You have no idea how happy I was to stumble on this video! I have been suffering from this same problem for several years now. Mostly only in one eye, too. It's so awful spending the time to apply makeup only to have to CONSTANTLY blot the corners with a tissue literally all day long at work. After a while it's just as you said...painful and raw. I have dry eyes as well, but just a bit different. My tears were actually running down my face. It got so bad that I actually had to carry tissue to dan the tears from my face. So, I went to the ophthalmologist who indicated I had dry eye syndrome. I corrected her with, "no, I have wet eyes. " She laughed and further explained about my eyes not producing enough tears. Seemed pretty crazy to me. She told me to get Refresh eye drops (OTC). It didn't take long at all before it cleared up. I still get the tears sometimes, and then I use the eye drops for a couple of days and it goes away. Who would have thought?! You always come up with the best topics... thank you!
I'm so glad you did this video. My left eye was tearing the whole time I watched it... like just the MENTION of tearing up makes it go to town. I'm so tired of getting stage-ready only to have my left eye turn into a smudgy mess before I go on.

OMG!!! I had no idea that this issue was so common. I wake in the morning and my left eye tears so terribly that I cannot even attempt eye makeup and I have tear lines in my Seint foundation. I’ve tried over the counter artificial tears and nothing has helped. It makes my eye area raw and even burn it’s so constant. Sometimes people ask me why I’m crying 😂 I just called my doctor before your video was even complete and left a message with a nurse to call me in Restasis or the new generic that was approved in Feb 2022 Cyclosporine Ophthalmic Eye drops. Michelle if these work I can’t even express in words how thankful I will be. I am 43 and have suffered with this issue for over 25 years! Certain foundations and face creams also irritate my issue and cause the tearing to become even more severe i.e. Wet N Wild tinted moisturizer, il makiage foundation…. The list goes on and on. Another reason why I stick with Seint because it’s not an irritant to my already inflamed eyes. THANK YOU!!! Refresh also makes an over the counter one that works almost as well with the same applicators help save. It runs around $15 a box that easily last me a few months. They also make gel which I find is great for nighttime use and drops for contact wearers. I sometimes have to use it twice a day during allergy seasons. But it’s worth the price. I swear I’m not promoting the brand. I have suffered with the same issue for about 10 years. If I put in the drops an hour before my makeup application I have had great results! I feel your pain with the car A/C or if it’s a windy day.
Yes! I’ve used those too and they help with surface dryness for sure. The RX though reduces the inflammation causing the dry eye. But if someone didn’t or couldn’t go the RX route, for sure the Refresh drops help! Thanks for mentioning those

So glad I just found you recently. I was looking through some of your older videos and found this one. I have the exact same problem. It is so annoying and frustrating to apply your makeup only to be washed away by my eye and sometimes eyes watering. I also had plugs back in my 20's, but mine dissolved through the years. I’m only 2 minutes into this video and everything you described so far is me. Sundays getting ready for church are always awful because eyes would just water while doing my makeup (then the makeup would be completely gone by the time I cried my eyes out at church). It’s also mainly my right eye. It started in my late 20s around the time I was dx with PCOS and hyperprolactinoma.
I had my eyes”milked”. There is a machine with has heat and has a cap which sets over your eye and another piece which goes on your lid and it gently massages the lit to open up the tiny gland holes . It is a great procedure, and it really works. My eye doctor recommended it, and I was really amazed, I suffered with dry eyes and it would cause other problems. I don’t remember what the machine is called, but you can ask your doctor. Love your channel, you are so sincere.❤️

@@MarmaLady__ I was nervous but it went well, it felt strange but didn’t hurt in the least, maybe a tiny bit uncomfortable with the heat, that’s all, and it did help (more than the 3 session laser treatment I had, which honestly didn’t do much to alleviate my dry eyes). It didn’t “cure” my dry eyes, but I do think it’s perhaps 60 percent better, at minimum. So it was worth it. But, I was told, I would have to do the procedure annually as the benefits wear off, after a period of time.

Thank you so much. I have tried this product as the prescription asks and it had side effects because it was too much. It went down my throat and burned all day long . This way sounds better. You described the same problem I had to the letter. I was prescribed Restasis when it first came out but it was too expensive for me to continue. I might have to try it again. I always kept mine in fridge. The coldness felt good. Definitely embarrassing. Eyes constantly run (especially the right). Always red. Won't even get on the make up issue. Just now seeing your video. Thank you for this. I knew other people had chronic dry eye, but the way you described your issue was like my eye twin. I deal with this every day 😢 I had lasik years ago and the side effect is dry eye. Ha! They should call it weepy eye. I spend two hours doing my makeup every day just for my eyes to sabotage my hard work. I’m going to the eye dr soon and will ask about the drops. Thank you so much.

I am so glad I found this video as I have been having this problem for about a year now and did not know what to do about it. I've been taking a lot of OTC meds trying to cure the problem but none of them worked. Luckily my husband had gotten a prescription from the eye doctor for eye drops for dry eye and had never used them. I’m only 3O and have struggled with this for about 5yrs… I love makeup I have a huge collection….. Oh god yes! And you know when you do the first wipe it's game over, because that raw feeling will start but you can't not do it. Sometimes it has been a whole day ruined for me because I'm tearing that bad I literally just want to give up, close my eyes and go to sleep!

I have suffered with this for years...at 57 it was exacerbated by menopause. I have it in both eyes - chronic dry eye along with meibomian gland dysfunction. I have also tried most of the prescriptions out there to no avail... restasis never worked for me. I am so glad it works for you. I am still "just dealing" with it but unless you have had it, you don't realize how bothersome and irritating it is. I can't use eyeliner the way I used and I really need the definition at my age. Oh darn, I’m so sorry Restasis didn’t work. I was told it doesn’t work for everyone can can take up to 3 months to figure it out. It worked for me week one! What about silicon plugs, did you try those?

@@thedeansfry6812 bless you, you really have tried it all! I'm so sorry. Yes, its' inflammation of the tear ducts so anything that helps with inflammation should work. I've been drinking exogenous ketones for 4 years too and when I don't or scale back, my eyes tear again. Keto diet and/or ketones reduce inflammation.

I had to stop wearing makeup as my eyes were streaming with tears down my eyes for years .I still suffer with this condition I’m going to ask my Doctor about what to do .My optician offered me dry eye drops .The drops do not help just to let you know . Thank you SO MUCH for making this video!!!! For me it's my left eye. It won't stop watering and you're describing it so perfectly. I wonder if it is a gluten intolerance? I eat a lot of whatever I want basically and I need to lose weight. Anyway. I got down to 183 in the summer, started at 202. I'm creeping back! 😭 I'm 196. Tired, breathing heavy, everything is harder. Maybe this is my body crying out!?... I will have to try and get ahold of those drops. I've tried several other different types of drops including pad a day cover myosin and an oral antibiotic. There've been other drops too. I just don't know the names of them. Nothing has worked. Someone else said that they tried drinking a dose of Mucinex and it worked. I'm going to try that and try the remedy you said and switch up my diet. Thank you so much!❤
I want to say- 1 week no gluten, no pizza pasta bread crackers pretzels- and I'm down to 191 (lost 5 pounds in 1 week) and my eye is SO MUCH BETTER!!! THANKS TO YOUR VIDEO! THANK YOU! I still have to wipe my eye every 10 min or so, but before it was every minute, literally. I'm going to continue to be gluten free and keep everyone updated. Haven't tried the drops yet. I’d like to comment in the hope that this will help some of you. Dry eye can be caused by microscopic eyelid dermatitis. The skin cells drop into the eye and cause the dry eye. The oil duct distribution is disrupted. You need to use daily hot compresses to your eyes to soften and encourage oil distribution. Wash your eye lids with specialized eye lid cleaning clothes OR Johnson’s baby shampoo to keep the dermatitis at bay. Simple eye drops to lubricate can also help. So, get some eyelid washing going and hot compresses daily...I use J and J in the shower every morning...

So glad I just found you recently. I was looking through some of your older videos and found this one. I have the exact same problem. It is so annoying and frustrating to apply your makeup only to be washed away by my eye and sometimes eyes watering. I also had plugs back in my 20's, but mine dissolved through the years. I’m only 2 minutes into this video and everything you described so far is me. Sundays getting ready for church are always awful because eyes would just water while doing my makeup (then the makeup would be completely gone by the time I cried my eyes out at church). It’s also mainly my right eye. It started in my late 20s around the time I was dx with PCOS and hyperprolactinoma.
I had my eyes”milked”. There is a machine with has heat and has a cap which sets over your eye and another piece which goes on your lid and it gently massages the lit to open up the tiny gland holes . It is a great procedure, and it really works. My eye doctor recommended it, and I was really amazed, I suffered with dry eyes and it would cause other problems. I don’t remember what the machine is called, but you can ask your doctor. Love your channel, you are so sincere.❤️

@@MarmaLady__ I was nervous but it went well, it felt strange but didn’t hurt in the least, maybe a tiny bit uncomfortable with the heat, that’s all, and it did help (more than the 3 session laser treatment I had, which honestly didn’t do much to alleviate my dry eyes). It didn’t “cure” my dry eyes, but I do think it’s perhaps 60 percent better, at minimum. So it was worth it. But, I was told, I would have to do the procedure annually as the benefits wear off, after a period of time.

Thank you so much. I have tried this product as the prescription asks and it had side effects because it was too much. It went down my throat and burned all day long . This way sounds better. You described the same problem I had to the letter. I was prescribed Restasis when it first came out but it was too expensive for me to continue. I might have to try it again. I always kept mine in fridge. The coldness felt good. Definitely embarrassing. Eyes constantly run (especially the right). Always red. Won't even get on the make up issue. Just now seeing your video. Thank you for this. I knew other people had chronic dry eye, but the way you described your issue was like my eye twin. I could not believe someone else shared my exact same experience with the same eye. Thanks for sharing.

I had lasik years ago and the side effect is dry eye. Ha! They should call it weepy eye. I spend two hours doing my makeup every day just for my eyes to sabotage my hard work. I’m going to the eye dr soon and will ask about the drops. Thank you so much.

I went to see my Optician about it and they gave me a generic eye drop which didn't help at all and they didn't really listen to me. So interesting how you mention the hormone connection too. I saw similar types of vials in drugstores but I was told you had to use 1 tube within 24 hours. I thought they're too expansive and not sure if they worked. Thank you again.

I am so glad I found this video as I have been having this problem for about a year now and did not know what to do about it. I've been taking a lot of OTC meds trying to cure the problem but none of them worked. Luckily my husband had gotten a prescription from the eye doctor for eye drops for dry eye and had never used them. I started using them the way you suggested about 2 weeks ago and my eyes have stopped tearing. Thank you very much for sharing this info!

I’m only 3O and have struggled with this for about 5yrs… I love makeup I have a huge collection….. I don’t put much more makeup on my eyes anymore cause I think why put in the time to do alll tht work on my master piece for it for it all to be a mess minutes later. Oh god yes! And you know when you do the first wipe it's game over, because that raw feeling will start but you can't not do it. Sometimes it has been a whole day ruined for me because I'm tearing that bad I literally just want to give up, close my eyes and go to sleep!

I have suffered with this for years...at 57 it was exacerbated by menopause. I have it in both eyes - chronic dry eye along with meibomian gland dysfunction. I have also tried most of the prescriptions out there to no avail... restasis never worked for me. I am so glad it works for you. I am still "just dealing" with it but unless you have had it, you don't realize how bothersome and irritating it is. I can't use eyeliner the way I used and I really need the definition at my age. Oh darn, I’m so sorry Restasis didn’t work. I was told it doesn’t work for everyone can can take up to 3 months to figure it out. It worked for me week one! What about silicon plugs, did you try those?

@@thedeansfry6812 bless you, you really have tried it all! I'm so sorry. Yes, its' inflammation of the tear ducts so anything that helps with inflammation should work. I've been drinking exogenous ketones for 4 years too and when I don't or scale back, my eyes tear again. Keto diet and/or ketones reduce inflammation.

I had to stop wearing makeup as my eyes were streaming with tears down my eyes for years .I still suffer with this condition I’m going to ask my Doctor about what to do .My optician offered me dry eye drops .The drops do not help just to let you know . Thank you SO MUCH for making this video!!!! For me it's my left eye. It won't stop watering and you're describing it so perfectly. I wonder if it is a gluten intolerance? I eat a lot of whatever I want basically and I need to lose weight. Anyway. I got down to 183 in the summer, started at 202. I'm creeping back! 😭 I'm 196. Tired, breathing heavy, everything is harder. Maybe this is my body crying out!?... I will have to try and get ahold of those drops. I've tried several other different types of drops including pad a day cover myosin and an oral antibiotic. There've been other drops too. I just don't know the names of them. Nothing has worked. Someone else said that they tried drinking a dose of Mucinex and it worked. I'm going to try that and try the remedy you said and switch up my diet. Thank you so much!❤
I want to say- 1 week no gluten, no pizza pasta bread crackers pretzels- and I'm down to 191 (lost 5 pounds in 1 week) and my eye is SO MUCH BETTER!!! THANKS TO YOUR VIDEO! THANK YOU! I still have to wipe my eye every 10 min or so, but before it was every minute, literally. I'm going to continue to be gluten free and keep everyone updated. Haven't tried the drops yet. Apparently my body was crying about my diet! Thanks again for bringing it to my awareness!
I’d like to comment in the hope that this will help some of you. Dry eye can be caused by microscopic eyelid dermatitis. The skin cells drop into the eye and cause the dry eye. The oil duct distribution is disrupted. You need to use daily hot compresses to your eyes to soften and encourage oil distribution. Wash your eye lids with specialized eye lid cleaning clothes OR Johnson’s baby shampoo to keep the dermatitis at bay. Simple eye drops to lubricate can also help. So, get some eyelid washing going and hot compresses daily...I use J and J in the shower every morning...
