I believe leather jackets should be one size smaller compared to your day-to-day clothes. A good rule of thumb is that you should be able to zip the jacket up to the top but it should feel really uncomfortable at first. Over time, leather expands gradually so it’ll feel much more comfy within a couple of weeks. Remember, it’s always better to have a jacket that hugs you instead of hanging over your belt.

I am a M size guy and an M size leather jacket perfectly suits me. It zip fully to thd chest and it feels comfortable.

I love leather jackets, my brown cafe racer is one of my favourite items of clothing.
When I was 5 years old my parents bought me my first leather jacket . In 1985 it was a Top Gun flight jacket, damn it was cool 😎. I actually stored it away for 30 years and passed it onto my son when he was 5.

There are quite a few other things to consider. Number two, after choosing your model, should be what type of leather. A horsehide is a totally different type of jacket than goat, for instance. I recently ordered three made to measure jackets from Aero Leather in Scotland. They specialize in recreating classic styles, and you can choose leather and color. I chose a suede Jean jacket in "gold", a Chromexcel horsehide Highwayman in Cordovan (a dark burgundy) and a Cognac Pinnacle horsehide Halfbelt Deluxe. All three jackets are a bit 50s style jackets and very versatile in style and color. I expect delivery somewhere next month and I can't wait!

Types of leather jacket: 1)Moto/Rider 2) Bomber 3) Racer 4) Flight 5) Field 6) Trucker. From my experience leather jackets should fit exact and if it's a tiny bit snug (not tight), not to worry, it will stretch out. Leather jackets are worn when it is cool and generally as a second layer piece over a tee, button shirt or a thin merino sweater. Do not expect to wear it over a cable knit sweater or in extremely cold weather.
You have probably one of the best man style channel in youtube. No ads, no BS, straight up to the important stuff ! Production is A class. Keep up the good work ! Am sure, your channel will grow over time and reach 1M.

Hi there, great video! Got a question about getting the right size of the leather jacket for myself. I want to buy a Allsaints Kushiro leather jacket... I am about 5’10”, 155 lbs, chest is about 37-38”. On a skinny / slimmer build. Should I opt for a S or M?
I have tried on both, S feels a little tight but it fits / conforms to my body better... while M feels a little loose (not too loose), although there’s a little extra room in the waist when I zip it up. What do you think would be the ideal size for me? Thx a ton!

I bought a beautiful collard type leather jacket from All Saints. Now, the piece that I really like is a bit oversized. So I sized down. But sizing down made the jacket too tight.
I was in-between sizes, which means the only option that was left for me is tailoring.
Is it possible to decrease chest size of the jacket? A small is way too tight on me but the medium leaves some room that makes it noticeable it’s a bit big on me.

I just bought a bomber leather jacket of Size S,and that was the smallest size available,still I have some issues with the sleeves and they are not of perfect fittings and are a way too loose.....Can u plz suggest some tips for making it a perfect fit to look cool.

can you help me out though...cause when I buy a leather jacket, I have two fits
1. snug and tight, so only a t shirt will really fit, A sweater makes it too tight but with a t shirt its ok
2. a touch loose, but a sweater can fit
now which one would you think is the better choice. 1 or 2? or am I suppose to have 2 jackets, one for t-shirt wear and one for colder weather sweater underneath wear?

leather over time will stretch some and come to fit the shape of your torso..

Hey, is there is a special type of washing powder you are supposed to use with leather jackets? I washed mine with Omo Oxy Plus, hot water full cycle and I think it has fucked up my shit. :(

Pro tip, if you have long arms like I do look at motorcycle jackets. They will have longer sleeves and it was the perfect length for me.

I bought my jacket used and it seems too wide around the waist and the sleeves are really flappy, but the length is good more or less. Being tall and skinny has its negatives I guess.

I need help Jeff, or anyone who reads this. I recently bought a biker/side zippered jacket online. It fits well and everything, except that when it’s opened, i looks very wide if you look at it from the side. It looks looks great if it’s zippered up, or if you look at it from the front or back. My dad told me that over time when I break down the jacket, it should flatten. Someone please help!

My satchel and page bomber jacket looks more like the "A-2 flight" jacket you showed mixed with cues of the last bomber jacket at the end. Mine closely resembles the jacket Tom Cruise wore in Top Gun and its a beauty!

I am 6.5 ft tall , 117kg around 220ld if not wrong , 48 shoulder , 44 chest . 36 waist and bit long monkey arms and I do go to gym so big arms too . Don’t know which schott jacket to go for . Another style is just a classic casual with or without a traditional collar. Something you should of mentioned is ensuring that the leather is of good quality and the key differences between leathers and hydes. Also, fashion vs function. Don't buy from a mall store. Do your research.

I must say, he does have the perfect fit though, unlike most people’s who are just way too big. If its too big,soak it in cold water and toss it in the dryer until its almost dry. As long as its REAL LEATHER,I promise you it will shrink. Id say up to 2 sizes if u repeat the process,though once will do plenty. Now go out and get “that perfect leather jacket”....lol

A short follow up is that I gifted it away to a friend of mine. It´s not worth trying to stretch and tear it apart when you know the truth.
