odd tinkering: “I will clean the board with isopropyl alcohol before fixing the issue” me, nodding along like i have any idea what he’s doing: “of course”
Isopropyl alcohol is a cleaning agent like water. However, unlike water, the negative dipole is concentrated on a sterically hindered oxygen by two methyl groups and a proton. With water, the oxygen has the second energy level valence electrons exposed with a strong negative dipole. The stronger dipole makes water more likely to form highly charged ions. Therefore, when isopropyl alcohol contacts a semi-conductor (such as silicon dioxide) there is not enough of a charge to cause a short circuit. However, with water there is. Basically, isopropyl alcohol is a cleaning agent that won't destroy computer boards. It's like cleaning a table with water.

I swear it's like he just did surgery on a gameboy
Just like the grape
hahaa thats jokes man
Essentially he did
Inaccurate claim. How dare you compare this to surgery...it's art
That's called playing with expectations
He Resurrected it

I'm experienced enough with electronics to fix the board, but I would've never figured out that replacing the polarizer was possible or removing the yellowed case was possible!!!! Your work is inspiring!!!
Очень люблю смотреть ваши ролики! Даже не знаю, как это описать, но это истинное АСМР и лучше. Видишь как старые, никому не нужные вещи дышат новыми лёгкими, и бьются с очищенным сердцем.
Just knowing that this was once a little child’s everything
4 Heroes and Sidekick and he fixed it :D
Yeah it sure looks like the kid did everything with it.Good thing we got guys like this around to fix pieces of gamer history
and that little kid must have played it after some baseball practice and put it directly to his backpocket
It still is, mine is working perfectly after years, if you know how to take care of stuff it will last you a lifetime...

My favorite part of the whole video
I found the gasp very touching, actually. Like the sound we make in awe when accomplish an almost impossible mission.
@ you hear his voice in whisper
That polarizer thing and not seeing without it had me astonished. I never watch this type of content, dunno why youtube recommended you but I am very much enjoying watching. Thank you for the great content and new sub 👍

Asmr H.w Pal, don’t bring politics onto the table, I’m sick of hearing and reading about that, I wanna watch shit without thinking ‘bout no sides.

Asmr H.w Nah man, Its just that hearing people getting mad at fictional characters, at other people’s opinions and literally boycotting shit I like, just because two loons from the right and left got mad.

You used a wire to connect two parts of a board and it WORKED! I wouldn't have the slightest idea how to troubleshoot and find that exact issue. You're a wizard.

You say it's a religious experience. That's exactly right on. If you grew up with the old school gameboys, you've definitely experienced a somewhat chilled childhood. The beginning stages of what technology game consoles we have today.

This is absolutely wonderful to watch! As someone getting into electronic repairs myself, I really enjoyed watching how to repair this. I grew up on the Gameboy Color and the Gameboy Advance, so it makes me really happy to see this console come back to life! I do regret missing out on the Gameboy blueprint shirt though... My whole life: "If you spill liquid on it, it's ruined forever!"
This whole channel: *dumping copious amounts of isopropyl alcohol on everything to clean and fix things*
is there any video he spills it onto electronic mechanisms?
@@furkanyavuz5793 He does in this video when is brushing the board. Isopropyl alcohol is completely safe to use on electronics, so long as you let it dry before turning it on.
Jaxon Russell that’s kind of what i meant, i mean who would spill liquid on their device when it’s turned off
Technically, you can wash your electronics in water, however, everything MUST be off and completely drained of power. Then it MUST be 100% dry before powered back on.
@@ShineHatfield Distilled water with non water soluble minerals on the surface of whatever you're cleaning. Otherwise on drying crystals can form which can conduct electricity, which will short circuit whatever you just cleaned.
