You'll never convert me to "Elbaph." I don't care if Oda himself decides to spell it that way. It's "Elbaf" forever in my heart. The fable will live on. ✊
@@Itshighc I mean correct me if I'm wrong but I'd assume that oda writes it in Japanese, and given that both ph and f are written the same in Japanese oda didn't decide anything
@@Itshighc I thought the note last chapter said it wasn't Oda who changed the spelling, but instead that it was the folks who do the lettering for One Piece who made it "Elbaph" in the big typeface? There's a lot of stuff in One Piece (vivre card info, non cannon anime stuff, etc) that I don't take as confirmation unless Oda himself confirms a fact. Something like spelling is never something I'd take as confirmed without Oda's say so, especially when we consider the absurd array of choices the official makes when it comes to translation. There are clear instances of Oda stressing the importance of spelling through translation (ie Laugh Tale), and then there's the garbage that happens without his decision (ie Zolo, Levely, Elbaph). Throw on top of that the fact that Japanese doesn't translate well into English (L's and R's, ie Nefertari/Nefeltari, Alabasta/Arabasta, etc (neither choice is "wrong" in any case, but it stresses the fact that languages are living creatures and translation is HARD)) and you have a complicated mess, hence why I take everything with a grain of salt and refuse to spell it "Elbaph" without Oda's approval. And even if that happens, I'm still saying "Elbaf" because, again, the fable will live on. ✊
Hey Morj, fan of the channel. Just some constructive feedback here from what I've noticed in a lot of your discussion videos- it appears that your talking points, while interesting, only hold weight for maybe 5-10 minutes. A lot of your details you tend to repeat to fill out a video's length. Like the first ten minutes is just you on loop about how Elbaph is big. Seems like a video that could've been cut in half and still retain all the important information. And this is a similar trait I've been seeing in your videos. Take this criticism for what you will- cheers!
I'm certain Morj is aware of this. As the saying goes 'If I had more time, I would've written a shorter letter' and Morj probably doesn't have a lot of time. He has to pump these videos out weekly + a dozen more responsibilities, no time to spare on rewrites and making it more concise. Also longer videos add to watch time, which is youtube's most important stat
I've noticed this for a while now. When doing smaller analysis videos, Morj tends to loop and rephrase his talking points to fill out runtime. I have to watch on x2 speed or risk the video feeling extremely repetitive midway through.
This is a very well crafter theory, and you’ve somewhat convinced me. The one hole i see in this theory is that - for how well thought out you’re painting this setup to be - 800 years seems like a short time for giants to have developed a whole culture about what happened during the war. Giants live for hundreds of years, their chiefs are over 400 yo, therefore the war must have occurred 2/3 generations ago for them. Considering how Elbaf is being framed in the story and in this video I don’t think enough time has passed for this to be ancient fabled lore for the giants, it’s their recent past. They mights have been on Elbaf for a lot longer
Fair, maybe the dominance of Elbaph could have been a continuation or amplification (rather than start) of giant war culture, leaving intact other aspects of Morj's theory
Sufficiently well reasoned but I don't think this is correct. The fauna of Elbaph is equally large from cats to crickets. It seems much more likely to me that the tree itself is the reason for the gigantification of all the species on elbaph rather than the giants being invaders who conquered it
Morj said in his last stream that Wano lacks a clear main theme, so the Wano analysis is never going to be released. However, it's obvious that the main theme is identity or "the name." (The true Wano lies beneath the sea; Oden's most important moment is when he declares his name; the raid begins with the phrase sunnachi, meaning "forsake your name"; there’s the reveal of the true identity of the Gomu Gomu fruit and of Luffy as the one who brings the dawn of the world; Kaido repeatedly asks Momonosuke for his name, and Momo's character arc concludes with him declaring it to the rest of the country; the final panel contrasts Kurozumi and Oden. etc, etc.
If he did indeed say that, lacking a clear theme doesn't prevent him from doing an analysis. He could literally just point that out in the analysis, and then speculate on what he thought it might be a certain points. Or literally many other things. If he just doesn't want to do it, then just say it. At this point he's made a bigger deal out of not doing it. I'm not sure if he thinks he going to get whiplash for his opinion because he thinks the one piece community is all about positivity and "Goda". But at this point we are so far removed from the arc, I couldn't possibly imagine him getting that much backlash for his opinion.
The analysis script is done; just because there isn't a clear "main theme" doesn't mean there aren't several themes to break down, it just means that they are all messy and lack cohesion. While identity is an important theme that I discuss, it's really not the main theme, it's just the most easily identifiable because it's easy to notice characters switching identities and proclaiming who they are. If I had to say the best candidate for the actual primary thematic argument that the entire plot is built to communicate, it would be the ideas of Chapter 1049 (the climax of the battle). Not going to break that down in detail here, as that's what the video is for, but re-reading the arc it does seem like that has the best argument for being the main theme of Wano, but it's just so poorly incorporated that most readers may not even realize that's the main point of the arc until it's clumsily spelled out at the end.

You mentioned that giants are the most powerful race, however the race most over power is and always be the lunarian race, for that reason vegapunk uses lunarian as the base for the new Seraphim.
Exactly, and they were living on the Red Line originally (the most valuable and safest land in the world), till the Celestial Dragons likely exterminated them. Strength = Possession of the best land.
@MrMorj I see, in the current time as you said the giants are the most powerful race, they have the military power and high ground/land, besides as you mention in the video wano has in deed a similar power like elbaf, a powerful army (samurais and weapon) and high walls which protect the country, furthermore they have an ancestral weapon. In the past IMU steal the land of gods from lunarian and now in the present probably he steal an ancestral weapon. However to is clear to me that once York provide with energy the weapon which destroyed lulucia, IMU will send that weapon to destroy elbaf and eradicate both, the new joyboy and nation with so much power like elbaf
Im kinda disgusted by the amount of people constantly spamming "where wano" this and that. Like its coming yall. Scripts take ages. Love the vids as always
Hear me out on 2 points: 1) What if Saul’s bandages are inverted - outside shows white but on the inside is a rubbing of the last road poneglyph 😮 this would confirm he is the man with the (frostbite) burn scars AND that sleeping gas may be the agent he has set up to keep people from coming after him. This could also imply that Rodo is working WITH Saul to keep road poneglyph seekers/World Government out (using his navigator’s eye to predict ship direction by trends and extracting them before arrival) and there could be a decoy ship in the middle of that gas somewhere (according to the legend). This also could confirm Saul was on the coast waiting for the crew so he could bestow the last rubbing to them (Robin) - the quote of the person was short and appropriate for someone who is hurt, dying and/or short on time. This also means if there is a ship in the gas, Caesar Clown is the only character capable of searching through that gas 😅 2) The giants must think that the Prince of Elbaf who surrounds himself with a crew of humans (inferior in the eyes of giants - maybe Jarul’s eyes?) is despicable and he is unworthy of being his country’s representation. Hence, tie him up and keep him from leaving and/or controlling the country.
Interesting theory as I’ve been thinking that Elbaf will be the place where we get Nika/Joyboy lore, something about the ancient kingdom, Shanks lore/background, some idea of where to go to the 4th poneglyph if they aren’t already at its location, and finally my last two are hopes: 1) Vivi rejoins here so as to move to the next mini arc, which would be the crew meeting with Dragon and Sabo for the message to be passed down. I feel that if Kuma doesn’t die in Elbaf, he, Bonney, Lilith, and Stussy will be left with the RevArmy. 2) a war that causes Ragnarok between Luffy, Loki, Shanks, and (hopefully) the new Supreme Commander of the Gods Knights with a couple of other members (if not all of them). As, if all this is covered then upon leaving Elbaf, Luffy just needs to come into contact with Vivi, Shanks, Cross Guild, Blackbeard, and the WG
Elbafs height is more than sky island Its 1st layer touches clouds And it still has more one layer above it So technically elbaf is valuable than skypiea or other sKy island (Red line maybe safest tho )
By far the most valuable, but the vast majority of the world likely weren't aware of sky islands or the routes to get to them, or else they would all have just migrated to the skies as soon as 95% of the lands they were living in were sunk beneath the waves.
Making merch based on an island we haven't seen it completely is truly bold lol I'm sure that the tree doesn't stop at the clouds lol at least 10,000 meters tall, to get to the white sea
Safest islands are Zunisha and Water7 ( once Iceberg make it float) Dunno of Germa Snail Kingdom counts as Island but yeah, After that It is Elbaph and Wano due to their heigjt.
This video aged significantly on point rather quickly in regards to the Adam tree. Chapter 1131 summary basically confirmed that tree in the center of Elbaf to be the Adam tree.
Red Line, Elbaph and Wano might be the true safest places ON the blue sea, held by the three most powerful groups or faction. but as a honorary mention you could include Skypia at fourth place with very strong fighters like the Shandorians. not to mention this (and many other sky islands) are in a similar height above ground as the Red Line is. and they can be pretty difficult to get to and top of it all, many people think of those islands as if they where fairy tales, not believing in their existence at all.
I think the only plausible choice would be the Navy. Teach is going to go for Wano bc of Caribou's intel. Cross Guild is undermanned & may be heading to Impel Down to increase their numbers. Yggdrasil catching fire may have been foreshadowing to Sakazuki coming to set the land on fire.
honestly i think you could narrow down groups who would want elbaf to a couple choices. you can exclude anyone on paradise because of logistics. outside of oda introducing a new island, there arent many that have the man power to challenge the giants like dressrosa or the prodence kingdom. so the only ones with a decent chance would be totto land or hachinosu. the marines could but after the failure at egghead i think they would want to hold off before another altercation with the giants and luffy again. totto land could happen as big mom story does have a few hanging threads especially if she survived. blackbeard has many reasons to go to elbaf, shanks, loki's fruit, final poneglyph and now land.
Most likely all inhabitans of the one piece world could live in elbaph If needed. And here we have luffy with the possibility to, in a sense, be the Gummi that holts them all together. Would be a nice thing, even for a short moment.
Nah, its mentioned in the story, I think in Dressrosa, where the Long arms and Long legs have been beefing since before the void century. ‘Bout a millenia I believe. Although not all are like that with each other, that beef is active.
A lot of this video is based on a mistranslation. The original Japanese just said that Elbaph was once "constantly devoted to" (akekureta) war. It says nothing about Elbaph being the "birthplace of war". The world started sinking AFTER the war began. So when the war began, people had no incentive to look for higher ground. I think it is unlikely that the war STARTED at Elbaph. I think it is more likely to have started at the Ancient Kingdom that the 20 Kingdoms attacked. That being said, I think it is very likely that the Giants decided to live on the giant tree because of the world sinking during the Void Century. And I also find the correlation between faction-strength and homeland-elevation is pretty interesting. This MIGHT be the result of the "battle for safe ground". (Note the use of the word "might")
There’s nothing to suggest that it took the entire void century for the 200 metres to rise, for all we know it happened all at once, and the reason the Mother Flame only caused a 1 metre rise is because it’s 200x weaker then the proper power source.
I predict Loki may not be the strongest traditionally, but actually be strong through cunning/trickery like his mythological counterpart. That way, he serves as a model or foil for Usopp on what a true warrior can be.
Morj! Have you checked out Philip Chase videos of his thoughts about One piece? Hes an english professor that recently has been looking into manga and started sharing his thoughts on one piece about 7-8 months ago. I feel like a podcast/livestream between you two is a match made in heaven. He is very analytical and i think his analysis of the deeper meanings of the story is something that would mesh great with your thoughts and knowledge about the series.
We got a giant that's 400yo already, the void century was 2-3 generations ago, not long enough to develop a war culture. Elbaf clearly has as much if not more history than Alabasta, the giants are known as the strongest army, who would actually try to take their land during the floods? It makes more sense that giants fought for the motherland and then split up around the world, which is why there are giants in other places of the world, like where Saul is from and why he doesn't like elbaf giants.
I have some questions: 1. Where does the god elbaph play into this theory?(Because isn’t he supposed to be real like Nika?); 2. The 20 kingdoms already had their islands like alabasta and dresrossa, so who was suppose to be fighting for elbaph during that time?; 3. How can we assume that the tree in elbaph is the Adam tree?(we have seen maybe 10% of the one piece world and franky said the island of the Adam tree was destroyed and “people” kept coming back to rebuild around the tree, which doesn’t sound like elbaph); and 4. How in the world would anyone be able to come to elbaph and steal some of the wood from that tree in order to sell?
I could see it. Everyone laying claim to Elbaph, the same way every faction in Skypea wanted to claim Upper Yard, starting war 400 years long. The Skypea arc has become a goldmine for the endgame of One Piece. I would't put it past Oda to go down this path. Whether or not Luffy defeats another god, true or false, by the end of this arc remains to be seen. PS: Also, I seem to remember people linking Birka (the sky-island Enel destroyed and home to Urouge) to the Treasure Tree Adam. I might be wrong on this one.

He needs to be forced to have accountability for once. Constantly being late to streams and intentionally missing deadlines he told his viewers really show that he doesn't think his viewers matter and worth his time.
This is best convincing theory on internet 😊😊
Outstanding morj
Common Morj W🔥🔥🔥
Another Brilliant analysis
He said the script is already finished, now he needs to film the video and edit it etc
Its his fault for missing deadlines that he himself made
I remember the
"It will be out before the wano arc in anime ends"
it was supposed to come out on september 17 he literally said it
Just attention seekers.
@@rendezvousonmemorylane He said that at the latest the Wano video was gonna come out on sept 17th, he's almost 2 months late now.
This was a good analysis video, Morj
the minks also got zou which is safe from flooding
Hear me out on 2 points:
1) What if Saul’s bandages are inverted - outside shows white but on the inside is a rubbing of the last road poneglyph 😮 this would confirm he is the man with the (frostbite) burn scars AND that sleeping gas may be the agent he has set up to keep people from coming after him.
This also means if there is a ship in the gas, Caesar Clown is the only character capable of searching through that gas 😅
2) The giants must think that the Prince of Elbaf who surrounds himself with a crew of humans (inferior in the eyes of giants - maybe Jarul’s eyes?) is despicable and he is unworthy of being his country’s representation. Hence, tie him up and keep him from leaving and/or controlling the country.
You killed it with this 🔥🔥
This is a good theory
Wow, that just made this a LOT more interesting.
Wait didn't Morj predict that the antagonist of Elbaf would be the gods knights?
Wouldnt Skypeia be the most valuable land by this logic?
Elbafs height is more than sky island
Its 1st layer touches clouds
And it still has more one layer above it
So technically elbaf is valuable than skypiea or other sKy island
(Red line maybe safest tho )
@@YhwachxD_ and barely anyone knows how to get to skypiea
Its probably the most accessible land connected to the ground
By far the most valuable, but the vast majority of the world likely weren't aware of sky islands or the routes to get to them, or else they would all have just migrated to the skies as soon as 95% of the lands they were living in were sunk beneath the waves.
@@MrMorjWill Elbaf be Summit of High West that Gan Fall said is other way to get to Sky Islands
What about "elephant back city" 😂
This definitely adds more meaning to Momo's decision to keep Wano's borders closed! Great planning on his end 👏👏
I can’t wait when ppl see the skypia and elbaf connection its actually really wild
Making merch based on an island we haven't seen it completely is truly bold lol
I'm sure that the tree doesn't stop at the clouds lol at least 10,000 meters tall, to get to the white sea
Safest islands are Zunisha and Water7 ( once Iceberg make it float)
Dunno of Germa Snail Kingdom counts as Island but yeah, After that It is Elbaph and Wano due to their heigjt.
This video aged significantly on point rather quickly in regards to the Adam tree. Chapter 1131 summary basically confirmed that tree in the center of Elbaf to be the Adam tree.
Bro, make a detailed video of Future Power ups of all the Strawhat members in detail.
sky islands safer, but I'm still listening
Nvrm Elbaf still safest "Land" hard to grow crops on clouds and salt water
Love this theory!
Red Line, Elbaph and Wano might be the true safest places ON the blue sea, held by the three most powerful groups or faction. but as a honorary mention you could include Skypia at fourth place with very strong fighters like the Shandorians. not to mention this (and many other sky islands) are in a similar height above ground as the Red Line is. and they can be pretty difficult to get to and top of it all, many people think of those islands as if they where fairy tales, not believing in their existence at all.
great vid lorj
I think the only plausible choice would be the Navy. Teach is going to go for Wano bc of Caribou's intel. Cross Guild is undermanned & may be heading to Impel Down to increase their numbers. Yggdrasil catching fire may have been foreshadowing to Sakazuki coming to set the land on fire.
Fantastic observation! What a great story if you like to stop and look around and ask, "why?"
honestly i think you could narrow down groups who would want elbaf to a couple choices. you can exclude anyone on paradise because of logistics. outside of oda introducing a new island, there arent many that have the man power to challenge the giants like dressrosa or the prodence kingdom. so the only ones with a decent chance would be totto land or hachinosu. the marines could but after the failure at egghead i think they would want to hold off before another altercation with the giants and luffy again. totto land could happen as big mom story does have a few hanging threads especially if she survived. blackbeard has many reasons to go to elbaf, shanks, loki's fruit, final poneglyph and now land.
Torino kingdom is worth bringing up as a tie to the ancient kingdom, with their limited but advanced technology
Most likely all inhabitans of the one piece world could live in elbaph If needed.
And here we have luffy with the possibility to, in a sense, be the Gummi that holts them all together. Would be a nice thing, even for a short moment.
Morj thinking Elbaph will be like smash ultimate: EVERYONE IS HERE
I brought up the Ox Lloyd in a stream, the famous ship of war. I feel like it will be mentioned again this arc
The wano analysis is the friends we made along the way
It makes sense since they named their new conquered land after God of War.
DADDY MORJ ❤
you forgot the sky islands .., those would indefinitely be the safest places to live
“and the single safest island in the entire ocean is the island of Elbaph, towering high in to the sky”
Red line and Marijoies: “uhm”
Also in norse mythology once loki was realsed from his binding is when ragnorok began to go into motion so luffy get set him free and began the end
He never said that it did
@ He said that the rising of the sea over the Century caused them to fight for the land, that sounds like to me he believes it was a gradual thing.
Damn never thought about under the big tree… probably the only land mass that reaches the true bottom of this planets earth and the sky islands
what if there are tunnels within the roots of the big tree that stretches around the globe. maybe that’s what shanks’ ship is using to travel fast
When I was young I used to like this sort of theories. Now just wild guesses. Particularly with that Lily Imi crap
Not gonna lie, those posters look pretty cool.
I love that the Wano Analysis isn't coming
That’s it.
Luffys dream is to drain the ocean and the one piece is a drain plug.
Sticking to it for fun now.
my boy Morj is cooking
These posters are all so amazing. But unfortunately they are out of my budget atm..
Yeah me too, I realy wanted to get Hachinosu one
We got a giant that's 400yo already, the void century was 2-3 generations ago, not long enough to develop a war culture. Elbaf clearly has as much if not more history than Alabasta, the giants are known as the strongest army, who would actually try to take their land during the floods? It makes more sense that giants fought for the motherland and then split up around the world, which is why there are giants in other places of the world, like where Saul is from and why he doesn't like elbaf giants.
I wonder if Elbaph is the summit of High West (usuall way zo reach the white sea), or if that place will be refferenced/revealed one day
HOURS BEFORE THE REVEAL ON THE FULL SUMMARY THAT LOKI HAD SUBORDINATES WHILE HE WAS IMPRISONED
What about Gecko Moria's castle/ship being the third safest, and that Captain Buggy and his men use it? 😂
The strongest claiming the safest land gives Shanks being the protector of the weak another layer.
That paints Loki’s intended actions much worse with this revelation
Your artist did big waves at the bottom of the tree..those were mountains
this is a fire theory
Elbaf analysis before Wano analysis is crazy 💀
Spoiler alert*: I stand corrected. Nice call
Morj just out here spoiling One Piece for everyone
what if there are tunnels within the roots of the big tree that stretches around the globe. maybe that’s what shanks is using to travel
That thumbnail artist must be a fan of part 4 because why am I seeing killler queen? 😂
