Yeah, especially with the sustainable factor : I have some material laying around, let's make it with it and maybe add / remove feature that are not needed for me. Appropriate the design and make our own product out of it while still supporting the initial idea somehow.

If she wants to sell it in Germany, over 100 would be too much. We like to spend money on usefull things, but 100+ is too much. A bag this size should be approx between 60 and 80. Maybe add a removable liner to the magical parts pocket? That way, greasy parts won't make the pocket permanently greasy and make all your future finds greasy too!

Adam's 4-in-1 screwdriver is nice, but at least here in Canada, the Pic-Quik screwdriver has 7 bits and 2 nut drivers in about the same size, very durable, not too expensive. You might be able to order one in. Of course, two of the bits are Robertson/square drive, which is everywhere in Canada but not as common in America, but you could just swap in any type of bit since it uses standard 1/4" hex drive.

"Emotional Support Tool Roll" (ESTR) - pronounced like 'Esther.'
    Meaning of the name 'Esther':
The name Esther is believed to be derived from the Hebrew root s-t-r, meaning "to hide," which reflects the Persian queen's concealed identity. Alternatively, it's linked to the Old Persian word stāra, meaning "star," which connects to the Near Eastern goddess Ishtar.
So, a bag named after something that means both 'hide' and 'star'-perfect for discreetly stashing your cool street finds while shining bright in your unique way!

Cool project, Laura. Perhaps a safety consideration: Maybe consider making the tool roll its own, removable thing, so you don't have to completely take the pouch off and completely unfold it, just to get to a tool. Unfolding the whole thing on an urban street makes all your contents pretty vulnerable. Sad that we need to think about these things, but such is city life these days.

As you know, Laura, with daily use, you will find ways to tweak and perfect the design. Iterate that prototype first so you aren’t forcing the iteration upon your most loyal fans. Certainly don’t OVERthink it… but certainly don’t UNDERthink it and rush things to market. Calling it an emotional support tool roll is awesome. With that awesomeness comes a huge responsibility to follow through on a promise. It’s no longer just a simple bag when it takes on that level of gravity!
Have you already found the ideal supplier (bulk discount) for things like that ratchet strap closure? I have a Timbuk2 bag that is still going strong after nearly 20 years. As I’m sure you know, that thing is the gold standard because it was iterated by bike messengers for bike messengers.
I want to know more about the decisions you make over materials and reinforced stitches and such. I love your commitment to your design aesthetic. I want to see more of the proof that only iteration can provide.
Thank you as always for your effort to create wonderful content. Don’t let too much of your Köln coolness succumb to the California madness. Please stay YOU!

This is super cool, really looking forward to seeing you use it! I'm especially interested in how the tool roll flap affects everyday usability and access to the bag, as to me having a heavy flap full of stuff that I have to move to access the contents of a bag is an absolute deal breaker. It just makes the most frequent interactions I have with the bag (getting to whatever is inside of it) vastly less practical and pleasant, plus the ergonomics of lifting a cloth flap holding dense, heavy things just really don't work for me. But of course our use cases and preferences are different! So, as I said, super interested in seeing how this works for you!

Wow that's so many features into that one tiny fanny pack that's crazy. I love the tool roll idea though, you don't see many fanny packs out there that have this.

Hi there, I saw in the comments that you're gonna release the patterns for this. Just to stoke the fire a bit: I'm refreshing your shop every week to see if they're there yet, I hope you'll release them soon! Love the design :)

I still like my multi tool Gerber needle nose and flashlight I did medical systems repair for decades and that was my 75% tool kit. Any thing above that and I was lugging in the big guns and test equipment.
Multimeters, oscilloscope, ratchet drives. Etc and yesterday I would carry a 6 in one driver most times as well but nor always.

stumbled accross this video, and am amazed. I'll be so interested when this bag is commercialised! looks like an excellent product. I'd buy one for sure. Oh, I'd see a loop/clip to quickly hang keys on, which would seem useful for me.

Great idea! I also like tool rolls, having a tiny tool roll for screw driver with 4 mm mini bit set with additional mini tools (like electronic repair & model craft). After seeing your great universal versatile EDC tool roll pouch and considering my personal positive expirience with water proof feature of roll top bags, having water sensitive tools / EDC gear, I wonder if it would be possible to add some kind of water proof (like roll top) feature to it. That would really make a difference for people living in wet regions far from dry regions. (Ok, in europe we just have had stark rain washing so much things away...)

As an artist who always wants to collect small things off the streets but has no pockets that can get dirty, I absolutely love this idea ❤❤ an area for your sketchbook and pens?? And potentially more tools, like tape, clips, stickers.... What could you possibly want more?!

In terms of screwdrivers, I must say I am loving the one that LTT (LinusTechTips) has made. It ratchets very nicely (doubles as a fidget haha) and stores a lot of bits inside!

Move the magnet slightly further away from the buckle - the buckle will scratch the cr@p out of your tool and most people want there tool or fasteners closer to their hip so you don't pinch it when you lean forward on a ladder.

This is so much more usable for a bike emergency tool kit (and general use) pouch than the type I see advertised for cyclists. If you produce and market it, definitely include the cycling market.

You've got a large enough fan base to produce more than 100 of these. Plus making more will push the production costs down.

Hi Laura, one thing that I would carry is a small bottle of hand sanitiser just to kill any bugs that get on my hands.
