    I got the 1.0 D2 back in 2000 but swapped the motherboard for a 2.0 and kept it that way till today!

    I loved it! i have the 15th anniversary edition and the silicone buttons got a little dusty lately and this helped a great deal before opening it.

    My guess is that the screen paper is polarizing film. It makes the stuff on screen actually visible so if you were able to test the device without it and it turned on but you couldn’t see anything then that’s probably what it is. While doing that if you don’t see anything you could hold the film up to the screen to see if you can see anything then. I’m pretty sure it only works in certain directions so try turning it if you do that second part. I’m no expert though so definitely look into it yourself as well. Good luck!

      I had seen videos of people dealing with polarized film in Game Boys, but they looked a little different and I hadn't even considered that this might be polarized film for some reason. I really appreciate the comment and will definitely give it a try!
      I'll probably edit the answer in the future with the progress.

      @@notsorustyrepairs287 Pretty sure the "screen paper" is just a background for the pixels. The polarizer should be attached to the screen itself.

      Pretty sure the film is on the screen. Any idea what the background paper is? Not sure if there’s something wrong with mine but can’t seem to get enough pressure on the screen for the full image to show

    Any idea what the large circle thing that looks like a flat battery is mine is horrible corroded is it a speaker maybe ?

    • @lawhammergaming
      @lawhammergaming 8 месяцев назад

      That is indeed the speaker, if it has wires going to it, if it's corroded you may need to get someone who knows electronics and soldering to get it repaired.

    Great video! Wish you could take a look at mine lol. My one seems to work for a short while then dies and starts beeping like crazy. Tried changing to fresh batteries but still the same problem. 😭

      I'm glad you liked it and thx for the comment! And to be honest, I'm not that sure I'd be able to fix yours XD
      I'm completely new to this kind of stuff, and in most cases, I'm not able to find where the issue is to begin with (I'm still learning the very basics). I'm just not scared (in some cases maybe I should) to open my devices and see if I can do some good to them. In your case, If it works even if it's just a second, it sounds promising to me. Try to open it and look for any damaged component (not just visually but testing it), and with a bit of luck, it's something you can replace.

    Any idea the type of screws are used for the computer board? Dropped mine then only have the screen is showing. So don’t know if I lost one trying to fix fit or if that’s the reason why not enough
    pressure is on the screen

    The LCD on my Digivice is only visible from a lower angle. Head on it's really dim and when viewed from above it's invisible. What would cause this?

    • @drauc

      Poor contacts with the screen's connection or low batteries would be my guess, hope you found a fix by now though :)
