The yellow ball that gets tossed around to symbolise the beginning of the tournament, could be a reference to the Apple of discord, a golden apple that sparked the Trojan war according to the Greek mythology. Another reference to Greek mythology could be the primordial fire that was stolen by Prometeus to share with humanity against the wishes of the other gods, however this kind of story happens in many religions across the world.
@@spolachs1251 yes it's possible, it would perfectly fit with the nation of War, since the Apple did spark one. Fire being stolen is, indeed, a worldwide shared myth, we can find it pretty much everywhere, and it's one of those kinds of myths that I love, because distant cultures that don't even know the existence of each other, end up thinking the same exact things without influencing each other!

First and foremost, I want to commend you in your pronunciation with all these names, you are doing a great job! Even without hearing the characters names being pronounced yet in game (which they sometimes still miss even in the official dub *cough* sUmErU *cough*) So hearing about all the different deities their names are based on, seems like Natlan will be based on cultures from the entire Pacific's Ring of Fire (funnily being represented by the ominous floating fire ring that Mavuika speaks to at the end of the trailer mayhaps? 🤔) And also, loved your theory on what the Archon's Quest will be about! Can't wait to see what we'll learn on the summer event :D

Still, there has been a person months ago, who complained about how I tried to pronounce things the right way, and unsubscribed because of it XD Yeah, I didn't even think about the Ring of Fire, but it does sound right, although in natlan there is African culture as well. @@listvg yeah, I heard that the Aztec, I think it was, used to play a ball game. If I'm not mistaken, they did it in the central square of Tenochtitlan, where the temples of Huitzilopochtli and Tlaloc were at the top of the pyramid, which is also the place where the people were sacrificed to give strength to Huitzilopochtli in his fight against the moon and the stars. In a previous video abiut Natlan, I did propose the idea that the sacrifices were transformed in Natlan in the fights during the tournament, an the belief in war, the cheering and the act of fighting, were the power given to the Archon
ppl forget that the first summer island event was about fighting a puppet that had originally been protecting the people of the archepalgo but had gone rogue. (There was also an allegorical tale of inazuma and watasumi in the islanders and the pirates) but its forshadowing never gets brought up in the same breath as the other summer events.

I started playing during the last update of version 1, but I was still playing the main story, so I never went to the Archipelago, so I honestly don't even know what it was about. I'm holding onto the theory that Mavuika may not be the Archon. While she is definitely based on a Pheonix and can turn into a bird, she could be a god-like being akin to an Adepti. Or if she is the Archon, then the one she is speaking to is the Pyro Sovereign. Who many think is Xbalanque, who said the qoute from Neuvi's marketing drip. And if thats the case, then they may have a relationship like Furina and Neuvi's, except she can address the Sovereign for who he actually is and is actively helping him. I also lean towards the theories thar Mavuika may actually be related to Khaenri'ah somehow. Theory is based on how much she stands out compared to everyone else in Natlan. Not to mention the array of symbols and accessories that feel very Khaenri'an (her eyes, the pointed earings and some parts of her bodysuit resemble the stars.) Personally I think Mavuika's design looks thematically closer to the Abyss Heralds. So hey- maybe she's not a native to Natlan. Which may or may not affect whether someone is elgible to be the Archon of a nation. Or she may be an Archon who is knowingly using her people to bring back the Sovereign. Or she's just "god-like", and the Archon title wasn't passed down. Any of this is possible- not like there are Heavenly Principles to check.
@@pinkraven7043 so, the thing is that the Archons have a unique hair shade and their eyes are always unique, so Mavuika fits the description. As for Xbalanque, when he (is it a he?) talked about Neuvillette, he referred to the sovereigns as "they", meaning he is not one of them, so he can't be the fire dragon. I could think that the concept of being entombed in primal fire, could mean that he's something like Scylla who was tasked with guarding Egeria in the Primordial Sea, so maybe Xbalanque is in the primal fire to guard either the dragon sovereign (maybe imprisoned there) or another artificial dragon like Egeria. The problem is, how did we "hear" Xbalanque's words, if he's in the primal fire? As for Khaenri'ah, I understand that the star symbol is the same as the one on the gate to Khaenri'ah, but if you think about it, that same Ishtar star is literally everywhere, even on the floor of the Akademiya, so I don't know how much she could be related to Khaenri'ah. If anything, maybe the people of Khaenri'ah may be related to the primal fire, so the other way around. She does kinda look like an abyss herald, a trendy one XD I doubt she's not from Natlan, considering who she is, but her wanting to bring back the dragon may be a feasible idea!

I don’t think the city behind mulalani is the main city of natlan it looks way too Hydro base to be the base city of the nation I think it’s more that the place the tournament is being held as a word. The main city is especially with its red architecture and the fact it looks way bigger than it seems to be. The hydro city in the background seems more to the location of the hydro saurians tribe rather than the main city, especially since it is confirmed that when we enter natlan there will be cave systems that lead to the geo saurian tribe so it feels more akin to that. Also I don’t think mavuika is going to give up her title as archon since it would again be a repeat of zhongli and furinas story I’ve seen a lot of people saying that the prize for winning the tournament is gonna be the gnosis or the archon title but that really lacks any logic to me it feels completely irresponsible to just hand around the archon title as a prize for winning the tournament, especially since nobody seems really interested in participating and for mavuika no surprise that there are some people who say that she doesn’t look like a archon we’ve seen that with ei, nahida, furina, and now mavuika although for furinas case she was essentially not, but also kind of was the archon at the same time since her divinity and her humanity originated from the same source but still, she still had somewhat of a archon looking design like all the others I think the eyes were the biggest hint to that and for mavuika not looking like she belongs I think that’s more so because of the fact that natlan was stated to have a new fashion trends like chiori I mean majority of the people from that nation look very sports like mulalani kachina and Kanich our perfect examples because they seem like very sports like people you can also include iansan since her design seems to reflect that of sports too and if you draw that connection then mavuika really does fit in, especially since a lot of people keep referencing her design to being that of a motorcycle and funny enough motorcycling is actually a sport for racing I think what our collective thoughts about natlan was that we didn’t expect them to be so modern in terms of their clothing attire I mean we only had people as a glimpse into natlans Aesthetic but ye mavuika having a modern design isn’t new I mean all the archons have modern design but in the past they were much more godlike though furina and nahida never really had much of a good life design folcalore looked very Godlike at our first glimpse of her and ruhkkadahvata also looked like a goddess in the past as well essentially furina and nahida are more so modern versions of what they were raiden ei also had a change of clothes to her designer. The pass was much more cultural, and had a much more traditional kimono before she was first revealed and zhongli had that other outfite he’s shown wearing in a cut scene from 3.4 lantern rite and it even made it appearance again and the official collaboration and his birthday art and venti well I mean he’s always been modern with his people but whenever he showed up to be a god, he really just looked like an angel so the archons not looking like an archon and the first reveal is nothing new in fact at this point is starting to become a initiation at this point. Talking abt the story I don’t think natlans story will have anything to do with Time especially going back in time I think that sequence when we look back at all the characters are really just to show the main people who are participating in this tournament I mean they all look like they are from different tribes except xilonen and kachina but idk I think it could reference something more or something different OH and also seeing mavuika transform into a phoenix chasing after capitano made me wonder if her gameplay is going to have something relating to that I’ve always speculated on what the next archons gameplay will be but now I think I have much more of a clear idea for the pyro archon my guess is that her skill is going to resemble that of yelan and Lynette’s where she dashes for to the enemies and attack them but after she’s done she has a Pyro infusion within her weapon I also saw a person point out how the pyro archon resembles that that of the watered down pyro slime due to the fact of her black suit, so I wonder during her birth animation if her entire outfit turns white and brighter and that it enhances her normal attack to resemble that of a phoenix when you’re playing as her since natlan talks abt being resurrected I wonder if the pyro archon is aware of teyvats true origins, I mean, it would make sense, considering how she says when we open our eyes, we see our true faith, but when we close them, we can forge our own it’s almost like saying that when we walk a certain path we have to open our eyes to continue to walk it, but when we close them, we can diverge from that path and forge our own tbh since Fontaine had this whole ordeal about deceiving fate, I wonder if natlan he’s going to have something about challenging it every archon quest does give us some hints to the next story of the nation so I wonder if Fontaine did the same especially since it involved an archon dying and guess what natlan has the whole thing about death and rebirth and the fact that the Pyro archon is a himeko exp makes it even more plausible (btw the quantum symbol that you see on ororon is also the same symbol we see on the sustainers cubes in the first cutscene) Anyways I’m interested to see what natlans story’s gonna be I’m definitely going to be saving for mulalani and after that mavuika since I have all the current archons available Evan though natlan is whitewashed to hell i’m still excited for the story But also at the same time, disappointed I’m also interested in the fire balls we see mavuika talking too I mean, it could be a possibility that it’s the pyro sovereign but I don’t know considering the previous archons had some relevance to the story in the past maybe it could also have something to do with the previous pyro archon it’s possible that she’s talking to two different people one the primal fire (dragon sovereign) and the six fire balls (past pyro archon) also since mavuikas name originates from the Māori culture I just looked up the type of weapons that they have and all of them can be really cool designs for a Claymore for the pyro archon!!! @@isaiahhaley4816 Well, Mauvika tells the audience, that we hear, to take their place for the tournament in that place with the huge flame, so the blue ship is definitely not the ring of war. Well, Zhongli and Furina both already gave up on being the Archon, so there's already a repetition. In this case, she's giving all, so also the gnosis, otherwise Capitano wouldn't have joined the tournament. Why would an Archon give up their gnosis willingly? Is she counting on Capitano to do something? And, although it somehow looks illogical to you, do I need to remind you that Zhongli made a contract with the Tsaritsa to give her the gnosis? Why would it be illogical that Mavuika is also giving the gnosis away? I think there are two options here: either she knows Capitano is winning the tournament, so she's secretly counting on him to do something with it, like she knows what's going to happen, but she didn't take us into account, or she knows we're going to Natlan and, to prevent capitano from getting the gnosis by hurting the people, she decided to put it as a prize, knowing we would win it, defeating Capitano in the meantime, because the traveler is probably going to get stronger, especially after Arlecchino told him he was not strong enough, so we're te only ones capable of defeating Capitano, and by winning the gnosis, we would stall the Tsaritsa. Mavuika doesn't look like mesoamerican and I think there's something behind it and also behind the change in fashion, it's not like she woke up one morning and decided to dress like a biker. I will have to disagree with the time reversal thing. The characters have already been shown, so showing them again, with the colors burning away and in reverse, retracing the ball, must mean something. I honestly think Mavuika's battle style will be very similar to firefly, which is just like the Phoenix flying as I showed in the video. I'm pretty sure the Pyro Archon knows as much as Egeria did. These are, indeed, the two nations with clear primal elements, and the Archon is going to tell us a secret, so what bigger secret is there than what Teyvat really is? I think Mualani is probably going to be a 4 star that we will be able to get in 5.0, while Kachina is most likely the free character, since she's going to guide us through the mines to get to the nation, and Kinich is the 5 star. As for the ball of fire, I think it could be the fire dragon, but this could mean two things: either she wants to resurrect it, or the fact that the Saurians exist, is something like the 3rd descender being split into different pieces, most likely to prevent him from coming back to life. The summer event said that the problems in simulanka have been caused by a dragon, so maybe the original pyro Archon defeated the fire dragon and split it into 6 balls of fire, from which the Saurians have been produced, so the fire dragon's power has been spread, preventing its return. In this case, maybe the resurrection is something that she wants to prevent, but that's going to happen again, meaning we will finally fight against another dragon. Mavuika is obviously going to use a claymore. There's no better weapon to represent power than a claymore, and I'm more than happy about it! I mean, the Primordial One stole the dragons' planet, made another one with, most likely, the resources from their planet, took their authorities and gave the new world to the humans, then the second and the heavenly principles arrived and took over everything, defeated the po and killed most of the dragons, and then even placed gods and Archons to rule... Coexistence is kinda hard to get at that point. An original dragon that lived through it all like Apep, definitely wouldn't bow down. The new versions of the dead dragons instead, look more peaceful and willing to coexist, because they were born in Teyvat itself. As for the collective dream, it's something I talked about almost a month ago in the Harmony and Order of Teyvat, but also that Teyvat was supposed to be a temporary nursery for the humans, a world that was supposed to be released in the old world, which is something I've been saying for years now....

fact the gnosis translates to heart of God and the fact nibilung was fused in with forbidden knowledge which is basically the Honkai of teyvat so if they used nibilungs remains the gnosis would be corrupted by forbidden knowledge and the order of teyvat would still be in collapse that the main reason why I don’t think he third to center but rather the third descender is someone else we know niblung can pretty much control all the elements since he’s the dragon king but I feel like the elemental capability of him and a descender is relatively different but also in a way connected since the elements originated from the dragons ofc the travelers kit is gonna Resemble that of them but since the archons also have it the travelers kit will be a mix of both also this is a sudden thought, but this made me wonder if the dragons embodied the elements power while the archons and body more so the elements ideal since their ideals are relatively similar to that of the elements since after seeing your video about the elements virtues, I had an idea if they represented something different for me the elements feel like the elements of harmony (not to be confused of Mlp that’s a different elements of harmony) but if the seven represent that of a certain harmony then my take will be Anemo: hope (yours) Geo: truth Electro: devotion Dendro: prudence (yours) Hydro: equity Pyro: courage Cryo: charity (yours) The reason I say this is that all pyro characters have this theme of jumping back from even their darkest of times and having the courage to still face dander for either themselves or others this can also apply to arlecchino and diluc since they are people who have lost someone dearly to them but still have found the courage within themselves to face danger and do it for other people for dilucs he faces dangers in the night to protect mondstadt but for arlecchino she does the same but relatively different she faces danger to protect lost and lonely children who have no one else but also with her own intentions For hydro all of the hydro characters have this idea of fairness between certain concepts like how even though Candace is from the desert and isn’t treated well by the academia she will still treat visitors from the rainforests like she treats her own people and for neuvillette he tries not to build much relationships due to his job of being a judge because he wants to judge everyone equally and for furina she believed that it was fair for The people of Fontaine to continue living like anybody else even putting her own mental health and sanity on the line to due say and this idea is most probable with folcalors since she even sacrifice her own life just to return that of what belong neuvillette rightfully all that represents equity And for electro, all of the electro characters, have a certain devotion to their jobs and duties ei is devoted to eternity but more so her people miko is devoted to light novels and interesting stories and cyno is devoted to his job as general matamatra And lastly for geo all the characters with a geo vision have a certain truth to themselves that allows them to continue pushing on through their goals truth also coincides with contacts which is zhonglis ideal and the only time he’s actually lied was about his identity. Anything else he’s been honest with he has withheld information, but that was only because it was a contract was saying true to and albedo fully acknowledges his existence but that still doesn’t stop him from continuing experiencing relationships with others and his experiments and itto is the most true to himself because even though he’s not the most ideal leader he never lets anyone’s criticisms stop him from being himself thus the concept of truth though, I will admit this all really isn’t solid and for some characters, they could have the same type of ideal for an element and it might not align with their views, but this is just my personal take
Great video, thanks as always! 0:47 if anything, that building reminds me of Sydney opera house. 18:19 I don't really see those symbols on the Saurians. If anything, hydro Saurian has a triangular spiral, geo Saurian has perhaps square spiral, and dendro Saurian has obvious pentagonal spiral. I'm not sure about geo Saurian but I certainly don't see the lightning shape in it anywhere. Also relation of symbols you found on Mualani, Citlali and Iansen to the Saurians are pretty questionable in my opinion. Mualani for example has fish symbols all over her body and the only thing you latch to is part of pattern on her headband, which is not even triangular like the Saurian shape you assign it to.
@@kasuha im happy you liked it!!! Yeah, I didn't think about the Sydney Opera house at all. It does kinda look like it. As for the symbols, I still see them, it's something I almost immediately saw. With the Geo symbol, you have to understand that I rushed the designs, because I was afraid of the blackouts (and there were 4), so I didn't draw it the right way, it's very rushed. As for Mualani, she has a fish everywhere, but that doesn't look like a tribe symbol, because her pupils are the same symbol. The only feasible one, was the silver drawing in her head (which is a diamond shape, not a triangle, both for mualani and the saurian, I redrew it with both images on screen to be sure I was replicating identically) and that is very similar to the Hydro saurian's tail, just as the Dendro symbol is to the Dendro saurian's tail. Plus, she's definitely from the Hydro tribe, the people of the springs, so her symbol has to be related to the Hydro saurian symbol. As for Citlali and Iansan, especially the latter, to me they're basically the same symbols. I guess we just have to wait and see if I was right or not. I honestly see the similarities of those symbols very clearly in my head
You are not alone with mahuika design. I am also not a fan of her outfit and first time I saw her I literally giggled saying what the hell is that lol. They could do better I feel. But then again maybe I'm expecting too much.

Unless ancient mesoamerican were all bikers, and I "somehow" doubt it, it doesn't really make sense for her to be dressed like that. I hope there's a reason, like she wanted to cut ties with the past and be someone entirely different in every aspect, so she doesn't want to use traditional clothes, I don't know, something like that

Since the Traveler’s kit always resembles the Archon’s (or whoever ends up having the elemental authority in Fontaine’s case), I wonder if they’ll also copy have a version of whatever Mavuika’s region-specific ability is, like how the Traveler has the same Pneuma alignment as Neuvillette. Speaking of Pyro Traveler, the day might finally come where we get to see the Traveler look the way they do in their character icon, which is also how Aether looks in the manga, with the Pyro alignment. I wonder how Capitano’s void face will look in-game. I imagine we will eventually get to see his face since Mika mentioned his eyes, but it wouldn’t be the first time miHoYo introduced a masked character and never took off their mask. I really hope we get more Sumeru-style Natlan marketing and get videos every week leading up to the 5.0 special program. As the most mysterious region still, there’s quite a lot to delve into, and it feels like all the new mechanics will be too much to fit into one special program. Otherwise it will be the length of the anniversary programs.
I hope Citlali is a bow user so she can basically be March 7th in genshin cuz they have the same en voice actor and same colors of pink and purple/blue and it would just be so funny

The traveler, who's not from Teyvat, managed to defeat the Raiden Shogun (with the help of Yae Miko and the wishes of the people of Inazuma), one of the strongest Archons, but he miserably failed against Arlecchino...
I could do with a recap of what Natlan sources have been published so far since I've been avoiding them. We got an artifact set and a weapon is it? And a comment on Neuvillette's intro. A sentence by Neuvillette and 3-4 NPCs over the years about background. The teaser trailer itself. Is it really that sparse? Any books or interactables (those notes you read in place on the map representing lost notes etc)? A little out bits about the Mari Jivari or a phoenix.
The Tawantinsuyo was really big and had influence on other cultures, so the legend of Chaska could be a mix since the name of the Inca "Pachacutec " appears. Also the name Chaska could mean "star" or "tangled" in Quechua. That's why there is a discussion on social media of the cultural reference.

oh gosh i was looking forward to this video. im watching this a second time to organize my own thoughts but i suppose im at a loss now for ideas. the cureent drip marketing sort of asserts that aztec/nahua culture will still be serving as an anchoring point for Natlan's overarching idnetity with the tribes likely deriving their unique identities from the places the charcaters get their names from. its a baseless theory but im assuming Meztli and Huitztlan are the tribes Kinich and Mualani belong to. since the splash art uses those words in the same manner as Nanatzcayan. Meztli's just nahuatl for moon and Huitzlan probably being "place of Huitz" Huitz probably being short for Huitzilopotchli. given the relation youve established between Kinich and hummingbirds, id imagine that tribe might lean heavily into hummingbird imagery, probably in reference to Huitzilopotchli. concerning Citlali, it hadnt occurred to me that she might be named after citlalicue, in my head i just assumed "oh her name is nahuatl for star, probably like how some folks name their kids stella or star" though given how many other characters in natlan seem named after gods or their by-names, the comparisons makes more sense. side note, of the characters that appeared, i think im most excited for her, she just gives off a vibe not dissimilar to Faruzan and i can get behind that. concerning characters being named after gods. its more just a head canon until hoyo dashes it in two months but i like the idea that natlan has had multiple pyro archons, or just rulers in general. i suppose i like the idea of naming people after dead gods and kings being a tradition in Natlan. realistically though Hoyoverse just probably really liked these names. also ya Mavuika's designs kinda iffy for me as well, pretty much just the outfit, though itll probably grow on me. apologies for the rant, this was a pretty fun video

As for Kinich and Huitzilopochtli, the connection with hummingbirds is very interesting, but then again, if Huitztlan is the Dendro tribe, why did they use the name of the God of Sun, which is strictly related to fire? I'm also, for some reason, looking forward to meeting Citlali. It could be the way she got angry like that because she wants to be left alone XD Hoyo naming people after Gods and kings, is just an excuse for me to research other cultures' mythologies and history at this point!! @@amouramarie I think the solution may actually be very simple. Natlan displays various landscapes that align with the elements, but being the nation of fire, it may have a temperate climate, so the cold is simply not a thing, it's just too hot. As a consequence, the Saurians didn't have to adapt to the cold, hence there are no cryo Saurians
I'm quite curious if there will more Yorubá-relates characters. And I hoped there would be a Brazilian indigenous deity related character too =[ (Not that african matrix religions aren't basis in Brasil culture haha) I'm intrigued most of the characters has names derived from high-hierarchy deities (and at least as it seems, not one pyro chatacter).

XD As for melanin, Xilonen, Mualani and especially Kachina and Iansan are tanned, the first two slightly, the second two a lot more. Of course, I know how people think Hoyoverse is racist and is avoiding dark skin colors (although, Xinyan?), but that honestly makes no sense to me. The company has shown how they're working with native people from the nation's they're taking inspiration from (we just need to watch the music videos, and in the orchestra there are always native people playing the first instrument), so I think it's more about the graphics of the game preventing them from going too dark. It's not a realistic looking game, it's mostly anime, so if they go faithful with the skin colors, they risk causing the opposite problem by having people say something like "they're mocking dark skin colors because they made them so dark, you can't even see the details of the face". It's a lose-lose situation, people will always have something to complain about, and if they don't have any, they will come up with something just to complain. This is the sad reality of the internet...

Since it's the norm making light skin characters, how it's normally taught to draw and design, it feels like they didn't care to put an effort. It doesn't *bother* me, but it's like "It could have been better" - but I'm perceived as white, so there's this point. And even demographically speaking, most indigenous people of America are/were more dark skinned. That's why I think it feels lazy: "I'm representing/nodding to your culture, but only as far it's convenient to me. I came to the conclusion, later, that maybe the Pyro Archon is trying to keep the fire sovereign from coming back. She (the original Archon) may have defeated the dragon and split it into 6 beings, that later produced offsprings, the current Saurians. In that case, Natlan's story may be hinting at the third descender being split into the gnoses, probably to prevent them from coming back, being a threat to Teyvat, according to the heavenly principles. Maybe the dragon will be resurrected in the end (the summer event hints at a dragon being responsible for the problems in simulanka), so the resurrection from the title is something Mavuika is trying to prevent, but it's going to happen in the end

@@jacoblol901 i think it's easier than that. Natlan probably has 6 regions, each reflecting the 6 elements. All of these regions can exist because of heat, so water like the sea, a rainforest is usually hot, volcanoes need no explanation as well as mines in the mountains, wind can be hot and electricity burns. As a, at the very least, temperate climate region, ice wouldn't be able to form, there's no room for coldness, so the Saurians didn't have to adapt to the cold and turn into cryo ones
So I'd guess you were wrong about everything except maybe the 6 tribes having a symbol each (but wrong about how that relates to Visions). If so I'd also guess that's one more thing right than any other videos I've seen. This isn't so much because all the deductions are baseless but because MiHoyo pulls this stunt every year. People's guesses are always wrong about the plot of the next nation. I mean the stuff about the tournament happening every year - stuff we're actually told, sure. It's the speculation that is almost certainly wrong. There's just not enough to deduce much of value in these teaser trailers.

The yellow ball that gets tossed around to symbolise the beginning of the tournament, could be a reference to the Apple of discord, a golden apple that sparked the Trojan war according to the Greek mythology. Another reference to Greek mythology could be the primordial fire that was stolen by Prometeus to share with humanity against the wishes of the other gods, however this kind of story happens in many religions across the world.
True, a lot of people think they gonna play somekind of ball game. People really need to pay attention more.

It's both sport and ritual, and ball most likely represents the sun, and the game itself is a war between life and death. Also, especially in popular culture the game is associated with human sacrifices, so pretty dark
First and foremost, I want to commend you in your pronunciation with all these names, you are doing a great job! Even without hearing the characters names being pronounced yet in game (which they sometimes still miss even in the official dub *cough* sUmErU *cough*)
So hearing about all the different deities their names are based on, seems like Natlan will be based on cultures from the entire Pacific's Ring of Fire (funnily being represented by the ominous floating fire ring that Mavuika speaks to at the end of the trailer mayhaps? 🤔)

@@listvg yeah, I heard that the Aztec, I think it was, used to play a ball game. If I'm not mistaken, they did it in the central square of Tenochtitlan, where the temples of Huitzilopochtli and Tlaloc were at the top of the pyramid, which is also the place where the people were sacrificed to give strength to Huitzilopochtli in his fight against the moon and the stars.
In a previous video abiut Natlan, I did propose the idea that the sacrifices were transformed in Natlan in the fights during the tournament, an the belief in war, the cheering and the act of fighting, were the power given to the Archon
ppl forget that the first summer island event was about fighting a puppet that had originally been protecting the people of the archepalgo but had gone rogue. (There was also an allegorical tale of inazuma and watasumi in the islanders and the pirates) but its forshadowing never gets brought up in the same breath as the other summer events.

I'm holding onto the theory that Mavuika may not be the Archon. While she is definitely based on a Pheonix and can turn into a bird, she could be a god-like being akin to an Adepti.
Or if she is the Archon, then the one she is speaking to is the Pyro Sovereign. Who many think is Xbalanque, who said the qoute from Neuvi's marketing drip. And if thats the case, then they may have a relationship like Furina and Neuvi's, except she can address the Sovereign for who he actually is and is actively helping him.
I also lean towards the theories thar Mavuika may actually be related to Khaenri'ah somehow. Theory is based on how much she stands out compared to everyone else in Natlan. Not to mention the array of symbols and accessories that feel very Khaenri'an (her eyes, the pointed earings and some parts of her bodysuit resemble the stars.)
Personally I think Mavuika's design looks thematically closer to the Abyss Heralds.
So hey- maybe she's not a native to Natlan. Which may or may not affect whether someone is elgible to be the Archon of a nation. Or she may be an Archon who is knowingly using her people to bring back the Sovereign. Or she's just "god-like", and the Archon title wasn't passed down.
Any of this is possible- not like there are Heavenly Principles to check.
@@pinkraven7043 so, the thing is that the Archons have a unique hair shade and their eyes are always unique, so Mavuika fits the description.
As for Xbalanque, when he (is it a he?) talked about Neuvillette, he referred to the sovereigns as "they", meaning he is not one of them, so he can't be the fire dragon. I could think that the concept of being entombed in primal fire, could mean that he's something like Scylla who was tasked with guarding Egeria in the Primordial Sea, so maybe Xbalanque is in the primal fire to guard either the dragon sovereign (maybe imprisoned there) or another artificial dragon like Egeria.
The problem is, how did we "hear" Xbalanque's words, if he's in the primal fire?
As for Khaenri'ah, I understand that the star symbol is the same as the one on the gate to Khaenri'ah, but if you think about it, that same Ishtar star is literally everywhere, even on the floor of the Akademiya, so I don't know how much she could be related to Khaenri'ah. If anything, maybe the people of Khaenri'ah may be related to the primal fire, so the other way around.
She does kinda look like an abyss herald, a trendy one XD
I doubt she's not from Natlan, considering who she is, but her wanting to bring back the dragon may be a feasible idea!

I don’t think the city behind mulalani is the main city of natlan it looks way too Hydro base to be the base city of the nation I think it’s more that the place the tournament is being held as a word. The main city is especially with its red architecture and the fact it looks way bigger than it seems to be.
The hydro city in the background seems more to the location of the hydro saurians tribe rather than the main city, especially since it is confirmed that when we enter natlan there will be cave systems that lead to the geo saurian tribe so it feels more akin to that.
Also I don’t think mavuika is going to give up her title as archon since it would again be a repeat of zhongli and furinas story I’ve seen a lot of people saying that the prize for winning the tournament is gonna be the gnosis or the archon title but that really lacks any logic to me it feels completely irresponsible to just hand around the archon title as a prize for winning the tournament, especially since nobody seems really interested in participating and for mavuika no surprise that there are some people who say that she doesn’t look like a archon we’ve seen that with ei, nahida, furina, and now mavuika although for furinas case she was essentially not, but also kind of was the archon at the same time since her divinity and her humanity originated from the same source but still, she still had somewhat of a archon looking design like all the others I think the eyes were the biggest hint to that and for mavuika not looking like she belongs I think that’s more so because of the fact that natlan was stated to have a new fashion trends like chiori I mean majority of the people from that nation look very sports like mulalani kachina and Kanich our perfect examples because they seem like very sports like people you can also include iansan since her design seems to reflect that of sports too and if you draw that connection then mavuika really does fit in, especially since a lot of people keep referencing her design to being that of a motorcycle and funny enough motorcycling is actually a sport for racing I think what our collective thoughts about natlan was that we didn’t expect them to be so modern in terms of their clothing attire I mean we only had people as a glimpse into natlans Aesthetic but ye mavuika having a modern design isn’t new I mean all the archons have modern design but in the past they were much more godlike though furina and nahida never really had much of a good life design folcalore looked very Godlike at our first glimpse of her and ruhkkadahvata also looked like a goddess in the past as well essentially furina and nahida are more so modern versions of what they were raiden ei also had a change of clothes to her designer. The pass was much more cultural, and had a much more traditional kimono before she was first revealed and zhongli had that other outfite he’s shown wearing in a cut scene from 3.4 lantern rite and it even made it appearance again and the official collaboration and his birthday art and venti well I mean he’s always been modern with his people but whenever he showed up to be a god, he really just looked like an angel so the archons not looking like an archon and the first reveal is nothing new in fact at this point is starting to become a initiation at this point.
Talking abt the story I don’t think natlans story will have anything to do with Time especially going back in time I think that sequence when we look back at all the characters are really just to show the main people who are participating in this tournament I mean they all look like they are from different tribes except xilonen and kachina but idk I think it could reference something more or something different OH and also seeing mavuika transform into a phoenix chasing after capitano made me wonder if her gameplay is going to have something relating to that I’ve always speculated on what the next archons gameplay will be but now I think I have much more of a clear idea for the pyro archon my guess is that her skill is going to resemble that of yelan and Lynette’s where she dashes for to the enemies and attack them but after she’s done she has a Pyro infusion within her weapon I also saw a person point out how the pyro archon resembles that that of the watered down pyro slime due to the fact of her black suit, so I wonder during her birth animation if her entire outfit turns white and brighter and that it enhances her normal attack to resemble that of a phoenix when you’re playing as her since natlan talks abt being resurrected I wonder if the pyro archon is aware of teyvats true origins, I mean, it would make sense, considering how she says when we open our eyes, we see our true faith, but when we close them, we can forge our own it’s almost like saying that when we walk a certain path we have to open our eyes to continue to walk it, but when we close them, we can diverge from that path and forge our own tbh since Fontaine had this whole ordeal about deceiving fate, I wonder if natlan he’s going to have something about challenging it every archon quest does give us some hints to the next story of the nation so I wonder if Fontaine did the same especially since it involved an archon dying and guess what natlan has the whole thing about death and rebirth and the fact that the Pyro archon is a himeko exp makes it even more plausible (btw the quantum symbol that you see on ororon is also the same symbol we see on the sustainers cubes in the first cutscene)
Anyways I’m interested to see what natlans story’s gonna be I’m definitely going to be saving for mulalani and after that mavuika since I have all the current archons available Evan though natlan is whitewashed to hell i’m still excited for the story But also at the same time, disappointed I’m also interested in the fire balls we see mavuika talking too I mean, it could be a possibility that it’s the pyro sovereign but I don’t know considering the previous archons had some relevance to the story in the past maybe it could also have something to do with the previous pyro archon it’s possible that she’s talking to two different people one the primal fire (dragon sovereign) and the six fire balls (past pyro archon) also since mavuikas name originates from the Māori culture I just looked up the type of weapons that they have and all of them can be really cool designs for a Claymore for the pyro archon!!!
Also I don’t know where but someone put out an interesting fact I think it was ashakai maybe? Who said that natlan would have been an example of what teyvat would’ve looked like if the dragons and humanity roll side-by-side and honestly This makes me wonder why it didn’t think of coexistence in the first place I mean, surely at one point they could’ve had a conversation about existence, but I’ll got that after the prior one came there was just a war and we don’t even know who struck first? Makes me wonder with the rest of teyvat would’ve been like if they did go with a coexistence I mean we’ve seen how neuvillette and furina words together even furina wasn’t a archon she still was able to fool a dragon sovereign into believing that she was there co rulership worked out fine and venti already has a relationship with dvalin and I feel like nahida slowly working her way through into having a friendship with apep to show her that she can be different then other gods i wonder since Celestia didn’t get the option for coexistence with the dragons, maybe the archons are? @@isaiahhaley4816 Well, Mauvika tells the audience, that we hear, to take their place for the tournament in that place with the huge flame, so the blue ship is definitely not the ring of war.
Well, Zhongli and Furina both already gave up on being the Archon, so there's already a repetition. In this case, she's giving all, so also the gnosis, otherwise Capitano wouldn't have joined the tournament. Why would an Archon give up their gnosis willingly? Is she counting on Capitano to do something? And, although it somehow looks illogical to you, do I need to remind you that Zhongli made a contract with the Tsaritsa to give her the gnosis? Why would it be illogical that Mavuika is also giving the gnosis away?
I think there are two options here: either she knows Capitano is winning the tournament, so she's secretly counting on him to do something with it, like she knows what's going to happen, but she didn't take us into account, or she knows we're going to Natlan and, to prevent capitano from getting the gnosis by hurting the people, she decided to put it as a prize, knowing we would win it, defeating Capitano in the meantime, because the traveler is probably going to get stronger, especially after Arlecchino told him he was not strong enough, so we're te only ones capable of defeating Capitano, and by winning the gnosis, we would stall the Tsaritsa.
Mavuika doesn't look like mesoamerican and I think there's something behind it and also behind the change in fashion, it's not like she woke up one morning and decided to dress like a biker.
I will have to disagree with the time reversal thing. The characters have already been shown, so showing them again, with the colors burning away and in reverse, retracing the ball, must mean something.
I honestly think Mavuika's battle style will be very similar to firefly, which is just like the Phoenix flying as I showed in the video.
I'm pretty sure the Pyro Archon knows as much as Egeria did. These are, indeed, the two nations with clear primal elements, and the Archon is going to tell us a secret, so what bigger secret is there than what Teyvat really is?
I think Mualani is probably going to be a 4 star that we will be able to get in 5.0, while Kachina is most likely the free character, since she's going to guide us through the mines to get to the nation, and Kinich is the 5 star.
As for the ball of fire, I think it could be the fire dragon, but this could mean two things: either she wants to resurrect it, or the fact that the Saurians exist, is something like the 3rd descender being split into different pieces, most likely to prevent him from coming back to life. The summer event said that the problems in simulanka have been caused by a dragon, so maybe the original pyro Archon defeated the fire dragon and split it into 6 balls of fire, from which the Saurians have been produced, so the fire dragon's power has been spread, preventing its return. In this case, maybe the resurrection is something that she wants to prevent, but that's going to happen again, meaning we will finally fight against another dragon.
Mavuika is obviously going to use a claymore. There's no better weapon to represent power than a claymore, and I'm more than happy about it!
I mean, the Primordial One stole the dragons' planet, made another one with, most likely, the resources from their planet, took their authorities and gave the new world to the humans, then the second and the heavenly principles arrived and took over everything, defeated the po and killed most of the dragons, and then even placed gods and Archons to rule... Coexistence is kinda hard to get at that point. An original dragon that lived through it all like Apep, definitely wouldn't bow down. The new versions of the dead dragons instead, look more peaceful and willing to coexist, because they were born in Teyvat itself.
As for the collective dream, it's something I talked about almost a month ago in the Harmony and Order of Teyvat, but also that Teyvat was supposed to be a temporary nursery for the humans, a world that was supposed to be released in the old world, which is something I've been saying for years now....

And for mavuikas design I’d have to strongly disagree with you here wearing leather doesn’t mean that she’s not from natlan I see a lot of people pointing out how she doesn’t really fit in because of her outfit, but it is as simple as wearing something new I mean everybody wakes up one day at one point in their lives and decides to change their style, especially if they want to be more up-to-date with their people for furina I think she was always ahead of fashion in her nation due to the fact she likely pushed the fashion trend of women wearing suits so why couldn’t the pyro archon do the same all she’s wearing is a leather suit and that’s really all I mean with zhonglis design he’s just wearing a suit and tie with some dragons symbolisms on him and that’s all the same is for mavuika
Also I have a different interpretation of mavuikas relationship with capitano I find it a bit odd how she’s going to ask a person like capitano if he “brave” enough to compete in the challenge, likely knowing that he’s ranked number one of the harbingers it makes it seem as if it’s in much higher than the people of natlan originally think perhaps this tournament will be different from the past ones and that it will lead to the actual death or sacrifice of a person competing
Btw did you keep assuming that the heavenly principles and the primordial one are two different beings but in reality I’m pretty sure they’re just the same aspects of eachother it’s kind of like God in heaven God created well the universe, and then he created heaven that’s how I see it, especially since I don’t know where but it said that “the sustainer is fading, the creator has not yet come but you shall attend to the seat of god” I don’t know if I got that completely accurate but it was something like that I’m getting from that is that the primordial one created teyvat they left it in the care of the “heavenly principles” (tge four shades) after some time, and the second who came who I think could possibly be nebilung started the second war of the heavens in order to fight for the dragons but that’s when the third descender came into teyvat and they decided to work together in order to fight off the main cause now it could equally be possible that the dragon King could be the third descender but the reason that kind of puts me off is the fact the gnosis translates to heart of God and the fact nibilung was fused in with forbidden knowledge which is basically the Honkai of teyvat so if they used nibilungs remains the gnosis would be corrupted by forbidden knowledge and the order of teyvat would still be in collapse that the main reason why I don’t think he third to center but rather the third descender is someone else we know niblung can pretty much control all the elements since he’s the dragon king but I feel like the elemental capability of him and a descender is relatively different but also in a way connected since the elements originated from the dragons ofc the travelers kit is gonna Resemble that of them but since the archons also have it the travelers kit will be a mix of both also this is a sudden thought, but this made me wonder if the dragons embodied the elements power while the archons and body more so the elements ideal since their ideals are relatively similar to that of the elements since after seeing your video about the elements virtues, I had an idea if they represented something different for me the elements feel like the elements of harmony (not to be confused of Mlp that’s a different elements of harmony) but if the seven represent that of a certain harmony then my take will be

Pyro: courage

The reason I say this is that all pyro characters have this theme of jumping back from even their darkest of times and having the courage to still face dander for either themselves or others this can also apply to arlecchino and diluc since they are people who have lost someone dearly to them but still have found the courage within themselves to face danger and do it for other people for dilucs he faces dangers in the night to protect mondstadt but for arlecchino she does the same but relatively different she faces danger to protect lost and lonely children who have no one else but also with her own intentions
For hydro all of the hydro characters have this idea of fairness between certain concepts like how even though Candace is from the desert and isn’t treated well by the academia she will still treat visitors from the rainforests like she treats her own people and for neuvillette he tries not to build much relationships due to his job of being a judge because he wants to judge everyone equally and for furina she believed that it was fair for The people of Fontaine to continue living like anybody else even putting her own mental health and sanity on the line to due say and this idea is most probable with folcalors since she even sacrifice her own life just to return that of what belong neuvillette rightfully all that represents equity
And for electro, all of the electro characters, have a certain devotion to their jobs and duties ei is devoted to eternity but more so her people miko is devoted to light novels and interesting stories and cyno is devoted to his job as general matamatra
And lastly for geo all the characters with a geo vision have a certain truth to themselves that allows them to continue pushing on through their goals truth also coincides with contacts which is zhonglis ideal and the only time he’s actually lied was about his identity. Anything else he’s been honest with he has withheld information, but that was only because it was a contract was saying true to and albedo fully acknowledges his existence but that still doesn’t stop him from continuing experiencing relationships with others and his experiments and itto is the most true to himself because even though he’s not the most ideal leader he never lets anyone’s criticisms stop him from being himself thus the concept of truth though, I will admit this all really isn’t solid and for some characters, they could have the same type of ideal for an element and it might not align with their views, but this is just my personal take

18:19 I don't really see those symbols on the Saurians. If anything, hydro Saurian has a triangular spiral, geo Saurian has perhaps square spiral, and dendro Saurian has obvious pentagonal spiral. I'm not sure about geo Saurian but I certainly don't see the lightning shape in it anywhere. Also relation of symbols you found on Mualani, Citlali and Iansen to the Saurians are pretty questionable in my opinion. Mualani for example has fish symbols all over her body and the only thing you latch to is part of pattern on her headband, which is not even triangular like the Saurian shape you assign it to.

Yeah, I didn't think about the Sydney Opera house at all. It does kinda look like it.
As for the symbols, I still see them, it's something I almost immediately saw. With the Geo symbol, you have to understand that I rushed the designs, because I was afraid of the blackouts (and there were 4), so I didn't draw it the right way, it's very rushed.
As for Mualani, she has a fish everywhere, but that doesn't look like a tribe symbol, because her pupils are the same symbol. The only feasible one, was the silver drawing in her head (which is a diamond shape, not a triangle, both for mualani and the saurian, I redrew it with both images on screen to be sure I was replicating identically) and that is very similar to the Hydro saurian's tail, just as the Dendro symbol is to the Dendro saurian's tail. Plus, she's definitely from the Hydro tribe, the people of the springs, so her symbol has to be related to the Hydro saurian symbol.
As for Citlali and Iansan, especially the latter, to me they're basically the same symbols.
I guess we just have to wait and see if I was right or not. I honestly see the similarities of those symbols very clearly in my head
You are not alone with mahuika design. I am also not a fan of her outfit and first time I saw her I literally giggled saying what the hell is that lol. They could do better I feel. But then again maybe I'm expecting too much.

Unless ancient mesoamerican were all bikers, and I "somehow" doubt it, it doesn't really make sense for her to be dressed like that. I hope there's a reason, like she wanted to cut ties with the past and be someone entirely different in every aspect, so she doesn't want to use traditional clothes, I don't know, something like that

Since the Traveler’s kit always resembles the Archon’s (or whoever ends up having the elemental authority in Fontaine’s case), I wonder if they’ll also copy have a version of whatever Mavuika’s region-specific ability is, like how the Traveler has the same Pneuma alignment as Neuvillette.
Speaking of Pyro Traveler, the day might finally come where we get to see the Traveler look the way they do in their character icon, which is also how Aether looks in the manga, with the Pyro alignment.
I wonder how Capitano’s void face will look in-game. I imagine we will eventually get to see his face since Mika mentioned his eyes, but it wouldn’t be the first time miHoYo introduced a masked character and never took off their mask.
I really hope we get more Sumeru-style Natlan marketing and get videos every week leading up to the 5.0 special program. As the most mysterious region still, there’s quite a lot to delve into, and it feels like all the new mechanics will be too much to fit into one special program. Otherwise it will be the length of the anniversary programs.

I could do with a recap of what Natlan sources have been published so far since I've been avoiding them. We got an artifact set and a weapon is it? And a comment on Neuvillette's intro. A sentence by Neuvillette and 3-4 NPCs over the years about background. The teaser trailer itself. Is it really that sparse? Any books or interactables (those notes you read in place on the map representing lost notes etc)? A little out bits about the Mari Jivari or a phoenix.
The Tawantinsuyo was really big and had influence on other cultures, so the legend of Chaska could be a mix since the name of the Inca "Pachacutec " appears. Also the name Chaska could mean "star" or "tangled" in Quechua. That's why there is a discussion on social media of the cultural reference.

oh gosh i was looking forward to this video. im watching this a second time to organize my own thoughts but i suppose im at a loss now for ideas. the cureent drip marketing sort of asserts that aztec/nahua culture will still be serving as an anchoring point for Natlan's overarching idnetity with the tribes likely deriving their unique identities from the places the charcaters get their names from. its a baseless theory but im assuming Meztli and Huitztlan are the tribes Kinich and Mualani belong to. since the splash art uses those words in the same manner as Nanatzcayan. Meztli's just nahuatl for moon and Huitzlan probably being "place of Huitz" Huitz probably being short for Huitzilopotchli. given the relation youve established between Kinich and hummingbirds, id imagine that tribe might lean heavily into hummingbird imagery, probably in reference to Huitzilopotchli. concerning Citlali, it hadnt occurred to me that she might be named after citlalicue, in my head i just assumed "oh her name is nahuatl for star, probably like how some folks name their kids stella or star" though given how many other characters in natlan seem named after gods or their by-names, the comparisons makes more sense. side note, of the characters that appeared, i think im most excited for her, she just gives off a vibe not dissimilar to Faruzan and i can get behind that. concerning characters being named after gods. its more just a head canon until hoyo dashes it in two months but i like the idea that natlan has had multiple pyro archons, or just rulers in general. i suppose i like the idea of naming people after dead gods and kings being a tradition in Natlan. realistically though Hoyoverse just probably really liked these names. also ya Mavuika's designs kinda iffy for me as well, pretty much just the outfit, though itll probably grow on me. apologies for the rant, this was a pretty fun video

As for Kinich and Huitzilopochtli, the connection with hummingbirds is very interesting, but then again, if Huitztlan is the Dendro tribe, why did they use the name of the God of Sun, which is strictly related to fire?

@@amouramarie I think the solution may actually be very simple. Natlan displays various landscapes that align with the elements, but being the nation of fire, it may have a temperate climate, so the cold is simply not a thing, it's just too hot. As a consequence, the Saurians didn't have to adapt to the cold, hence there are no cryo Saurians
I'm quite curious if there will more Yorubá-relates characters. And I hoped there would be a Brazilian indigenous deity related character too =[ (Not that african matrix religions aren't basis in Brasil culture haha)
I'm intrigued most of the characters has names derived from high-hierarchy deities (and at least as it seems, not one pyro chatacter).

As for melanin, Xilonen, Mualani and especially Kachina and Iansan are tanned, the first two slightly, the second two a lot more. Of course, I know how people think Hoyoverse is racist and is avoiding dark skin colors (although, Xinyan?), but that honestly makes no sense to me. The company has shown how they're working with native people from the nation's they're taking inspiration from (we just need to watch the music videos, and in the orchestra there are always native people playing the first instrument), so I think it's more about the graphics of the game preventing them from going too dark. It's not a realistic looking game, it's mostly anime, so if they go faithful with the skin colors, they risk causing the opposite problem by having people say something like "they're mocking dark skin colors because they made them so dark, you can't even see the details of the face".
It's a lose-lose situation, people will always have something to complain about, and if they don't have any, they will come up with something just to complain. This is the sad reality of the internet...

Since it's the norm making light skin characters, how it's normally taught to draw and design, it feels like they didn't care to put an effort. It doesn't *bother* me, but it's like "It could have been better" - but I'm perceived as white, so there's this point.
And even demographically speaking, most indigenous people of America are/were more dark skinned. That's why I think it feels lazy: "I'm representing/nodding to your culture, but only as far it's convenient to me. Let's bring Scarlett Johansson to do a Japanese character cus I can't be bothered to cast a Japanese actor/ess." (I love Scarlett, but the meme is just too good to not be used hahahah)

I came to the conclusion, later, that maybe the Pyro Archon is trying to keep the fire sovereign from coming back. She (the original Archon) may have defeated the dragon and split it into 6 beings, that later produced offsprings, the current Saurians. In that case, Natlan's story may be hinting at the third descender being split into the gnoses, probably to prevent them from coming back, being a threat to Teyvat, according to the heavenly principles.
Maybe the dragon will be resurrected in the end (the summer event hints at a dragon being responsible for the problems in simulanka), so the resurrection from the title is something Mavuika is trying to prevent, but it's going to happen in the end
You know all these references to their names in various random cultures are all going to lead to nothing whatsoever in game - right?

@@jacoblol901 i think it's easier than that. Natlan probably has 6 regions, each reflecting the 6 elements. All of these regions can exist because of heat, so water like the sea, a rainforest is usually hot, volcanoes need no explanation as well as mines in the mountains, wind can be hot and electricity burns. As a, at the very least, temperate climate region, ice wouldn't be able to form, there's no room for coldness, so the Saurians didn't have to adapt to the cold and turn into cryo ones
So I'd guess you were wrong about everything except maybe the 6 tribes having a symbol each (but wrong about how that relates to Visions). If so I'd also guess that's one more thing right than any other videos I've seen. This isn't so much because all the deductions are baseless but because MiHoyo pulls this stunt every year. People's guesses are always wrong about the plot of the next nation.
I mean the stuff about the tournament happening every year - stuff we're actually told, sure. It's the speculation that is almost certainly wrong. There's just not enough to deduce much of value in these teaser trailers.
