the grammar is pronunciation is also out of whack, and the channel is pretty soulless never replying to comments.
@@PositivelyPlayingI was looking at a summary of an episode on Fandom (ew) and he uses basically the exact same wording.
07(16) kid here and I love seeing all the old shows you cover I remember as a child I would watch these

Yeah this dude sounds like a man child if they can’t appreciate season 5 but praise 1-4 lol
The Scot from Samurai Jack has always been my favorite character and ignited my life-long love for the Scottish accents ♥
Samurai jack and the three Blind Archers is my favorite Episode in the entire show
samurai versus the ninja is also insane
Jack truly is the pure soul all should strive to emulate.
Every voice actor was perfectly chosen
In Jack's infamous word, "AKUUUUUUUUUUUUU" ❤

This was truly a special show to grow up with
I was never interested in Sumarai Jack but I like this video. Thank you!
I just thought about this after all these years and I'm so flabbergasted I've never thought about it...samurai Jack's real name is......never revealed.....
neither is the Scotsman, or aku's if he has one for that matter since its just the word "evil"
I never really got into this show, but keep up the great work on all the shows us 90s babys grew up with

Hey that’s Kaibuzetta’s Samurai Jack art in your thumbnail! Great artist, you should credit her 😊
Watched many of the episodes back then. One of the best cartoons. Too bad they don't make cartoons like this these days. The voice actor of Aku passed away while still doing Avatar cartoons. Very hard to replace.

This show was nothing short of excellent!
Such a stunning cartoon. You missed Scaramouche!
Amazing delivery!!
I remember being a kid, rushing home after school to see what happens next in Samurai Jack. Great times.
Best show that doesn't focus to much on goofiness
Literally saw this premiere as a kid, and then watched season 5 premiere as an adult. That’s a bad man, Jack is.
Can you do Entire Stories for the best 4 shows from Disney - "Gravity Falls", "Star Vs. The Forces Of Evil", "Amphibia" and "The Owl House"?
I have been waiting for this video forever
25:24 so, Jack helps King Leonidas, is that what you're telling me? 🤣
The people that made Samurai Jack REALLY did their homework. Ep6 pays a little homage to the classic Wolf & Son franchise.💯
I’m a simple man, I see a new Samurai Jack video, I watch it 🤷🏻♂️
