I’ve worked retail for 20 years. Decided enough was enough. Your videos helped me pass both P&C and L&H I start my new insurance career at 40 this coming Monday. Thank you!
Jesus Christ! I will start tomorrow for the very first time as an P&C agent for State Farm and I don’t know what can I expect, but all your videos has been really helpful for me so far… let’s see how it goes tomorrow and the rest of my life, I’m 51 by the way, am I doing this too late?
You got this! I’m so excited for you! It’s never too late to start something new in life, that’s what life is all about right? Please let me know how your first day goes.
@starclownonlime Awesome! I am 48 and studying for my P&C license. Just did my first day of the course. I come from computer support management and training role. I happen to have an awesome mentor with insurance sales. I hope to do well.
Great tips I just got my license and I want to make sure I have success. I am very detailed. In my former life I was a project manager so I’m hoping those skills are transferable.
Yay Kenny J! Just passed my exam today😁👏🏾😄. 3 part question.....What lucrative paths would you recommend for new P & C agents? Would you suggest adding life or Health next? Recommended company I should begin with?
Congrats!! Commercial Insurance is super lucrative. Especially when you land big accounts! Definitely do Life insurance next, my biggest deals have been from Life Insurance. Regarding the company, do you want to be captive or independent.
Hey Kenny, I’m one month in selling P&C and it’s been extremely rocky and honestly I don’t know if I’m gonna stay in the game. My training has not been the best and it’s frustrating. Your videos Inspire me to stick it out. I feel like I need to be with a more experienced agent. In my agency we are all new and our agent owner isn’t as available as much as I’d like. And you are dead on about servicing ! I feel like I spend ALL DAY servicing and never get the opportunity to sell. It’s super frustrating. But yes after one month in, I can co-sign that everything you said is absolutely accurate 😊
The future of P&C is online sales though direct marketing. Customer puts their information in a portal and 40 insurance carries compete for your business with the lowest rate. Companies like the Root, Lemonade, Hippo, the Zebra, etc. The 18 to 30 year old demographic is glued to their smart phones 24 hours a day, that's how they shop.
I’d ha e to disagree there. It’s all about where and how you market to. My clients come to me because they want the luxury of having a knowledgeable insurance broker.
Wow! Great tips and information. Globe Life reached out to me to interview and I have no experience/ training. I’m looking forward to going to the interview tomorrow to see if I can pivot into this career endeavor. My hope is that offer a base salary along with a commission
@@KennyJTV I was offered the job today-100 commission/1099. Not what I was expecting because I’m more familiar with base salary but I will take the L&H exam and hope for the best 🤞🏽I plan to keep my current job until I pass the exam. Thanks for continuing to drop 💎

Hi Kenny, I'm currently a Life and Health broker. I would like to ad P&C to my offerings but my current upline only focuses on life and health. Do you have any recommendations for none captive P&C uplines I should consider? Or any advice for selecting one?
There are no brokers that are hiring for independent agencies for P&C. Could I go through carrier independently and get licensed through them without the help of an agency?
Hi Kenny, thanks for this awesome information. Can you please advise on the best CRM system and website designer for a newly licensed P&C agent looking to open an agency? FYI, I have been writing Life Insurance for months but just got my P&C and I want to remain independent. Appreciate your help.
Hey thanks for the videos I really appreciate them. I had a great question to ask, so I am currently a 440 agent, and I wanted to obtain my 220 or something higher, reason being, I want to work overseas and I don’t know which way to go about it. I want to sell US insurance while living overseas! I’m not sure if that’s something that can be done. Please help 😅
Hey Kenny, awesome job on the video, I couldn't help but ask you that you stated you do cold calls in the U.S and internationally and I wanted to know if you need to be license in those international countries to solicit them or are you soliciting them for properties they own in the states?
Great video KennyJ! Im new in the business and am considering joining smartchoice for more carriers. Would you consider them a good company to work with?
Hello, I need your advise on how to start insurance agency from scratch?. How to get an appointment from insurance company with no insurance experience?! Thanks and good luck for everyone.
Kenny im disliking because i feel you are not transparent about the harsh reality of being a new P&c agent.. Depending on your agency .. Most times is toxicly sales driven and goal oriented. Lack of proper training assistance. Possibilities of being robbed by your agency owner on commissions. The difficulty of being a captive agent with a insurance company that isnt competitive. For example.. I work for allstate. if you do not have CURRENT insurance And maintained for the past 6 months you're disqualified. No perks or discounts for young drivers... Its just not competitive as geico or farmers.... therefore Most my clients are above the age of 40. this severely puts a barrier on my network because i am only 27. None of my friends are eligible for the insurance i sell. and if they are we cant beat the price... Im now searching for a new agency as we speak. Hopefully there will be some change.
I believe some people should look into taking the adjuster exam instead of agent exam..Its the same workload.. with a more secure income. Then become agents later on in the insurance game..
I’m speaking off of my experience. I had an amazing experience at State Farm and now having even a better one as an independent broker. Insurance will work if you work it.
