BEGINNER FRIENDLY BACKSPIN TUTORIAL (journeybacktotheice)

Hi, everyone! In this video I will be going over how to do a basic beginner friendly backspin, as well as give a few tips and tricks to help anyone currently working on it. I've tried my best to break everything down into small easy steps. I'll leave the time stamps for each section below. The backspin is great for improving air position and getting skaters ready for the single axel, double, triple, and even quad jumps.

I'm a competitive adult skater that starting skating as an adult! A little over a year ago I started seriously working on my backspin and wanted to share a few tips + tricks that I found super helpful! I am not a certified coach. I am just an adult skater sharing my advice, tips, and tricks. I do have experience teaching learn to skate, freestyle, moves, and dance. Try everything mentioned in this video at your own risk. i’m going to try your tips because i can do axels with ease, landed some of my doubles but i just CANNOT do a simple backspin😭

Backspin is difficult to learn and some coaches may not teach it with the detail it deserves. In spite of how easy your coach makes it look and how briefly they may instruct you, you will need to put in some concentrated effort, time, youtube study, practice, and patience.
