Thanks for the video! I got a good deal on a P365 XMacro but it didn’t have a manual safety. Reason why I want a manual safety is because I’m new to carrying and would like the manual safety to build up confidence. I’m now comfortable carrying guns without manual safeties as I also got a Glock 19, but having the manual safety on the P365 has helped me build the confidence to get to carrying all the time with any handgun without a manual safety.
I was looking at the p365-XL Spectre comp. But they all don’t have safety. I think one that come with safety is the p365-XL rose gold one. Can I just buy a new handle with a safety space already on it and buy the safety manual switch. Do what you did in the video but instead of cutting the handle. Just replace with a new one that already have one?
Excellent video! Not having a manual safety on your carry gun can get you killed. If God forbid someone is struggling with you and is able to take your gun, having a manual safety may prevent them from being able to shoot you. If they don't know how to disengage the safety and use the gun, it can give you time to pull a backup pistol or escape. Massad Ayoob has some good information on this subject! By the way, the reason you're not satisfied with the job you did cutting the grip frame is haste. If you had taken your time with hand files you would have done a much better job. Make the initial shallow cuts with a small saw or Dremel, then finish with files. Take more than 5 minutes. The results are worth the time!
@@kurtthegunsmithI was looking at the p365-XL spectre comp. But they don’t come with the safety. The only one that does is the rose gold. Can I just buy a new handle and the safety pin to do the same as in this video? Thank you.
Some like the idea of having a safety to manually disengage before firing. That's actually one of the major hangups people I've talked to have with these, they aren't comfortable carrying it without a safety.
I grew up in the military so I was always used to shooting a weapon with a safety and even though I've been carrying my x macro for a year without a safety and I'm comfortable with it either way, I still wish I had one. Just all depends on what you train to and how you're raised around weapons. There's pros and cons to each so really it just depends on the user. If anything you can always leave the safety off. The best way in my opinion to carry without a safety is a double single action but there's nothing that comes close to the 365 series. Closest option imo is the CZ p01/p07 I think.
I have it on my 365XL and like it. Wish my 320 had one.
Nicely done video. Very helpful.
Life saver, i almost didnt by a sig due to the lack of thumb safety on the shelf. Thank you a bunch

Great video! The frame mod part was a nice touch and reminded me of a castle nut staking video I saw once 😅
This video was so useful. I just got a P365X and I was considering doing this until cutting the frame part.
Replacement frames with the safety cutout are relatively cheap
@@kurtthegunsmith Not on sig's website, that cost $90.
@@Strider-RagnarokWilson combat ftw
@@kurtthegunsmithwhere would you buy one of these kits?
Thanks for the vid! I know a ton of guys that would do this!

Where do you order one of these safety kits at? I’m looking to add one to my x macro
Wow. So because they don’t offer a manual safety on the X Macro Comp, I have to buy the part….and the new grip module. 😡
Excellent video!

Have you felt any difference in the trigger pull.
Nope, this part doesn't interact with any parts of the trigger when disengaged, therefore your trigger pull will be exactly the same

I can’t for the life of me get the takedown safety bar back on correctly
Did you try hitting it with your purse?
Why would anyone do that?
