$24 is a lot for two sandwiches, but seems like quality ingredients and inflation is hitting everyone. Our meat and avocados are insane here in CA. Also, exchange rate would be just under 20 pounds (about 10 pounds each), I've seen Danny pay similarly in past videos in UK for a burger. But yeah, Santa Monica is expensive in general. I used to work there, and stopped going out for lunch because of the cost!

Yes - macdonalds do an egg and sausage in a bun or muffin for about 3 GBP or so 5 bucks. Not as good sure but I would not pay 12 bucks for that. My brother said in usa you get more for half the price. Obviously not true or maybe when he was there 20 years ago.
There are so many good food choices in Los Angeles. Great Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean and Thai food. Plus the Mexican food places. The city has a couple of good kosher delis. Plenty of steak houses. Pizza not so much. Good buffet restaurants too.
That's a good point about Asian food in LA. There's the intense experiences, such as late-night dining in Korea town, and then there are also lots of excellent low-key places. A couple years ago, when I worked just south of LAX, my favorite lunch place was "Express Chinese Food" on Sepulveda/PCH. At the time, there was an older guy at the wok who was mind-blowingly fast and talented, really fun to watch.
Love watching this guy's videos he is great. He is also hilarious I watched a video of him yesterday where he tasted a pie and mash dish which he enjoyed tasting. There was another dish he had to taste.....salty sea food with jelly....he didn't like it and kept trying to put of tasting it haha. He's a great guy and his videos are great to watch 👍👍

It’s as good as the food I’ve had in Jamaica, Trini, Nigeria, Ghana. Yosemite is amazing I got the chance to visit and it was full of incredible wildlife and scenery. I was standing beside a statue of a 30 foot bear and part of the local American wildlife came right up to me ... "wow that sure is a big one. I hope they aren't all that big I have kids". I thought this is great, the local wildlife understand humour and sarcasm, so I said, "nah this one is a female the males are twice as big". I felt guilty watching the family drive out of the carpark

For good working-class value-for-money takeaway, Mexican burritos are definitely one of the best options in LA. And don't judge all of LA based on Santa Monica, which is an extreme, awkward, and often unpleasant, mixing of the very rich with the very poor.

They are taking the Mickey with those prices for an outfit operating from the back of a car. I was just in LA, it’s expensive but not that expensive. As others say, go to the excellent In N Out Burger and get a Double- Double Animal Style. About $8 for the meal.
Being from the east coast everything in Cali is expensive to me, but from the looks of what you got I’d say it’s not bad. Especially since it’s fresh ingredients and not processed frozen garbage.
I would be interested to see your reaction to New Orleans and good Cajun food. However, talk about going to all the edges of the US, quite an exhausting trip.

Come down to Cornwall, but don't visit those stuck up places like Rick Stein's... go to a back street chippy like Highlanes in Hayle, or Lewis' in Newlyn and while in Hayle have a proper pasty at Hampson's. Proper food is in the more deprived areas, Camborne, Redruth, Penzance not in posh places like Poole, Roche, Padstow and St. Ives! Wherever you are, am enjoying the videos, stay real!

for reference to the UK lot, LA is basically london prices. Think shoreditch 8 quid a pint but everywhere because LA is huge.

Yeah - that's LA pricing though. Everything is super expensive. I could get the same here for no more than $10 - $12.

Bleddy dear in America mate. Come down to Cornwall, but don't visit those stuck up places like Rick Stein's... go to a back street chippy like Highlanes in Hayle, or Lewis' in Newlyn and while in Hayle have a proper pasty at Hampson's. Proper food is in the more deprived areas, Camborne, Redruth, Penzance not in posh places like Poole, Roche, Padstow and St. Ives!
