I Restored This $5 Ebay Junk Nintendo Wii - Console Restoration & Repair
The common defect in this console is that it does show a black screen, and this common defect is always from a bad wi-fi or Bluetooth adapter.
Today we have this Nintendo Wii game console that's having video issues when you try to turn it, it's just showing a black screen so let's go over to see how we can be able to repair this issue
how to repair:
A lot of these Wii bad or dead PCBs are really due to uh a bad wi-fi or Bluetooth adapter and I'm
going to show you what I mean here.
Carefully pull the faceplate away from the front of the Wii.
Use a pair of tweezers to disconnect the LED cable's plastic connector
from the motherboard.
Remove the faceplate.
Lift the outer case straight up off the body of the Wii.
Remove the small Phillips screw securing the battery door to the bottom panel.
This screw is captive to the battery door.
Pull the battery door out of the Wii.
This is a good time to change the CR2032 battery if it hasn't been changed recently.
Lift the DVD drive shield upward and remove it from the Wii.
Remove the four 9 mm #1 Phillips screws securing the DVD drive to the bottom panel.
Lift the side of the DVD drive opposite the controller ports enough to access the cables on its bottom face.
Carefully pull the DVD drive power cable out from under the plastic shroud near the heat sink.
Pull the DVD drive power cable away from the socket on the DVD drive.
Use your fingernail to flip up the retaining flap on the DVD drive ribbon cable socket.
Be sure you are prying up on the retaining flap, not the socket itself.
Pull the DVD drive ribbon cable out of its socket.
Remove the DVD drive from the Wii.
Use the flat end of a spudger or your fingertips to lift up the end of the Bluetooth board nearest the center of the motherboard.
Carefully peel the front edge of the Bluetooth board off the EMI foam attached to the motherboard.
Remove the Bluetooth board.
How to Restore a Yellow Nintendo Wii the Easy Way
This video will show you how to make your yellowed Nintendo Wii look almost new again.
Coat the plastic in hydrogen peroxide to fix discoloration. Hydrogen peroxide works well on plastics that have turned entirely yellow instead of in just one spot. Fill a plastic bag with enough hydrogen peroxide to cover the plastic. Stick the plastic in the bag of hydrogen peroxide and lay it out in direct sunlight. Wait 3-4 hours before rinsing it off with clean water.[5]
You can purchase hydrogen peroxide at a drugstore or big box store.
If you’re treating some sort of plastic mechanism, make sure you remove all the parts that aren’t plastic before putting them into the hydrogen peroxide.
You can also use an old toothbrush to scrub the hydrogen peroxide onto the plastic if desired

i picked up a white wii for $10 after our main one got bricked:(, it looked similar to that, as it was literally in a pile of dirt. used all accessories that we used with other wii, and gave it a good clean. and it’s mint, modded it and no bad blocks, everything works as intended!
seller said untested, and i knew wii internals are built like tanks

Wow, I had thought there was a bigger problem on my hands when a different bt module didn't do the trick. The electronic contact cleaner just on the area of the mobo module interface and the chip itself was all I needed.
Now I need to find out what happened during reassembly. The loading mechanism of the optical drive makes a grinding sound when it didn't before disassembly.
Needs grease most likely.
@@hudsonball4702 - I saw a crack in the small plastic "gear" type part of the load / eject mechanism. Ended up replacing optical drive and it's all good.

Man wii sports looks so ancient now & I remember when it was brand new.
As long as the LSI's are in good condition and the software is not corrupted, you can usually fix these. When the software/firmware has issues, it is junk...

You can tell the replacement plastic pieces were a bit yellowed and probably could have been retro brighted as well. They were new pieces but obviously had sat somewhere for a while.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this but I probably imagine that it come from a broken wii that some sort if yellowing. If it was me I would got the replacement parts whitened aswell and aswell got a replacement front face cover aswell. Personally I wouldn't of superglued the old face cover back together

Quick question, I noticed the replacement pieces do not quite color match how good you were able to make the rest of the console. Would bleaching the new pieces do any good to make them whiter or is that possible? Again, love every video, don’t stop!

메인보드와 파워만 정상이여도 수리 가능합니다. 어처피 dvd드라이브는 교체를 해야할것 같습니다. 그래픽 카드 쪽에 냉납을 수정한 뒤에 전원을 부팅해 보면 다음은 어디가 고장이 났는지를 알수 있습니다.
