Wow! How wonderful! I just came to my computer to check what the leave curl was, read an article and then hunted for you to learn what I can do. I couldn't believe when your email showed up with my answer!
foiler feeding is a lifesaver for me because the potting mix I use (espoma) retains a ton of water then you add in the mulch and I can go sometimes a week and a half to 2 weeks without needing to watering my peppers in the heat of the summer. so to avoid overwatering but still keep up with my fertilizer schedule, foiler feeding comes in real handy.
I love your videos, mate! With all the craziness going on in the world, it is great to switch off and see someone so passionate about what they do and do so well! Take care of yourself and keep the content coming!
Great looking product. Could you do a follow up with different kind of foliar feeds you can use and how to make them? You touched on them, but didn't go into detail
BEST PURCHASE I have ever made for my garden, EVER!!! EZ FLO! Hands down, the BEST!! I use it for my annuals and it saves me a few HOURS every week! Love it! A PLUS...I had a question when I first purchased and I called the phone number and a real live person answered...I love when that happens😀 They were polite and helpful. All that to say, BUY an Ez FLO if you do any kind of regular fertilizing! 😉
How much is it?
Flat Earth Sage they have a few models. I have the same one in the video and it was in the call park of $100 2 years ago. When I was looking they had a $50ish dollar one that was smaller. I would look it up, but hopefully that gives you an idea of what to expect. They also make huge ones if you have a full on farm, but idk what those cost. 😉
What kind of fertilizer do you use? I may be over thinking this but it doesn't seem like a good fit for organic fertilizers like Neptune's Harvest unless you have a pretty big garden since in order to get the proper feed rate you would have to fill the whole thing with undiluted fertilizer an then whatever you have left in the tank would be mixed with water and get nasty before it was time to use the rest.
Fantastic information for fruit growth ! Thanks for this information ♡ I've never done this fertilizer before- looking forward to trying.
Love your videos, been watching for a couple of years now. THX 🙏🏼
Gonna do some foliar feeding this evening. Perfect timing once again, thanks, Luke!
Nice! Thnx for the 411 on this product & as usual a learning video on why the leaves are curling & dropping 😎👍🍃☀️
I have one of those easy flos great infuser works great, I. Built a feeding needle for deep root feeding and you can even use it to fert the lawn. Reccomend it 100 percent
Decided to get one...LOVE IT!!
Was watching your Apple 🍎 trees episode. in containers , many people asked to show how the trees are doing . It was in 2017 . Comments were 2 weeks ago . Daughter was like 1 so fun to see her grow too.
Ty for this treasure. Ordering mine now!
I actually have 2 of them simply a great product use it mostly to fertilize my lawn and evergreen trees 😃😃
Macronutrients (N, P, K, calcium, magnesium, and sulfur) should be applied to the soil, as the plant requirements are higher than what could be supplied through the foliage. Plants have a difficult time absorbing these nutrients through their leaf tissues. On the other hand, micronutrients (including zinc, boron, copper, iron, manganese, molybdenum, etc) are usually required in small amounts and can be applied through the foliage. You can normally provide what the plant needs with two or three annual applications. However, for the leaves to absorb these micronutrients, the proper formulation for foliar application must be used - formations such as iron or zinc chelate. I researched this through the Cooperative extension literature. It seems your promotion of the solution needs quite a bit of clarification in order for it to be effective. Otherwise people will be throwing the money away or potentially damaging their plants
Bacteria, Fungi, Protozoa, Nematodes, earthworms, microarthropods make those nutrients available. Soil health is key. Avoid salts like phosphates, sulfates, etc. Soil has everything you need, you just have to make sure someone is home to unlock. I'm not a fan of any fertilizer, just compost
Usually I keep away from Miracle-Gro, except for Summer annuals and a hedge in front that needs a feeding. Is Miracle-Gro (regular, 20-20-20) a bad choice for the hedge?
Peter Clarke, miracle grow and anything Monsanto/Bayer is bad for the planet.
Thats looks awesome , great product
Really enjoyed this, Luke. Would love to see a followup video on "return on investment." At what point do you decide an additional effort, such as foliar feeding, is justified? How do you decide foliar feeding is a better return than conventional fertilizing? And so on...
Great video! Thanks Luke🌻
Great video as always Luke. Look forward to using something like this in the future. I was wondering if I can foliar feed my tomatoes with a molasses solution? I've used an organic fish kelp solution and that's awesome but wanted to try molasses also. I'd just do a watering with it but my plants are in black plastic with drip irrigation. What do you think my dude?
I just got one in the mail earlier this week from HOSS tool. I haven't used it yet but hope to on Monday, my day to fertilize. Thanks for the review.
Hi Christina, can you confirm the price range? Just need to check whether this is within my budget. Thanks
Yes, I can't find prices for ezfloinjection 🤦♀️🤷♀️.
@@joycebrown5440 I just checked out their website and clicked on "Where to Buy". At Sprinkler Warehouse, They are on sale right now. The 3/4 gallon is $52.48 US, 2 gallon is $62.18, and the 1 gallon is $103.95. Not certain why the 1 gallon is so much more unless it is a misprint. I didn't check the other online stores listed, but you can do that.
@@h.vandewalker2428 thanks for the info x
Loved it,
Keep it up!
Is it ok to use this idea for fertilizing in general? And can I use warm tea to fertilize with that?
Hello man! Love your videos...Quick Question-----> my tomatoes plants are about now 4/5 feet high and I'm just about to plant them due to weather here in northern Canada ....if I top them, will they make tomatoes anyway?
Once again, you convinced me to buy another gardening tool. I just received notice that my foliar feeder has been shipped. LOL
I ordered mine last week to be able to run liquid fertilizer through our drip system.:) I was excited to see you loved this product! Please be sure to add a anti-siphon/backflow preventer (unless the unit has one built in, but I didn't get that impression when I was looking at info when purchasing it). It is important for safety.
Back flow devices have been a part of the plumbing code for thirty years. If you don't have on your house today, it is because your house is grandfathered in, or the device has been removed. You defiantly want to prevent any chemical from back washing into your plumbing system.
Typically backflow preventers required are at your service connection to a mainline. So if there is no anti-siphon type fitting on a hose bib it could technically still go into your house system.
Hi, the Kloud nylon rope product you so enthusiastically suggest in your tomato-tying video is "currently unavailable". Can you suggest another site or another product, please? Also, what is the link for your "how to single stem tomatoes" video, please? Thanks!
Hey Luke, sometimes I do foliar feed, but I shy away from it because I worry about spreading disease like leafspot or mildew. Should I not be so concerned? I normally like to let water warm up in troughs rather than cold from the hose also (clearly a labor trade off though).
I welcome a good commercial as long as my money is invested not wasted.
Ohh did I mention I absolutely love it!
If you are using a compost tea, youd probably want to take the filter out. I recommend compost tea as a foliar feed for the beneficial microbes to glue to the leaves, if you know how to make it properly (5 gallon bucket of good water, no chlorine, half pound worm castings, 1/2 tsp kelp, 1/2 tsp humic acid, aerate 24 hrs) Only need to be 70 % coverage and they take care of the rest. If you have chlorinated water, fill your bucket with water add a drop of humid acid, if your water turns color then the chlorine is neutralized. Compost extract (not tea because no foods added so no microbe glues) is good for a soil drench, 3 minutes to make, take a quick scan with the microscope as you do with the compost tea to make sure everyone is home. Before adding anything, check the biology in your soil, you dont want to waste good compost. Worm castings are safe and typically pathogen free. Beneficial microbes make these nutrients available that are already in the crystalline structure of soil. Bacteria, Fungi, Nematodes and Protozoa are the keys to unlock those nutrients.
Thanks Luke 👍🏻😁
Hi Luke, what do you use as liquid fertilizer?
Awesome, i think ill put mine on my drip system!!
Wow that’s a great idea!
Thought i would try the masterblend hydroponics nutrients as a foliar spray.
My God they suddenly became happy after.
Monstera leaves turned from a slight yellowing to a lush green so fast.
Thank you for speaking rapidly. You’re succinct while not sacrificing information!
For the first half of the video I sat here thinking is he going to walk around holding that jug??? Then I saw it goes at the house valve. Lol I was looking at it way wrong also its midnight
ditto, I have a small one you walk around with, this is kinda pricy.
Me too! 😂
I have TONS of Duckweed (I think it is duckweed) on my pond. I actually have to rake it off when we have mild winters and the ducks don't come in. Was wondering if there was a way to make a liquid fertilizer out of that.... (anyone know?
there is a dilution rate
for example if i use 10 ml per litre to fertilize the soil how much should i use on the leaf?
Can you foliar spray your plant at 115 degree hot climate at 8 pm in AZ. Leaf turn yellow and curl from heat. Can I spray those leaves? How much is your ezflow?
Saved the fertilizer on Amazon...2 gallon is about $120. I will have to wait to get it, but good to have it saved!
Any liquid soluble fertilizer will work too.
Love the double A. Thanks for the information. Your channel has helped me start my little backyard garden.
I let the algae take hold in my indoor hydroponics. It's an ebb and flow bed of LECA for a young apple bonsai grown from seed. I believe the algae is attempting to choke out the apple plant because I keep trimming it back to shape and style the plant. I'm going to try to foliar feed and stop the flow of water to the bed. The bed of LECA will hold water for months. I cleaned the reservoir and will assess my next steps after seeing the plant's response.
I hope this will help the algae to live in synergy.
Also, an observation about development in general. The development is permitted to the extent that the rest of the environment allows for development. I believe this heuristic is a statement that fits to all organisms or even groups of organisms.
I do wish that RUclips noted when a writing is edited. This mechanism can provoke unnecessary manipulation of content.
I have an ez flow that cracked in only a couple of years of normal use. I just use a siphon now.
Get some quick-connect hose attachments to make it even easier to move around from location to location.
Thanks for finding this channel and sponsoring it EZ Flow.
Question though... how do you know what the ratio is and if it's achieving a good ratio?
And if you're using a hose instead of a pump sprayer, most people don't have hose hooked up to rainwater tank. What can we do to get our hose water good and healthy for the plants? We have a community well but they put chlorine in it. If I let it sit out for a few days, then I can't hook it up to through the hose.
Not a lot you can do, carbon filters are a good start, an elevated rain barrel could help since they often have a garden hose fitting built in with gravity pushing out the water, besides those things I'm sure there are options but every one I can think of involves spending some kind of money on filters or barrels or pumps.
@@lazyh-online4839 Yeah elevated water tower or carbon filter from house is all I could think of also, he did a video on emulating rainwater and that really lead me down a rabbit hole of understanding rainwater.
@@TheVigilantStewards Get a small elec pump that hooks up inline. You won't need to have line pressure.
I have a hosepipe in-line filter which I got off Amazon.
I just ordered a one gallon pump sprayer and for me, that's enough. People try too hard to avoid any kind of effort, and overbuy on products that don't work, as he said he's thrown away other sprayers. His growing area isn't that big. Mine isn't either. I was going to get a two gallon pump with wand, but that's overkill. I think if you start small, you can get a better idea of what you need. When he spoke of carrying two gallons in a back pack, that is not necessary. But everyone is different. I also want to use sources without the chlorine and chloramine, which our water from the tap has. Plants don't like it. I let big bowls of water sit out for at least a day and use that to water the plants. I also have a dehumidifier that needs emptying three times a day. I use that as well for the plants, which is distilled water from the air.
Luke, I am a huge fan and respect your recommendations and experience in the garden. Regarding your recommendation in this video of EZ Flo, I’m curious if you saw that over 40% of the online reviews on their website were one (*) star.
Don't believe everything you read in the review section... If you look at the model he represented on Amazon is has a 4 star average. FYI- I do work for the company
Lots of follier feeding products available on the market that also offer a mixing diffuser. What makes this product different? I hope your sick fruit trees and strawberry plants get well.
Can this be hooked up to a transfer pump as I use rain water on my garden and fruit trees since my city water has so much chlorine and chemicals in it.
Why not, it's just plumbing.
Can you use this to treat plants with BT?
What fertilizer are you using?
Cool
Please show the fertilizer you are using and put links to it.
MIgardener this question is off topic but is your cacao tree still alive and if it is could you do a update on it? The reason why i ask is because i want to buy one but it seems like every person on youtube that try's to grow them they always die.
How do we know how much fertilizer to put into the container and what ratio we are using? Could you explain more in detail?
Right. And can we see a video on how quickly the fertilizer gets used up... showed nothing about the inner-workings of the unit, just hook up and go.... not a good way to plug a product. Still love the channel though.
The ol classic A A ₿
Is there a way to do this without a hose hookup? Maybe a pump spray? I have some from fast growing trees and I am having a lot of problems. They are container trees and are nowhere near a hose hookup.
For sure. Grab a Scott's one or two gallon manual sprayer from somewhere. Not home Depot brand, not the Chapin brand, not harbor freight brand. Those all broke for me in 6-12mos.
PSL thank you!! I was looking through the site and wasn’t sure.
Curious. Does the Hose Bib have a bypass? so I can leave it connected, and NOT fertilize all the time?
Doesn't look like it to me. Without that I wouldn't bother either. Use a 1-2gal manual sprayer.
You can leave it connected, it comes with two shut off valves to bypass the fertilization
I am so thankful for this!!! I'm so tired of seeing all the negativity. So happy I live in the country away from all the hate.
Can foliar feeding be used on most vegetables, or fruit trees, or berry bushes? For example, I would love to foliar feed tomato plants , but would the nutritional benefits of foliar feeding outweigh the danger of introducing mold to that type of plant?
I’ve foliar fed my tomatoes (in both my greenhouse and outside) for years with no PM results. You mitigate it by making sure you’ve got good airflow (fan in greenhouse) and by making sure the foliage is first colonised with probiotics.
You should make up a big barrel of Trifecta+ compost tea and sample that all over the garden....
Hi Luke, sadly EZ flow doesn't currently have distributors in the UK. Also no price is listed anywhere. If someone has bought it can you let me know the price range so I can see if this is within my budget and worth pursuing with EZ flow. TIA
What model do you have? I went to their website and I don't see the one you are using. Thanks
That model is a 1010-HB
Does this affect soil PH. I tested my soil and it was all between .7.3 and 7.5 is there any fertilizer or organic means that could drop my PH to the 6.5-7.0 range
Liquid sulfur, that's how you reduce soil ph when it is above the 7.0
Citric Acid or Acetic acid (vinegar), both break down to beneficial carbon
Get a ec meter if you want to feed the 🍃. Guessing just won’t cut it.
MIgardener done sold out
I can’t find the link to this product
Luke, can I foliar feed with Revive RX?
Sure can! it’s water soluble.
@@MIgardener Thanks Luke! Just waiting on USPS to bring me my Revive RX 😊
Can you help me?! I have cut worms of some sort. I'm new in the area, and every morning some of my plants are destroyed down during the night. I've collared them, I've gone out at night trying to see what manner of creature is nomming on them. they've all but obliterated my brassicas, mauled my peppers. I've also sprinkled egg shells. Please DM if you can, I'm so frustrated. I've got some seedlings aside to replace, but I'm afraid to put them out now.
I realise this is no on topic. But I do enjoy your videos, particularity your coffee plant, which brought me to you.
Very cool. Your neighbor is out on the porch. Is that awkward?
Silly question: how do you know when it runs out of fertilizer and is just spaying water? Never used something like this before...
There might be a better way, but I just look at the clear line that comes off the hose bib. (One is black and one is clear). If the clear line is still pushing out the color of the fertilizer, I know it still has some. If it’s flowing clear, it’s just water. Like I said, there may be a better way, I have just never found a reason to search for another method as that works for me 😉
C D I replied to your question but put it in the regular comment section by mistake🤦♀️. Oops! The readers digest version is...there is a clear line and a black line that attaches from the injector to the hose bib on your house. When the clear line runs clear, I know it’s out of fertilizer. As I said below, there may be a better way, but that works well for me, so I have never gone searching for other ways. Good luck! 😀
Use a hi-liter to give the spray a tint that you can see on the foliage. It works well, I have done it many times when I spray using other equipment. Happy gardening!
Wish had mentioned the frequency of foliar feeding.
Browser sites say every 3 days but i dont want to risk it
Can I grow several watermelon sprouts in one container or pot ? Please tell me
Ten gallon maybe! One watermelon vine covers a large area. You don't need more than one. The vines will be stunted if they have to compete of the nutrients, happy gardening.
I thought the treatment for peach leaf curl is a copper fungicide, do you choose not to use it because it could harm the micro organisms in the soil?
I don't use it after leaves break because it can harm beneficials.
I posted earlier about a probiotic treatment I’ve used successfully. Taphrina deformans lives in the bark of the tree, not just the leaves, so it’s important to soak the entire tree and not just the leaves. 👍🏼
I'm really interested because I work in a garden center. I want to give the best, most informed, advice. I want all of my customers to be successful.
G DavisChick, right. So what do you know about probiotic gardening? I can write a whole quasi layman’s bible on it so I don’t want to spend time on stuff you already know? I’m in England. If you’re in the US we can chat for free if you have an iPhone, or we could use WhatsApp 😊
I live in the US, actually about an hour and a half from MIGardener, in Michigan. I know nothing about probiotic gardening. And I have an android. I just started at the garden center and I have a LOT of learning to do.
You’re like the Bo Burnham of gardening.
Are you on municipal water?
I use down to earth fertilizer to stay organic. I also use bu's blend compost from cali for my compost tea
But what if I'm growing small at home? I can't grow big or go home, because I'm already home.
That looks like the one Hoss Tools uses
How does this product work? How does it mix the fertilizer with the water? How does it know how much fertilizer to mix with the water? How do you know when to replenish the fertilizer? These are the questions that have kept me from using systems like this. Can you help me understand?
You put any liquid fertilizer in the tank and the pressure valves regulate the concentration of the fertilizer in the water solution. You replenish it when the fertilizer runs out, duh. Did you even watch the video carefully?
Is there a link?
in the description box
Also, I don’t see that you can adjust the dilution rate with this thing. I’d buy it in a heartbeat if it had that capability, and if it fit my hosepipe filter 🤔
You can adjust it on the top. It’s amazing.
MIgardener that’s fab! If only someone sold it in England 🙄
Nice item, but it is so expensive. I will stick with my pump sprayer. They are $14 at Lowes
Do the pump sprayers come with a ladder so you can shoot spray up in a big tree?
Help! All my patio plants are getting brown on the ends of their leaves! I use super thrive occasionally. Oregano, palm tree, garlic chives sunchoke. More. Any thoughts?
Diana Spy I use Trifecta + (Granular) Revive Rx which is liquid. Both from MIgardener. They are the best! I might add fish emulation that I have on hand for a little added boost since I only use Trifecta + once in the hole when first planting. Everything is looking really good at the moment however!!
Also sounds like you might need to water more often unless it’s been too much water. You’ll have to look at that as well. God Bless.. praying for a healthy garden!! 😊
Unfortunately I have never gotten consistent ppm using a ppm meter from ez-flo . I shoot for 200ppm, mix it based on the instructions and way overshoot and then crash quickly down
Have you looked at the liquid dip tube option on their website?
@@jgilmore51 I did try but made no change, still dumps all of the liquid fertilizer at first and then crashes immediately down, never consistent
so this was basically just an advertisement. not a "very short video about foilar feeding." thanks.

You have a pretty big audience. I hope you can address the injustice amplified in America right now.
His silence is sending the wrong message for sure. How disappointing
Like my ex Flo, but need to find better fertilizers for my drip system
This looks like a great product. I use a spray bottle
I hope you appreciate me! I'll be watching a random gardening moment. People will ask questions and I casually and politely send them to you. I know it's not nice to do on other people's channels but they don't have the answer they don't have the content and you do even from way back! I think it's fair though I have been not nice to people for doing the same thing. Anyway I put your name out there quite a bit lately 10 or 11 times in the last week. So you might have some new folks LOL hi to you and yours. Hopefully I'll be off grid someplace with a big Garden next year cross your peas or beans or something for me. I'm not going to make it if I don't get out of here and I don't have the money so it's going to be some sort of D L I make with somebody I don't know how or how but it's going to happen! I'm wishing it extra hard LOL it has to work or I'm not going to make it seriously I'm living in a very awful dangerous place and it's not living I'm just existing waiting for life to happen and that's not right so I need to find my forever home at my age and it needs to fit my needs so lots of property and good water all year round. Composting toilet so it can be a pretty simple building but I need locking storage Etc. Jeez I just wrote this to tell you that I've been recommending you. Take care
Where are your rain barrels the tap water is pretty harsh
I feel like I just got tricked into watching a 10 min commercial.
Welcome to MIGardener!
He is doing his best, I think, to make a living at something that is hard to make a living at; I found it useful because I have never been sure foliar feeding is effective. It was a good affirmation.
@@jejardin oh for sure it was useful info.
Good tools make gardening SO much easier!!
For sure but it is a nice product. Literally watching this after I got done trying to foliar feed and it was already up to 80 degrees at 8am
Fertilizing with tap water??
* filtered tap water??
the site is not friendly what is the price
Distributor's, one is Hoss Tools, just looked it up. $ 89.99 for mixer, $ 9.99 for backflow preventer.
Get some seaweed and kelp. You’ll be amazed
Where is the link!
in the description box :)
My daughter helped me FINALLY find where that is. 😁. Thanks!
If I used that for my compost tea, I would have to either pre-filter the city water, or get a pump for my rain barrels. Never use chlorinated water for compost tea.
Exactly! I have a filter for my hose that’s cylindrical, but here in England, the fittings for hoses aren’t screw on but lock in.
I use humic acid to neutralize the chlorine. Just takes a drop or two. When all your water is turning color, you are good to go. I personally would like to know the filter size on this....the point of compost tea is to cover the leaves with beneficial and the glues they make, filter size is key. I'd take the filter off personally
Sarah Kimm, interesting. I tend to add humic acid to my compost teas whilst brewing. I use ascorbic acid (vit C) to dechlorinate my tap water for making kombucha.
@@monicasmith7772 I learned this trick from taking Elaine Inghams course. Just takes a couple drops in a 5 gallon bucket. Then add compost and foods (including your normal dose of humic acid)
Sarah Kimm, I’m assuming you’re in the US…I can’t seem to find any liquid humic acid for sale here…can you tell me what the concentration of the humic acid you use? What I’ve bought ages ago to put in my compost and nutrient teas is in a very fine powder form.
too bad you can't buy from them directly. left a like

another "Really quick episode" right after the last one I watched. Lol :). I'll bet you can't do it!
