Yup, its collector items, My old Digivice from Digimon 2 blue color first generation mint condition went from $30 when I buy, to Thousands of dollars today. Crazy how a toy turn to treasure.
@@AizensPlan hahaha I see, if scientist are right we still have a few more billion of years before it starts to turn off and take the whole planetary system with it. Although I don't remember which was gonna happen first, the sun running out or that black hole of Andromeda Galaxy colliding with our system and taking it all inside it. Oh well. At least we have Digimon to play with until then.
The rattling is for nostalgia's sake. See, the original one used what is known as a pendulum to count steps. Every time that clacker hit a surface, it would count up a number. You could take it out if you don't like the noise. Another tidbit is that the antenna had a function. It couldick up some electronic thing that it would use for gameplay purposes. The D3, or the 02 digivice, uses it so you could find digimentals, eggs that allow your digimon to armor digivolve. Or the D2, the device you have, could use that on the 15th anniversary device to find other partners in need of help, or it just throws you a battle.
I had the original digivice, bought it for like $4 and threw it in the bin a couple years later on a cleaning day. Years later nostalgia kicked in and wish I never did that...
I pre ordered my Taichi DX versoin back in early August it just shipped a few days ago so in another two weeks or so i should have it and can't wait even more now after watching this.
I still have my D3 device, clear blue. I had the black/grey Ken one, and the red one. Used to have 2 of the original d1 devices, battled alot with them. Then Scannerz came out, kinda neat. The other flip open digitize was nest too, miss those others. The d3 version was really cool, you had to unlock all of the 3rd gen destineds mons, then you could get gen 1s like agumon and such. To get wormmon you had to complete the other members of the starter party once you found them similarly. Idk if I've cleared every level it offers.
@Wayneisboss any amount of content is more than I do. I'm really happy I was on a weird nostalgia kick a few months ago looking up the old digimon games and found your reviews. I'm happy to see anyone making indepth reviews of obscure media.
I ordered this bad boy just a couple days ago, still some available on ZeninTCG. With my D-Arc and D2 15th coming in, my collection from Adventure through Xros Wars will be complete!
My Taichi and Yamato devices arrived yesterday from the 2nd pre-order release. If you are getting 2, Zenin has a bundle link so they were 119 each. Love it so far!
I was so excited to get the orange one but already sold out. I had that version as a kid and it was packed away for years. I found it a few years ago and now it’s missing again. I can’t help but wonder if someone took it to sell it
I just wish they made a personal vpet with this design instead of one where youre essentially playing as another human character from the anime, *I* want to be the digidestined
I just got mine today and your video helped me a lot to know what was the computer or some items for. I got a sleeping bag but I can't seem to use it yet on my camping digimon. Anyway I am enjoying it some much on my first day and wearing my crest 🤩 I got the Yamato Ishida version but the orange one looks fire too! Ah you also helped me with the tip about turning off the music lol everyone in my house was getting annoyed for sure lol
This seems like a step in the right direction for V-Pets interactivity. The one thing that has always kind of disappointed me, was how simple a lot of them are. Feeding them at specific times and do the same simple minigames over and over isn't that engaging to me and can't keep my attention for long. If this leads to more varied gameplay, I am all for it.
If it works like the Color Pendulums, the steps are counted by an accelerometer and not a physical pedometer any more. Interestingly enough, they added a ballbearing just for tactile feedback, and that's where the sound comes from. The presentation of the device is undeniably amazing. They did a rather phenomenal job with combining a more traditional pedometer adventure game Digivice with the bells and whistles of an SCSA Digivice. However, I really wish they put in just a little bit more effort into the gameplay. The US/Western Digivice toys always had really good gameplay, and it's a shame that the developers didn't borrow more from them. As-is, there really is little to no strategy involved, and it's just mindless grinding. Even with previous Digivice toys, we had a choice of multiple actions to take each turn such as swapping between partners or digivolving one level. The only real gameplay that's on offer takes the form of the three mini-games that are pretty much always winnable if you aren't distracted. Also wish they tied unlocking digivolutions to the story. There really is no reason to swap partners after unlocking all the digivolutions of one partner. Having digivolutions tied to story progression would have made the experience even more accurate and added even more motivation to progress through the story. While cute, the event scenes and unlockables are really just filler with no impact on the gameplay whatsoever... There are also the little things that make no sense like not allowing you to swap partners when you see that your currently selected digimon isn't powerful enough or when you have the green phone item that make the experience a little bit more tedious than necessary. Theres definitely room for improvement, but I'm not sure if they'll bother when it comes to future adaptations and releases like with the inevitable D-3.
I've been carrying a digimon vpet with me for 4 years now, i go from a pendulum to an X to a DM20 to a color doesn't matter it's basically what i feel like running at any given time, to me Digimon is all about the vpets, i never cared for these anime digivices or anything else Digimon related, but i might hunt one of these down, they look awesome for what they are.
Just got home from a 12 hour shift and watched the video. I was able to pre order an orange one becore they were out of stock! I'm glad I watched the video I wouldn't have seen these before they sold out otherwise.
I'm from the UK and they didn't deliver here so i had to go through a 3rd party seller on ebay who shipped it to me from Japan. Was a bit more expensive but this was something i've always wanted as a kid lmao
This seems a lot like the old Digivice toy with a modernized "story" for it, including the shaking sound. The original ones just had a simplified thing of move to the next region after you beat the boss in an area, the first several ones were in a set order as you unlock higher levels of digivolution and friend collections, though only the Digidestined ones. I remember that some friends at the time were irritated because while I had the second version of them in the US that added Gatomon and a few other things from late on, and while it worked with the first and later versions, some of the third version ones didn't work with it. I also had one of the 02 and D-Terminal (got that one later on when it was on clearance).
@bornalive91 Absolutely. I regret to say it will still take time to get it done but I'm aiming for by the end of the year And we're not stopping at Digimom World 3 either
