I’ve really been enjoying your journey through Mexico, you’ve really done a great job of showing us a variety of different things. As someone who’s only been to the super touristy sites in Mexico I have really enjoyed you taking us to the little towns and side streets off the beaten path.
You mentioned that the street food fair was on Friday. It was probably in celebration of Good Friday. I noticed all the people in the church that you passed by. Good Friday kicks off the religious festivities for Easter. Religious festivals in Mexico are huge, as I'm sure you witnessed when Sunday rolled around--if you were still in the city at that time.
I had the opportunity to visit Guanajuato and tbh its amazinq place in whatever hour of the day. I feeled so well being there, i fell in luv of its arquitecture, small roads, tunnels, hills, music and night party. Beautiful place 😍. Greetinq from Ny.
Guanajuato is one of my favorite cities in Mexico. Isn't it wonderful how you can get lost in all the winding paths? The food looked wonderful. I could almost smell the food from here.
Very Informative.. and the Trip up to the statue was well worth the wait to see the view ! And The FOOD..Oh My..I bet it smelt Amazing ! GOD BLESS Thank You For Letting me travel with You ! :-)
My dad was born in Leon. My wife and I will be visiting this year and see the church he was baptized in almost 101 years ago. ;) you always have the best 🎶
I'm really enjoying these "Guanajuato" videos. I've never been to Mexico, but I know some people from over there and they tell me how amazing that place is. They go visit all the time. I've seen pictures of it, but looking it from your perspective, back streets and all, makes it even more interesting. Not too mention that looking at all that food really makes me hungry!!! Can't wait to watch your tour of San Miguel de Allende.
Never heard of this city, but now I want to visit when Covid is not a thing any longer! I really really like that you were the only anglo American I saw. Looks like such a cool town!
Wow - we were there in March 2018 and stayed at the top of the funicular at the Balcon de Cielo hotel. The hotel included unlimited funicular rides ( and breakfast in a nice restaurant in town). We never once encountered a line up. Similarly, we had the mirador to ourselves (and went for a great walk on the upper bowl road above town). I hope things quiet down for you now that Easter holidays are over.
15 minutes is a much more manageable amount of time to watch one video, unless of course one is seeing a feature length film. I don't become backed up as easily, when the videos are shorter, of course.
I would be mobility obese living in Maxico! food looks divine! You should of dived in when you had the opportunity Gabes, there no better endorsement then popularity and the locals were lapping it up!"
Gabriel... Hello... Fantastic place... Interesting... View... Bella Mexico 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽... You have done a top excellent job... Compliment... Bravissimo... Gabriel... Viva... Gabriel 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Great video as always. I have fallen in love with this city just by watching your videos from there. You commented that a few days ago that you were disappointed with San Miguel . Did you go there and not post a video ?
Hi Gabriel! Loved the white VW Bug.. You didn't want to pet the doggy?? 😂😂😂😂😂 I don't understand how you find your way around the city.. You sure can walk... The food on the second day looked so good. I would eat the street food in a minute! Happy you got to see the statue up close! Take care and I bid you peace!🍃😄🍃
Basically I just walk, do my best to keep track of where I'm going and if I get lost, I find my way back one way or another. After three days there I had a pretty good handle on the city and could find my hotel easily.
I think all that people selling food down the street on that particular friday, seems like a Kermes, Kermes is like when all neighbors gather to sell food (diferent dishes) to help for a particular cause or just to help themselves and their family.
Volkswagens who's last produce in Mexico i think till the late 80s. btw. That car was first made in Naci Germany in 40s they stop production of that line in Germany in 60s
Love, love, love videos about foods of our world! Drink up, Kiddies and eat your fill! ;) Mexicans do love sugar and for stuff to be quite sugar-y! Me. not nearly as much.
You know, walking in and around all of these alleys, narrow streets and such would have me on highest alert for DOGS and others' angrier pets, must more so than the Fella you showed us, barking at you from a rooftop!
Hi Gabriel, Did I see a kid with a click clack toy? I haven't seen one of those in years. There's no doubt eating street is less expensive no overhead rent, light bill and paying employees to maintain and run a restaurant.
09:50 -- So many of the buildings and edifices look to be in such a state is DISREPAIR. 11:08 -- Yummmmmmmmiest food I have seen in quite some time. 11:50 -- Heavy costumes in such warm weather!
@@erichoe7802 believe or not, there are a lot of people from Asia here in México, not only visiting, they live here. A little bit of 40 million people per year visiting a "violent" country. That makes sense??? México is beautiful and is not only violence.
@@KRAPOTKIN791 yeah because a Mexican women came to Malaysia Taman Negara so start from there I always monitor Mexico, I really hope can visit Mexico some day
Strawberries with cream and strawberries with cheese cake ($1 each)...now both are to my liking...but you passed them by Gabe? If you were with a Filipina she might want her dessert first. 😂😂😂
Hey Gabriel, there's a very popular taco stand at the corner of Hidalgo and Insurgentes here in San Miguel that you might include in one of your videos. It's always crowded with locals and a few gringos, and starts serving after 8 PM usually. The tacos are cheap and very tasty. Here's an article about Andy and his tacos: eatingtheglobe.com/andys-pastor-taco-cart/, You can also read people's comments about this taco stand on tripadvisor. The Jardin, as all central plazas in Mexico, comes to life after 6 P.M. with music and people strolling about. In the afternoon, it's quiet around town with many of us enjoying a siesta. If you need to take a break from running around town making videos, spend a few hours at La Gruta just to the north of town. It's a really nice hot spa, cost 150 Pesos as of last year. You can catch a bus to Dolores Hidalgo on Calzada de la Luz and ask the driver to drop you off at the entrance to La Gruta (which is just off the main road), and you can catch a bus back into town from there.
Guanajuato City, the enchanting land of colorful streets and the occasional donkey traffic jam, is a place where even the buildings seem to have attended clown college. If you're not careful, you might accidentally stroll into a salsa dance-off between mariachi bands and street tacos. The city's underground road system is like a labyrinth designed by a mischievous mole with a sense of humor, so getting lost is practically a rite of passage. And let's not forget the legendary Callejoneadas, where enthusiastic musicians lead a cacophony of revelers through narrow alleys, turning the whole city into a spontaneous carnival. In Guanajuato, even the ghosts have a sense of humor - they probably spend their afterlife trading jokes in the eerie tunnels beneath the city. So, if you find yourself in Guanajuato, remember to bring your laughter, your dancing shoes, and maybe a map (though it's more of a souvenir, really). Nice video, Gabriel Traveler!
So, he saw a dog in a roof and move aside cause he thought the doggie was going to attack him?? That was hilarious! Come on!! The doggie lives there and I assure you he knows his ways in the roof, no matter how much he disliked Gabriel he was never going to jump over him from the roof! That's why the dog's owners put him there, to avoid attacks in the street. Another mexican thing: there are so many dogs who live or just hang out in the roofs and it's safe. My own dog lives inside the house but she loves to take sun baths in the roof, and no matter how much she dislikes the mail man and strangers in general she just barks at them from the roof. Dogs are not stupid, they're not going to jump to death.
The dog was extremely aggressive when I walked past it before and there was a car parked right below that it could have easily jumped onto. Better to be safe than going to the hospital to get rabies shots.

Excellent. It's been great to see more of the real Mexico.
@Gabriel Traveler. Great timing...I'm planning a trip there in the next month. This is a nice preview.
a city of 184,000 - and they're all outside doing stuff. In Canada everyone would be in their house.
Except in the spring everyone comes out for a week, then they go back to watching tv and playing video games.
Fue en semana santa, esta a reventar de turistas nacionales.
Monoculture vs Multiculture. No more social cohesion in Americanized cities. By design.
Most of the ppl at the streets are national tourist, and a few internationals.

Something tells me Gabe likes enchiladas. Cheers great content as always!
This place literally a perfect film set in every inches of it.
There is no other place in the world like Mexico. It's truly special.
It truly is. It's been set for many mexican movies, and international movies like INFINITE with Mark Wahlberg

Its good to see you posting food videos too.
Great video, love the documentation of all the back Alley's.
What a classic Mexican city.
Lots of street food options to enjoy with a Corona🙂
Quite some Spanish history in the buildings also.

You must try chicken mole,.ceviche, tacos al pastor and fillet of grouper
while you are in Mexico.
