P2017 Code intake manifold runner control valve stuck open
Replacing the valve on a 2008 Dodge Avenger
The check engine light was off before replacement but friend said the light went off a week ago and had it smoked right away. I passed and she knew the light would come back on. So she had it replaced.

Great video!!! Used this to fix the runner valve on my 2012 jeep Patriot latitude. Very similar to the video. Very tight space to get at the runner valve. Take your time and it's an easy fix.

The process is more complicated in a Caliber. Requires removal of additional components to gain access to the mounting bolts. Still a good instructional video.

From the looks of your video, you have to index the shaft to get it alignmed, then turn to align the fastening holes?
Hey Angel I was having some idle issues and thought I would check this out. I have a 2014 dodge avenger 2.4l. I see where the intake manifold runner valve is supposed to bolt on. But I do not have one on here? I also cannot find the wire harness connector that hooks up to the side of the valve. I don't know the whole history of the car but is there a chance my vehicle does not require this part? Any help is appreciated

My 2008 Chrysler Sebring 2.4(same motor as avenger) showed that rudder was stuck open and bank #1 was running lean. Replacing intake rudder should fix both of them correct?

Hi, you just need to remove the negative battery cable for a whole minute and then tighten it back to the battery. It will reset the check engine light. Welcome and thank you for watching my videos.

It’s probably leaking on the side of the engine. You probably need the water outlet kit that has orings

Hey Angel. I have a 08 Caliber I replaced the same part and I cleared the engine light but it came back on within 15 minutes. Could it be a bad part? I’m still getting p2004 bank 1 stuck open. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!!!
if you are still getting the same code. then that means in the first place you didn't have the p2017 code. Am i understanding that correctly you have a p2004.
Fix It Angel I had a P2004 code I replaced the part cleared the engine light and it came back on. Now after doing so I have a P2016 code. Just today I took the part back out and there is a pin that goes inside the manifold that the part aligns itself with and took that out and cleaned the pin and greased it up because I’m thinking it was maybe stuck and I was able to clear the light again but it came back up within 10 mins.

From Mexico city. With only changing the valve, the light will not come again? I have a p2017, journey 2009, i already have take it out the runner and the spring seems ok. I constantly soak it with wd40 , i erase the code and in a couple of miles the MIL light goes on again , I dont want to take off the whole intake manifold . Please comment. Or maybe a video on how to be sure, to check the valve is something wrong. Thanks in advance.
M&M VD replace the valve with a new one. Don’t waste your time trying to fix it. If I knew how to fix it then I would have done a video.
You won’t know unless you replace the part.
+Fix It Angel so..let me be a little more specific: in this avenger video or in the other video you change the valve and pass the smoke check, in both you only changed the valve, mi question is: did the engine MIL light wouldnt light again? Or did customer report he problem light again?
the light did not ever come back on. no check engine light after replacement with a new valve.

When you replaced the intake manifold. What was the reason for the replacement?
Its the only code showing up on the car and I replaced the intake once and code went away and came back replaced it second time and still saying that the runner is stuck open. At times car won't start or it will cut off while driving.
Sierra Moore well that’s strange. Get it diagnosed at a good shop. If they say it’s the intake runner. Then you replace it.
Getting it diagnosed by a professional confirms the part is bad.

bro, i was trying to replace the same thing on a kia sorento but the check engine light stays on. i wont erase. they are saying the values has to be reset with a computer.. my scanner is only capable of reading and erasing codes.. really sucks
neil manahon there was a tab to send to dealer to have the whole manifold replaced for our shop

neil manahon i meant to say TSB bud, at work we had Hyundai/Kias with IMRC valve issues. In a nutshell they would get sent to the dealer for a new i take manifold. This may apply to u, not sure.
