I like Danny, but he needs to give a lower rating to the shops that just aren't good. He's such a nice guy he doesn't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but he will save someone else a lot of aggravation if he did.
Yeah, he reminds me of Mark wiens where even when you can tell the food isn't good and they aren't enjoying it they'll still give it a far better rating than it deserves.
Well it's not his job so nah not really...
I think it's just awkward for him to give a bad rating on the spot. He'd be better recording the rating afterwards to cut the emotion out.

Got stitched up by the person who suggested it because it’s known as the worst Chippy in Scotland
Yeah man East West Spice or whatever they are called and that other place in Cambletown behind the B&M shop where the odd shaped roundabout is. They two are known as the worst so I've no idea why he's managed to fall for the troll recommendations😂 Greenock Council is trying to shut this place he's talking about down due to the smell so how he hadn't been warned that it was the worst place is beyond me. They are owned by dinosaurs the guy In Campbeltown lives above the shop and only comes down to catch silly tourists out. He sits in the place with the friar on and doesn't cook anything he talks to all the alkies and just cooks up out of date stuff when people come in. I've genuinely no idea how these places are allowed to stay open given their reputation and complaints by locals. I bet funny handshakes 🤝 is how

To me it just seemed a money laundering operation, with the business to ‘cover’ it.. but if they only serve to alchoholics and tourists that kinda makes sense too (but your shooting your self in the foot long run as the tourists will soon stop coming)

For many years the only place I could get good fish a d chips was Scotland. Things have improved again down here. Plenty of dreadful chip shops in England.

Brilliant, this is the second podcast I've watched with Danny, me and my lad have visited a couple of places that Danny has given a ten, love it, Danny's an absolute Legend lol!!!!
Viz comic used to have a strip about an English guy called Suicidal Syd. In one issue he was trying everything he could think of to get killed and nothing was working. Finaly he stepped over the border to Scotland, bought a pie, took one bite and immediately dropped stone dead on the spot.
Just had to stop the podcast for laughing so hard and re watch the Scottish takeaway again!!! Danny u are an absolute legend and all the stuff u been through in your life a superstar!!! Can we stop the war for 2minutes!! Hahah had me in stitches..👍👍👍

It was a place called Greenock in Scotland and the takeaway name is East West Spice. It is well known for being disgusting and cheap in Inverclyde. He should have went to Luigis chip shop or Mazil Tandoori and they are another few great food places.
Imagine owning that Scottish Chippy and hearing his line about the oil change since war..... K.O. 😂

I love this story. That take away is 8 minute drive from my house and even after all that time, it's still an absolutely discussing place to eat from. No shame at all.
Plenty other decent takeaways around town/area.
He never gives a bad review . If you watch him enough you can tell his signs what's good and what's not. To the untrained eye you think he likes it but if you know his show you know it's not the best.
this man reminds me so much of karl pilkington, i know he has a northern accent like karl but the way he speaks and the way he puts across what he's thinking is very reminiscent to karl. what a man danny is, deserves the world.

As a Scot , don’t think this is the level . There’s a chain in Glasgow called blue lagoon that’s quality( famous for Justin bieber going there once after a show) and chippys up north are class too .

Deep fried pizza isn’t like that at all. I’ve never had grease dripping from a deep fried pizza at the chippy. That munchy box though looked absolutely disgusting
Think the description was more directed at what that place did lol or maybe he had just had bad experience, ordered pizza from a 4 star hotel once could see from the plating area the chef de boxing it from a Tesco box 🤣

I went to east and spice up in Greenock, it was so greasy salt all over the stuff.
It’s east and spice I believe me and my dad hardly ate any of the food it was the most calorific meal in the uk
I remember using liquid Drywite when working in a chip shop. Give it a whiff and you'll be on the floor convulsing. That shit is horrid! Glad we only used it if the chips would be kept overnight. Most of the time we knew how much we would need and would only chip enough for that day
Drywite isn't that bad mate. If you don't use it and keep your chips in the water you destroy your oil.
A 15 minute bath is all it takes then you take your bung out your bucket and hose it all down.
I'm not sure I've seen liquid drywite. Always used all seasons or standard drywite.
