@pwyt4rk Personally something else shows through, the house got all too much (bad decision in the first place) so it's dumped, and moving on is wrapped in good intentions for the viewers. Always on to a new project when the previous gets too much.

Thank you! I couldn't have say it better - especially in English, because I'm German. But it is exactly what I wanted to say. I appreciate the honesty in Lauras videos. She shows everything, she shares her thoughts, her view to life, her view on herself, her knowledge as much as her shyness. And as a normal person, she sometimes struggles and she show this too. Many videographer in the internet don't show their failing - everything is always successful... And although everybody knows about his, many only want to see this successes. I prefer watching Lauras videos and I will do it furthermore. All the best for the family!

I'm glad that you took the time to figure out what you need. The channel is a vehicle but you are the driver. There are many channels that build things, repair things, etc, you bring yourself and the dynamics and thought processes that you create. That's the critical component.
I love how you try to reimagine and reuse discarded items. Your imagination is phenomenal and the fact that you can look at something and say “oh, I could use this, for this project.”
I wound up here a while ago, through Simone, and fell in love with the vibes, and the way you tackle your ideas and solve problems in your life. Your creativity, resourcefulness, and unwavering devotion to aluminum boxes was always fun to see each week. I enjoyed the Lise Lotte era and I'll miss seeing everyone you've worked with on a regular basis, but I'm excited to see you put your stamp on sculpture making.

I so love that you are going back to one week builds. That is what I started to follow you for. The house was great to follow, but those aren't the ones I go back to watch. The toastie build is one of the examples of what I love ☺️
I love this. It reminds me of the bench Laura made for her favorite vista in Cologne. She is so good at that. Functional, meaningful art sculptures that tell a story and connect to a community. It takes a lot of introspection and courage to know yourself enough and recognize that's the direction you want to go in. Wishing you all the best of luck and looking forward to seeing whatever you decide to make!
I'd like to make a suggestion for physical exhibit. Dedicate a wall to display cubes, maybe 12"x12". A 10' wall 12' long could have 120 of these cubes. Then open up to your audience to create sculptures for it. Guidelines: it has to fit in a 12x12x12 cube, be self contained, and do something. Call it the "Inspired by Kampf". It'll illustrate the impact of content creators on an audience not just who you taught.
FURNISCULPTURE? Yes, I am down for this adventure.
Also, there's nothing "immodest" about dreaming of an Art exhibit, especially when your projects ARE art. Love to Smudo, you, and your family!

I wouldn't have thought you'd move away from practical pieces, to art pieces, but felt you'd end up putting your artistic style into the practical pieces you make, adding beauty to the world without taking away the practical pieces. Now that I have kids, my work has transitioned into a love for CNC and laser cutters. I can do most of the work at the kitchen table while watching the kids, and pop down to the workshop to start the machines, etc. All the art can be done remotely, and the robots can do all the hole drilling and cutting. It keeps me sane and able to keep making things, but in a new way.
I was looking forward to that part of the house where you would finally have the chance to build the furniture and put back the bathtub and such :) But I'm on board for pretty much anything and if it excites you, that's what's important :) Congrats on the baby as well!

It is nice that you go back to your roots and keep us updated on the house from time to time. We are renovating a house too and it is a really long journey. You looked really tired on some of the last videos, finding an equilibrium is the most important thing in life. I am confident that your idea of mixing sculpture and furniture, art and functionality will work, that's what started your channel. A lot of people followed you and it proved that it worked

Ooh! This is EXCITING! I love the idea that we only see artists who succeed. I live with a wood artist. MANY of his creations are uber cool. Some, not so much. He's had success. He's had setbacks. Supporting creativity (on the sidelines) is sometimes difficult, but I've told him that my job is to keep life as normal as possible so he can live outside of the box. Much love to you and your family.
I love this new direction! I love how you listened deeply to yourself and set yourself on your own path. I will miss Felix. The fun you two had together was contagious. Last thing, having someone host your sculpture in a gallery would be great but not necessary for a wonderful display. You could create your own art exhibit and make it a unique and awesome event that fits your sculptures and vibe. So excited for you!

I initially subscribed for the house content and probably wouldn't have found your channel if it weren't for it. That being said, im so glad I found it with all the fun little projects because those actually turned out to be my favorites and while I still enjoyed the house content I found myself getting way more excited for the little filler projects that weren't related to the house. So I'm definitely sticking around and I'm actually so happy that you're trying something new and creative again! (Also, can I just say, your life is literal goals. I wish I was living in a sunny warm place with my wife and making ART for a living!!! So happy for you!!!)

It's interesting to me that you used those two examples as sculpture because I very much see you as one of those people who blend the lines between craft and art. Your builds are generally something functional but always must have, for you, a form of aesthetic beauty. It's not always my aesthetic but this is why I love anything you do. It's always more than just something functional.
