I have one of those magazines. My favorite ad is for a 'feminine douche' by LYSOL. The selling point is how it's husband approved 🤦♀️
Lol 🙄😒😆
Oh blimey....
Birdy
Ooh those lamps!! I'm the same, I have so many lamps in my garage that I switch out!!
Old ads are cringey comedy!!
Good morning! Lovely to start the day with your bubbly self. I love how excited you get over your finds. I am the same. Nothing gets me happier than finding "the thing" at a thrift store, antique store, garage sale or where ever. Friends and family sometimes give me the raised eyebrows look but I don't care!
Also… that jacket with the red dress moment! You’re such a stunner!
Your dress is gorgeous!
You look fabulous Jennifer. Haven't seen your videos for a while. I enjoyed this one.
I enjoy seeing what you have thrifted, it's always a fabulous time when I go! 😄 Can't wait to see what you make with your fabric! I loved the 1940's pink rayon!! Thanks for sharing your treasures!
You're the best! I don't collect fabric, but yarn and art materials.
First off, your hair color and this style are fabulous! Did you ever do a tutorial on it? Then, your dress/top! LOVE!
I work at a senior center, and our folks, along with community members, will donate all manner of stuff that we put on a "free table". I can't even list all the incredible vintage items I've scored! A couple of the most recent were an early 60s Good Housekeeping magazine and a stack of 11 movie magazines from the 50s! I was in shock that someone brought them in and that I was able to snag them! *swoon*
Yes, you can put plants in there. I would do ‘pathos’ . It lets you know when it needs water and it’s too dry. They come with in different leaves. So you’d be able to add in an additional color.
Oh my gosh! I love all of it! I can't wait to see your new creations! Love those lamps. So amazing. You are looking Beautiful as always. Thank you for sharing your great finds.
I am OBSESSED with those lamps. Also this year I’ve resolved to use all my fabrics I am afraid of
Long videos are the best
What a great way to start my day , I smiled and started watching you show your treasures! I am so frigging glad your back! You look Stunning! Your haul was great and I really think those darling planters would look fab with fake flowers in them, small little bouquets! Drainage if you put real plants would be small stones then your soil. Succulents would look cute!
Fantastic haul!!! Can't wait to see what you create with that gorgeous fabric.
Wow! All that bits of fabric. Have you ever thought of making easy little girl dresses and shorts and tops.
A wonderful haul and so good to see you just being you.
I like the curtain for a cuban shirt and pencil skirt with a ruffle. Prada does 60s latin America.
You can most definitely put plants in there with just water. I have plants and they are all in just water. You can get some snake plants, succulents or devils ivy.
Would love a house tour
I love the dress you are wearing. The lettuce apron the gingham fabrics would be-perfect that pattern .
Thanks...it is a fun dress. ❤️
Love, love, love you hair and makeup, ❤❤
I would use the pink fans for my pen paint brushes colored pencil holder!
That would be a good idea. ❤️
Hi Jennifer. Hope you are doing well. Take care!
Unless you want to drill drain holes go with faux plants , the lamps are everything 😮the magazine is so clever all around you found great stuff that cold rayon! And all the moo moo I love your fabric
I think you're right...faux is the way to go :D
Op shopping in Oz is my " happy place"
Love that ❤️
💖💖💖 Yaaay, loving your content just as much as I ever did! Probably even more! Longtime fan here. Let’s give a shoutout to those ballerina lamps! 🎉
the 40s fabric(thats purple/lilac) is awesome! i had the same reaction as you when you showed it! excellent find!!
And yes, I believe there is a PH d in fabrics. I had a friend in Greece who was pursuing their doctorate in textiles...it's was a much more complex degree than that. I remember she would test strength, flammability, structure and such and need out about it a lot. Very awsm 🤓
Glad you're back! Miss you're energy ✨️
Air Plants - easy to care for - Mist them now and then
Such fun stuff! Thanks for sharing.
You have found your niche. The curtains would make a great apron...you already have the ruffly hem. A soak in OxyClean will get rid of some/most of the stains. I want to see you sew, again!
I love top
So yeah you can still use those as planters esp good for succulents. What I do with my plants ( also new to plants in the home) is use a 2part system with one plasticy container with drainage even like a washed yogurt cup, a clear plastic cups from a drive thru order or such and then the outer decorative container which would Not Have drainage so I can have it on my window sill or table, etc. It's funny cuz I'm eyeing everything all the time like...could this be a planted, could that be a planted....LOL
Wow! So lovely to see you and this video! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that 40s rayon print and can't wait to see what you do with it! ::siiiiigh:: GORGEOUS, just like you.
You could put plastic plants in the pink bookends. Natural plants need drainage holes. The bookends would be damaged if you tried to drill a hole into them.
Love your 'finds', especially the pink lamps 💖 Got to find out more about Retro Clean as I haven't heard of it before.
What a fun video! You're so adorable and funny too! ❤️
I love haul videos!!!
Also, I was thinking since I’m not a live plant girl either, I’d use a foam block and shape the top to match the fans. Then add fake flowers.
I love the fabrics!!!
Also, the magazine is cool.
Buttons are fun. I have a lot too.
The cape idea!!!! I love it!!!
Apron patterns are a trap. All the cool ones, must be made.
I’m looking forward to next time!!! See you then!!!
I love watching them and making them. lol That foam block idea is great! ❤️❤️❤️
Love everything! Love your dress too!
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
So cute!
Love your dress ❤
I love your dress and hairstyle!
AH!! I loved thrifting with you too! And thank you as always for your friendship and support. ❤️
Great finds! Love your dress and hair!
Thank you. ❤️❤️❤️
Ooooo, I hope to see some of these fabrics in person at Viva! Are you going!?! I perform Saturday evening at 5:30 PM in the Bienville Room! Hope to see you there!
Hi Jennifer, I have a suggestion for your gingham fabric. You previously made a play suit with a skirt. Use all that fabric fir another one. So if you only have enough of the yellow for the sleeves that I'd what you use it for, etc. Would be cute & retro.
You have some really good ideas!!!!! Thank you ❤️
Omg your hair!! ❤ it I have missed your videos ❤
Great haul! The little bolero jacket is so cute. Looking forward to seeing what you will be making with all those fabrics and patterns. Good to have you back! :)
I would like to request a lettuce skirt. OR WHAT IF WE WERE MATCHING VEGGIES??
I can’t wait to see you work with all of your finds. Also, “lettuce” make a dress??
I have panther lamps with planter spots in them and I just put fake succulents in them and they look great! Definitely recommend that for your cute fan planters:) otherwise you’re right-no drainage will make for unhappy plants. You could put pothos clippings or bamboo in them though and just fill with water-they can live in water indefinitely and you just need to top up the water. Amazing haul and made me so happy to see your video pop up today!! ❤
Fake succulents would be so cute though I do like the bamboo idea! ❤️
Bamboo would be gorgeous in those fans!
fantastic haul, great to see you!
So excited to be back ❤️
The first two are vases Jen xx
❤️❤️❤️
😂😂😂 oh we don’t talk about the pattern section
Thinking about you, so much to deal with. No Viva this year?
Birdy
Oh mylanta, you remind me of myself with your excitement over a good Estate haul. I truly enjoy your videos! Thank you for all the time and effort you put in to make them.
People usually use those pink planters for fake or dried flowers. Or you can use them as a vase for cut flowers. But you can absolutely use them as planters too as long as you use an inner grow pot with drainage holes for the plant
Amazing haul!! Wow so much stuff!
You could put fake flowers in the bookends!
That first fabric seems 60s to me. I’m currently watching the New Scooby-Doo Movies (probably not the best for historical exploration) and the colours are bright enough.
Also, is that a treadle sewing machine your record player is resting on?
Could you use a sheer fabric to do flowy sleeves with that firework looking patterned fabric?
Oh my lawd!! Those pink lamps! 🙀😍😍😍. And I adore reading and studying old magazines. It’s so fascinating. A window to the past.
Also, the jacket you made is adorable!!!
You looked absolutely fabulous in this video!! Love all the wonder finds! Those lamps are heavenly! Just so happy to have you back making videos, blessings to you sweet lady!
So happy to see you back! I love seeing the vintage fabrics and have recently become obsessed with MCM decor. I love the haul videos as well! Thanks for sharing 🥰
Me too, girl. Thrifting/antiquing/treasure hunting is my zen, joyous place as well ❤️ What a thrill it is to emerge victorious from a hunt with beautiful finds.
Love this haul!! Thank you for sharing ☺️
Yay...I'm so glad you enjoyed it! ❤️
I love the mail order patterns. I also really love making aprons. Right now I’m working on making aprons from my five 1940s - 1950s mail order patterns with reproduction feed sack fabric and vintage inspired fabric. Looking forward to seeing what you make.
Antiquing with friends is the best!! I actually just got back from a weekend antiquing and thriftpicking myself and this haul was so much fun! (ps, I absolutely love this look on you! The hair! Gorgeous colour)
That sounds like an amazing weekend! ❤️❤️❤️
Lovely to watch you again after such along time, Jen. You can put beautiful dry flowers in your pink bookends.
It's good to be back ❤️❤️❤️
Wow. Amazing finds, especially the fabric!
My first thought was "omg lettuce apron!" 😆 I'm glad I wasn't the only one to get that vibe, but you took it next level thinking about the skirt, you're a genius Jen! I think the world needs to witness an amazing lettuce skirt. 💚
So excited about the fabric. gah ha ha...you're right, I'm gonna need to make that happen!
I love it when you show us your vintage hauls! I have been going through a yellow gingham phase - Perfect for the summer 😊.
Looking forward to seeing your sewing projects, using the materials and patterns.
I love old magazines as well. I have been collecting Stitchcraft - full of patterns (mostly knitting), and some recipes.
It is such a great summer fabric!
Are you sure the bookends are planters? What about using for stationary/pens?
Has it really been a year?! Ahhh, miss your videos
Hi Jennifer, thank you for your video, I was wondering if your friend Laci Fay is OK, there is messages on her RUclips comments that she died of COVID 😭
Hey miss you making new videos.
How about some great fake ferns? I got a great small one for a parrot wall vase at.. dollar tree...shameful face. Also did you make your dress? If not, can I get details?
Do they still sell ' air plants' ? (for those little pink vases).
Yes! This is a great idea. You can get some pretty impressive ones. They would look great in those vases
Think of the pink bookends as vases not planters.
Good way to think of it! ❤️
You found some really great items :) I personally loved the pink planters
Aw thanks! ❤️ Laci is doing great and yes we're still good friends. She's taking a bit of a break from RUclips. She mostly posts in her Insta stories now.
@@JenniferElise Thank you :) I hadn't seen anything on Insta in a long time or here, and that is why I was concerned. I appreciate your response ;)
✨🧵🙋♀️
Has Jennifer left RUclips? She hasn't posted in almost a year. Missing her.
