- A project a year and a half in the making - We are finally finished with the Library in Budalangi Kenya. THANK YOU to everyone who donated books and Thank you again for watching my videos. My grandma befriended Philip in South Africa about 15 years ago - and hes been an honorary member of my family ever since. As a kid who grew up poor and thankfully had access to a library that was full of donated books, I can truthfully say you are opening these people up to a new world and hopefully their live will be enriched by reading as mine has been. I would not be where I am if not for the kindness of strangers donating books for people they never knew. Thank you to everyone who was part of this project, absolutely amazing!

This brings back so many warm memories for me. I grew up in an underprivileged community in a small African town in Zimbabwe. Because of my disability, I was unable to play in the streets with the other kids. Reading was my escape. Nothing made me happier or more satisfied than going to a nearby library, which was, also built by well-wishers. It changed my life. Their kindness will live on in my heart forever.

Well actually Kenya is much like most countries in the world, parts of the nation are poor and some are wealthy. A majority though are middle-class(well whatever that means in a developing nation). Food is a weird thing since unlike the united states most of the stuff people eat is grown by them or their community meaning food scarcity is only a problem for nothern parts which are arid.
@@fancieme1359 I am talking about whole country . There HDI and GDP is not good , there are food crises and income there is pretty low .
This is empowering people to help themselves long term. This is better than just a handful of cash.
