Does the front panel on phantom snap off or is there a couple screws that need to be undone? Looks like it can be done without removing the decklid as well?
I went with the corner of the back panel of the deck where the brake line comes out of the Apollo City as opposed to the front. Fewer wires for me to mess up back there. There's just enough room to squeeze a Tile mate there. Tied a string to it for easy retrieval.
Where can it be put on the new 2022 City Pro?
Perhaps in the stem (below the handlebar)
Did this the second I received my Phantom pre-order back in July. There’s actually just enough space to slide it underneath the display motherboard, used a little mounting putty so it wouldn’t rattle around. Hoping this trick will also work with the V3 display also.
Great idea. But we think for most people, opening up the display might be a little intimidating. The front panel or deck is a quick and easy job :-)

Inside the deck. I have a kaabo considering an air tag but if someone steals it they’ll get a notification that there’s an AirTag near by. Then it starts beeping so they can find it

@@ApolloScooters I like the sound of that. And I know that most companies don't take the time or effort to build something like that because let's face it. It gets stolen.. youre supposed to just go and buy another one.

I have a City Pro 2022 and was trying to put a galaxy smart tag inside, but was having difficulty trying to remove the underside panel after removing the screws and didn't want to apply too much force in case I snapped or warp the shell so I aborted the mission. Could you give me some advice on how I would place this inside a city pro? Thanks

There should be room in the stem under your handle bar assembly for such a tag!
Just unscrew the headset like when the unit was received and put the tag down the stem before reinstalling the handlebar!

@Bemmer yes it tracks just fine, although for some reason, it just suddenly unpaired randomly (probably a Samsung Smart Things update) and it was annoying to reach since I put it pretty far down there.
Has anyone found a spot for one in an Apollo City because I'm having trouble
there is a tiny coin slot hole you can put the airtag in by the front wheel - look under the folding mechanism lock
Here’s my worry. It has an anti stalking feature. So if someone steals the scooter, they’ll get a notification that there’s an AirTag near by. So they’ll instantly know, hey there’s an AirTag in this scooter. Not to mention, it’ll start beeping so they’ll know exactly where it is.
then they will probably ditch the scooter somewhere and you will be able to go fetch it

@@BanAaron I put an AirTag actually inside the assembly of the Segway scooter that requires a hex bit to remove. Most people won’t have that tool handy. Also it’s possible to remove the speaker from an AirTag so it won’t beep.
@@BanAaronthat what happens to me, there is no lock for thief...its really easy to tore it off, they shoul make escooter who had it in somewhere. Airtag is just sticker

To add an Air Tag to the City 2021you can remove the front tray on the unit and slide one in the front of the deck!
What if you're an android user? Anyone got other GPS tracking devices they would recommend, preferably one that doesn't require a subscription? Thanks :)

I have a Samsung smart tag, it performs comparably to the air tag.
Yeah, I'm pretty disappointed that Apollo decided to go with an Apple only solution, given that most smartphones out there are Android, including mine.
Being lost, no chance. Being stollen yup.
Neat idea. But, wouldn't underneath the deck, be the first place a thief would look, in order to foil any tracking attempts by the scooter owner? Thiefs are way more sophisticated than we give them credit for. So, unless someone can come up with a better way to integrate a GPS unit, into a scooter., I see this as not the best option.
Our 2023 Pro will have integrated theft detection. Until then, we stand by the AirTag as a great solution. Might not be fool proof, but in most cases it will get the job done just fine!
@@ApolloScooters I would recommend taking out the speaker coil as the beeping noise is pretty loud. There are plenty of videos explaining how you can do this. And it's also a 50 50 chance the thief may or may not have his own Apple phone device to detect if an Airtag is on the scooter itself.
