NFL is huge in the UK. It will never be as big as football etc but it's the fastest rising sport with something like 15million fans nationwide. I have season tickets for both Wembley and Tottenham (that stadium is fantastic) - I recommend you go next time they're here! Fans from all over the world come over, especially Germany and Ireland, many Scandinavian countries and of course our American friends!

There's a really good documentary called "30 For 30: The Four Falls of Buffalo", about how the Buffalo Bills went to the Super Bowl 4 consecutive years and never won a Championship. I got to go to Super Bowl 27 with my dad at the Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena. At that time, analysts thought the Bills had a strong chance at coming out on top. In the first quarter of the game, qb Jim Kelly got injured, and that pretty much sealed their fate. Dallas Cowboys throttled them 52-17.

I am a Native American woman of the Hopi tribe , from the state of Arizona, in The United States, and I enjoy your "shows" very much . I have never been "Across The Pond", but my father was able to go to England as part of a delegation of "Native American Artists". His name was Henry Shelton, and he was a "Katchina doll carver". He even met Prince Phillip. I am a "RABID" "Dallas Cowboys" fan, and here's why. The history of the team is some what of a "Cinderella" story that was played out on the grit and grass of "Texas Stadium", and then continued into the new millennium in AT&T Stadium. The Cowboys have "FIVE" Superbowl Rings, and we earned everyone of them! I say "WE" because us true Cowboys fans have been through both the lean times when we were 1-15, to winning "Three" Super bowls!' two of them back to back with Troy Aikman. With Dak Prescott and the grace of God, we will return again, and Win, and I can die "HAPPY" knowing that while the rest of the Country are watching Trump and the Repugnican's "Shit Show", my lifeline in the NFL is still strong, and that I can escape the "insanity' for a few hours by watching "America's Team" play "America's" greatest sport. Keep up the "Smashing" work, and Blessings on you all.

The NFL has a salary cap for spending on players so that is part of where the parity in the league comes from. It prevents teams from being able to get all of the best players, especially now a days with good Quarterbacks making so much money, it eats up a large part of the cap which means there is less money for other players.
The Chicago Bears played in one of the first international games in London in 1986 - the year after they won the Super Bowl so that could be why there are a lot of Bears fans and Perry/Payton jerseys over there. Love your reactions!

Bears were big in the 80s in UK because they were big everywhere. They were rockstars, the stuff of legends. The Super Bowl shuffle, the greatest defense ever assembled, a punky QB and of course Walter Payton--the most infectious personality in the sport and larger than life himself.

20:30 - Antwan Randle El was a QB in his youth and through college, so throwing was nothing really new to him. He was just way too short by NFL standards to play QB in the NFL, so they converted him to WR and KR because of his immense athleticism (also played basketball and baseball in college and high school).

Couple of things, in the NFL if you catch the ball and fall down the play is LIVE until the other team touches
you. Sooooo you can catch the ball or intercept, fall down and if NOT touched get up and run. College if your down
the play is over. Also many SB teams had outstanding DEFENCE. Finally hard for 1 team to win it year after year
    because of trades and injury.

Because of NFL's encouragement of parity, it's difficult for a team to remain on top.
On the other hand, it's easy for some teams to remain mired on the bottom despite parity, because management (the owner, ultimately) sucks.

@14:32 - 16:50 what I think is wild and one of the craziest Super Bowls stats ever was of you noticed, the Buffalo Bills were in the Super Bowl 4 years in a row and didn’t win the first one and I don’t think that they’ve ever won one if I remember correctly tbh.
But yeah, that’s what I always though was crazy is how they lost 4 Super Bowls in a row. But if you ask me, they could’ve won one and I believe they would’ve won a Super Bowl the year Doug Fourier started for them, but they refused to keep their faith in him in the last bit of the season/playoffs and ended up starting their young Qb, Rob Johnson, who was a good qb, but Doug Flutie basically got them there and was the better QB imo, but to him being a smaller/shorter QB, they just never give him 100% faith for some reason. But if you ask me, if someone would’ve made them keep Doug in as the starter then they for sure, imo, would have won a Super Bowl that year.

The Patriots have 6 Superbowls tied for the most. Steelers have 6 as well I believe. Cowboys and 49ers have 5. Tom Brady has been to 9 Superbowls and had won 6 with the Patriots and 1 with the buccaneers. Tom Brady has more rings in his career than any other team in their history. Back in the old days that’s the way it was… There were four or five teams that were considered dynasties. The NFL went to a salary cap system which allows every team in the league to spend only so much money on players and this has really even did out. Now you can see two totally different teams sometimes and one Super Bowl to the next. The New England Patriots have been the exception and they were quite a dynasty for sometime despite the salary cap process.

As an American, I'm for the NFL moving a team like Jacksonville to London and genuinely hope it happens. American football is probably the one sport they could get away with it considering how few games there are compared to basketball, hockey, and baseball. I also hope for your sake hockey takes off over there. Great f***ing sport, especially to watch in-person.
Also Super Bowl 31 should have been Desmond Howard's 99 yard return TD.
20:30 Yes that was a receiver, however that receiver - Antwaan Randle El - played quarterback at Indiana in college and finished 6th in the voting for the 2001 Heisman trophy doing so, hence the reason Pittsburgh had a fair bit of confidence in allowing a receiver to throw the ball in the biggest game of the year as he's not your normal receiver in that regard.

At the end. They had the best running back in the league, threw it and lost the game. That's why it was a huge play.

22:40 was a great play. BUT. Having the balls to call an onside kick to start the second half should have been the play.

How the hell is a simple run for a touchdown by Mike Garrett the best play from SB4 and not Otis Taylor's catch and run high stepping for a touchdown to clinch the game?

The worst part about that goal line interception, is that their running back was Marshawn Lynch. Why they even took the chance to throw it, is beyond me.

    • @baraxor
      @baraxor 2 года назад +1

The concept was good--pass when expecting a run that could be stuffed at the goal line and no time left to run another play--but the execution was horrible. Wilson should have never tried to force that pass in when his intended receiver wasn't even in the end zone; if it didn't look good in the first two seconds he should have just thrown the ball away.
