Awesome playing. TY Uncle Larry for turning me on to him. What a nice laid back dude. Tone is killin. Gotta dig into this and steal some stuff. Thanks Jedd H.
Good to hear you ... That rhythm had a very similar feel to the old "Little Feat" style of New Orleans boogie shuffle that the late Lowell George used to lay down.
@@JeddHughesOfficial Thanks for responding! I certainly think you and Tom are up there with the big boys. I don't consider music a competition sport, but you guys bring that something extra to the table that catches my ear!
Very cool to hear you've worked with Rodney Crowell and are doing some more stuff with him. We just saw him at the Franklin Theatre for the second time. First time, he had David Grissom - and that line up was killer & rockin, but the show last night was also excellent and more acoustic/unplugged. You could hear Rodney's vocals and words much better. First show I really only remembered David Grissom's playing and the overall band sound, but last night highlighted Rodney's songwriting abilities and the breadth & variety of great material he's done over the years.
Thanks for the lessons, playing, jamming and introducing me to Tony Rice.... did not know that technique was called "stuttering"... so glad for you and your efforts...
Good stuff! I'll try to catch you tonight. I had to laugh. I had just finished a "Billy Gibbons" thought when you stopped and said your were watching a ZZ Top vid. You certainly nailed the sound of that lick. I think It's a Tube Snake Boogie thang. You know, "She won't do it, but her sister will". Haha! I'll see if I can fish it out on a strat. Thanks much!
@@JeddHughesOfficial Hey Jedd. I also thought while I was diving into the early part of the groove that it had a Mark Knopfler "Money for Nothing" sound. Just an ob.
Hey Jedd, it seems this episode was written for me (I do stutter :) ) Looking forward to the show tonight and all your awesome sounds man. Keep up the good job and give my love to uncle Larry. Greets from the Netherlands!
@@JeddHughesOfficial Please do! He made my life a lot easier to bear last year going through really sad times and great personal loss. I'm just an average guitar player myself, but the power of music is often underestimated. Music has never let me down. I'm so glad I found your YT chanal aswel. By the time I started playing (70ties) we had to find out everything ourselves mostly by ear :) It had it charmes, I must say, but I consider it a privilege to be able these days, to actually get in touch with musicians like you and Tom, through the internet. Looking forward to your next episode. Stay safe & be well X!
Tony Rice "Guitar" on Rebel Records is a great record that showcases Tony's picking and style. It's a no frills recording so there isn't anything to get in the way of the guitar.
That feel is on point Homey, not for what it’s got - and it’s got it all - but for what it doesn’t…. 16th notes. I didn’t hear any extra nonsense that plagues most of us…noodling BS. You got it dialed in Hombre
Ah cheers mate. I used to chase all that shreddy stuff years ago but I find it more fun to try and plant a groove these days and bounce around that. Appreciate you tuning in mate!
Greate tone, man! Could you please explain how you set amp and fuzz pedal here? Always wondered how you guys make fuzz pedals sounds so smooth. Is it possible to sound like that with humbuckers?
Man it kinda changes everyday for me. I just keep turning knobs until I get inspired. Turning the fuzz up and the guitar down is a good place to start probably
@@JeddHughesOfficial I've been investigating their stuff since you got that pedal mate. The Creepy Face seems to be their more fuzz face based pedal and closest to what you have I reckon'.

has a slide tone to it... unique. see you tonight. been tuning into Rodney Crowell. love his philosophy, and his music
Rodney is genius. One of my very favorite humans. Cheers mate!
Tony blew my mind when I was a kid. His album Manzanita was incredible. His playing just floated....
Good to hear you ...

Oh man, thats high praise, thank you. That Lowell rhythm is other worldly.

Man if you could do a workshop on that Stanky swampy sound you were playing at the beginning!!! Holy cow that’s awesome!!
Tony Rice meets BG with fuzz. Sick!
Seen you on Homeskoolin & Brett Papa, you are a great player and I hope you post more videos, subbed

Great playing. Could you make a video about backwards bends? Or upside-down bends, what it called I don't know. Thanks
Thank you for sharing with us all.
Thanks for tuning in! more to come
58957 The Bluegrass Guitar Collection is another great Tony Rice record. Full of amazing playing by a master. When you see Tom tell him I said hey!
I'll have to check that one out this week David! Thanks for tuning in to the shed show and for the Tip mate! Really appreciate it.

Wonderful playing, I would much appreciate knowing how you move in & out of using fingers & pick so flawlessly,
Thanks James! Man I don't even think about it to be honest, I suppose after just doing it so much it just becomes second nature
Thanks Jedd. See you tonight!!!
Cheers Chris!
Jedd it sounds awesome

I really liked that “Silver Linings” song
Thanks mate! Great youtube handle btw! ha

wow!!!
Thanks mate!
I don’t understand a rub note? I seen the example but not following what you mean?
Its a note that bleeds over another and creates a harmonic sort of confusion…. works especially good with fuzz, like Bb ringing over C
Creepy Fingers make several fuzz's. Which model? Thanks!
I think its a one off mate, made with original components…i scored it off ebay a few months back
