I have one of those magazines. My favorite ad is for a 'feminine douche' by LYSOL. The selling point is how it's husband approved 🤦‍♀️

Good morning! Lovely to start the day with your bubbly self. I love how excited you get over your finds. I am the same. Nothing gets me happier than finding "the thing" at a thrift store, antique store, garage sale or where ever. Friends and family sometimes give me the raised eyebrows look but I don't care!

First off, your hair color and this style are fabulous! Did you ever do a tutorial on it? Then, your dress/top! LOVE!
I work at a senior center, and our folks, along with community members, will donate all manner of stuff that we put on a "free table". I can't even list all the incredible vintage items I've scored! A couple of the most recent were an early 60s Good Housekeeping magazine and a stack of 11 movie magazines from the 50s! I was in shock that someone brought them in and that I was able to snag them! *swoon*

Yes, you can put plants in there. I would do ‘pathos’ . It lets you know when it needs water and it’s too dry. They come with in different leaves. So you’d be able to add in an additional color.

Your haul was great and I really think those darling planters would look fab with fake flowers in them, small little bouquets! Drainage if you put real plants would be small stones then your soil. Succulents would look cute!

And yes, I believe there is a PH d in fabrics. I had a friend in Greece who was pursuing their doctorate in textiles...it's was a much more complex degree than that. I remember she would test strength, flammability, structure and such and need out about it a lot. Very awsm 🤓

So yeah you can still use those as planters esp good for succulents. What I do with my plants ( also new to plants in the home) is use a 2part system with one plasticy container with drainage even like a washed yogurt cup, a clear plastic cups from a drive thru order or such and then the outer decorative container which would Not Have drainage so I can have it on my window sill or table, etc. It's funny cuz I'm eyeing everything all the time like...could this be a planted, could that be a planted....LOL

You could put plastic plants in the pink bookends. Natural plants need drainage holes. The bookends would be damaged if you tried to drill a hole into them.

Hi Jennifer, I have a suggestion for your gingham fabric. You previously made a play suit with a skirt. Use all that fabric fir another one. So if you only have enough of the yellow for the sleeves that I'd what you use it for, etc. Would be cute & retro.

I have panther lamps with planter spots in them and I just put fake succulents in them and they look great! Definitely recommend that for your cute fan planters:) otherwise you’re right-no drainage will make for unhappy plants. You could put pothos clippings or bamboo in them though and just fill with water-they can live in water indefinitely and you just need to top up the water. Amazing haul and made me so happy to see your video pop up today!! ❤

People usually use those pink planters for fake or dried flowers. Or you can use them as a vase for cut flowers. But you can absolutely use them as planters too as long as you use an inner grow pot with drainage holes for the plant

That first fabric seems 60s to me. I’m currently watching the New Scooby-Doo Movies (probably not the best for historical exploration) and the colours are bright enough.
