  • American planemaker Boeing is under close review by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The events of Alaska Airlines flight AS1282 on January 5th and subsequent discoveries of loose bolts on 737 MAX aircraft have put Boeing under an intense spotlight in recent weeks.
Ever since the tragic events in 2018 and 2019 involving the 737 MAX, the close relationship between the US Government and Boeing has also become a hot topic of discussion.
    It’s a relationship that we’ll examine in today’s video…

Meanwhile, Boeing still makes several aircraft in the top five as far as safety goes. As for the letter, I also "remember" who wrote it, and the circumstances surrounding it, unlike you.

But who legalized it? Politicians who were training their palms very well?

Yep, reminds of a pharma corruption of the Senate.

12 Dems voted no, each of whom took Pharma legal bribes, aka campaign contributions.

“Too big to fail” is what people often say about Boeing… But they’re going to test just how far it’ll go.

Can customers of airlines be forced to accept "too big to fail" flight tickets?

It goes further than most people realise. It's the num 1 export of the USA & long been subsidies indirectly & heavily promoted by officials at every level, especially on foreign trips, even the president is a glorified Boeing salesman. It is too big to fail. Anything will be done to protect it within reason, the biggest screwup is when stuff happens domestically. A plan crash in a developing country despite the outrage, in Washington no ones cares, Domestic issues....that's tougher to manage.

This is "paying a mayor's friend money so I can get the contract". You can be sure some of the money from that "friend" is kicked to the mayor

If an ordinary worker is paying taxes at a higher rate than a corporate rate, the worker should have a say in what public services taxes are invested in and what government policy should be before any lobbyists get a say in what the company they're lobbying for want. That's my opinion. For example, Ireland's corporate tax rate is 12.5% for trading income and 25% for non trading income. PAYE tax is 20% up to a certain threshold and 40% above that threshold. Imagine how much money a corporation has after paying 12.5% on millions of euro. Now Imagine how much an ordinary worker has after paying 20% on a few hundred euro. I may be over simplifying it but you can see the point I'm making.

Milton Friedman, may he rest in peace, answered the question of lobbying far better than I could ever do so I´ll simply recommend people to listen to his lectures, for free, here on RUclips.
