A few months back, I ordered a knife that got lost in shipping. You sent me a replacement for free - and since the original just showed up (after 3 months in Korea for some reason) I'm kicking the cost back to you. 'Inspirational' gets thrown around a lot these days - but here, it feels like an understatement. I lack the words to express properly how much I love this. Keep up the glorious work you, Cambry and your army of volunteers are doing.
Lots of love and respect from India. I love reading and collecting books. Seeing such an initiative showed me that many great things can happen if humans come together for a good cause. Kudos to Zach and Cambry.
I was one of the senders of the "The Boy Who Harnessed The Wind" book. My elementary school-aged son LOVED that book. He hopes any other child who reads that book finds it equally inspiring!
On behalf of all Kenyans, thank you for all the donors and we'll wishes thank you so much Jerry for putting all this together, budalangi is about 8hours by bus from my City Nairobi Kenya, hope I make it there one day and read as many books as I can, Thank you so much again you kindhearted donors thank you Jerry.
I was getting a bit antsy because there hadn’t been any updates on the project but this video made more than up for the wait. I’m very happy that so many people have donated and I’m looking forward to seeing all these books in the new library in the future.
@@blueribb99 Yeah, those videos are especially hard for me to watch. Cause i can´t even afford a decent mid class smartphone at the moment, and he destroys them all for the sake of testing their durability. Dude, you have a perfectly fine phone there ! Keep it and use it ! 😅
Thank you so much! I’m from Kenya and I’m moved by your loving and generous hearts. Looking forward to when you arrive. I loved books growing up and was excited about going to our small Library at school. Most Kenyans don’t have access to such books and you’ll change a lot of lives! Please tell us when you expect to be here. I’m such a big fan of both of you. You’re such a sweet couple.
1st time I learn carpentry is because I read a book in library teaching how to make a wooden birdcage. I spent 3 long weeks with my best friends, to make one barely passable bird cage but I feel really proud of it. I was from small town with limited access to internet. I learned a lot of things cause I like to read, even in class I rather read something than listening to my teacher. I hope what you did will make a lot of kids happy cause they can learn a lot of new things.
Man, I'm so glad you pointed out My Side of the Mountain. When you brought the camera over to that table, I instantly recognized the cover and remembered the story, but I couldn't remember the title of the book. I've been wanting to reread that one for ages. Thank you and everyone else who donated their cherished memories to being forces for good in this world.
I am from Kenya and a huge fan of your videos. I was deeply moved by the first video but this almost brought me to tears. I grew up in a small town (bigger than Budalangi, though). Every Saturday, when I was around 11, my mother would drop me off at the local public library and for approximately $0.30 I would immerse myself in books for the entire day. In those pages I met Nancy Drew and got to chill with the Famous Five. I walked besides Tyrannosaurus rex, peered down volcanoes and was fascinated by quasars and black holes. Suffice to say, the library was my favourite place in the world… well, save for home😊 I consider myself extremely fortunate; first, to have parents who supported my curiosity and, second, to be in the proximity of such a spring of knowledge. Unfortunately, the latter is remarkably rare in my country. At best what you have done will inspire and equip the next generation of leaders and changemakers to transform their community. At the very least you have provided a distraction and a healthy escape for a kid from the often problem-stricken environment they are growing up in. And so on behalf of that 11-year boy who will open 'Dinosaurs and Other Prehistoric Life' any time a few weeks from now, I want to say thank you; to you and Cambry and Philip... And to everyone who donated a book or helped in sorting and transporting them, and to anyone who watches or likes or subscribes to your channel because they helped the word travel. If any of you has ever been unsure, you've made the world a better place.
About eleven years ago our daughter went to Africa on a work program. She came back and explained they had internet in the school but no computers I worked with companies to donate 75 good working computers plus spare parts to send to them. A shipping company picked them up and filled a container. Months later we re finished a picture of the students using them.
When I watched your video asking for book donations I did not think too much of it. I had a few boxes of science books from nursing school that I thought could help. Watching this video and all those books and then the school children singing near the future library was amazing. How each of us helped these children and young adults with the gift of reading and knowledge is breathtaking. The simple act of sharing our unused books to strangers across the world will change lives and future generations.
