Disney Gargoyles Board Game - Painted figures

I bought The Gargoyles "Awakening: board game by Ravensburger, last year, and thought it would be cool to paint the one-color game figures. Of course, I haven't learned to play the game, yet, but there is a great game store, Millennium Games, here in Rochester, New York, that has gaming events I could join to enlist local board gamers to teach me. They might enjoy playing with the TV series co-producer/director. I have several board games I supported on Kickstarter with lots of great mini-figures, but for now I want to do the Gargoyles, and Thundercats, figures I've found. Back to the painting, I actually bought some pro quality figure paints, after watching some RUclips videos, but it's sort of intimidating and expense. I like trying the down and dirty acrylic color markers route.
