    I fixed my nissan pulsar the same way but I found the problem that you tried to fix with wd40. It's like brakes on a bike both ends of the cover on the wire need to be in a special groove so it can work. The actual problem is not the lever it is at the other end it has just come out of the groove so the wire is not pulling the lever. Open the center console and look underneath the aircon hot cold lever and you will see the problem straight away. I did mine yesterday and now both hot and cold works perfectly. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

      @@ksbear451 hey Heather sorry I won't be able to make a video for you as I have sold the car. It was a simple fix if you remove the aircon control levers and look at the back you will see the cables that join the lever to the vent and one side of the cable would have come off the track.

    • @GarageBoys
      @GarageBoys  6 лет назад +3

      SOUTHWEST OUTLAW yes this will work but only if you are having this issue, sounds like your compressor stopped working, make sure your compressor turns on and the a/c pipes in the engine get cold

    • @southwestoutlaw2954
      @southwestoutlaw2954 6 лет назад

    • @GarageBoys

      Well if the compressor turns on, your pipes are cold and inside it blows hot air then your issue is most likely what I show in this video. The a/c actuator

    Interesting troubleshooting on the control mechanics, though for plastic lubrication, WD-40 isn't the best choice, as it can eventually soften and change the characteristics of some plastics. Lithium grease is a safer and more robust alternative, as it's not damaging to plastics and that it's a grease will also hold up longer to use and not drain or evaporate like WD-40 tends to do after a few weeks.

    • @duaneeldridge5762
      @duaneeldridge5762 3 года назад +3

      WD40 is not a lubricant its a solvent. WD stands for water displacement

    • @ryans413
      @ryans413 2 года назад +1

      People confuse this WD-40 is a cleaner like Brake Clean not a lubricant so it’ll wash all the grease and dirt away but won’t lubricate it.

    Either the cable is bad or the part where it connects to the rotary switch is bad. However, if you're not going to replace the needed parts, what I would do is take a thick rubber band or a small spring and attach it to that white plastic finger and attach a screw to the case to hold the other side of the spring or rubber band. That will put some mechanical force on the blend door in the cold position so it will close with very little effort from the cable.

    You need to do what you did in the opposite location. take the housing off and adjust the clip that holds the wire at the hot/cold nob you're turning. It gets lose over time. Very common in Honda's and toyotas.

    Your problem is the cable has come away from the holding clip. It secures the outer cable. You need to view the complete cable. As you turn the knob the pressure to overcome the flap door causes the outer cable to move. If you secure the outer cable it has nowhere to go therefor the inner cable will do what it is suppose to.... move the flap correctly👍

  • @Djivgar1

    The case is that the spring haven't suffisent force to return the lever, so I'll put another spring to help it - spring with lower force, one end on the lever and another end in somewhere behind it. I think this way to solve the problem, because to pull you have suffisent force to overload both springs but not to push the lever with the flexible cord.

    That was happening to me , but with the doors that control air recirculation in the cabin. I did as you do in the video with silicone lubricant, but was still unable to slide the adjusment all the way ( in my case neigther way all the way)
    HERE IN THE FIX AND PERMANENT SOLUTION
    The cables connected to doors or flaps that belong to AC and heat have all to be pinched firmly to a metal clip before been hooked on the door mechanism, these retaining clips are located on the surface of the HVAC plastic cage and usually very close to where the cable end meets the door mechanism. SOLUTION: First remove cable from the holding clip, ( If you're missing the retaining clip you might have to get one and install it before continuing here) push the door mechanism towards the steering wheel as like pulling the cable out from the insulation and hold it's insulation in that position firmly while with your other hand pinch the cable with the clip exactly where it is in relation to the clip. END on the PROBLEM.
    Perhaps in your case is pushing the end of the cable all the way into it's insulation, and then while in that position pinch the cable. Just play around with it. I hope and this solve it for you too.

    Hey bro i think this might be the issue with my ac. Ill be trying this tomorrow and hopefully this fixes it. One thing I'll suggest would be to use white lightening as a lubricant for this. That should assist over a longer period of time.

    I have a Prius C. My a/c works on hybrid mode but when the engine is on. The fricking mechanic told me I need to replace the whole control panel. $800 for all. I took it out myself and try my panel in my bro’s Prius and it works perfectly. I read it can be the blend door but I don’t know where is that lol, any suggestions? Where can I locate what you just showed on my car? I will really appreciate any help from anyone. Thanks in advance

    Problem is cable become stretched it’ll work with a pull action but not push. I’d just leave it when you need heat not hard to pull the panels out just flick it over by hand little annoying but it work.

    I bought a new car in the month of April 2019 but from the past few weeks, I have been experiencing very very hot air coming from all the vents.
    The temperature is high to an extent wherein it becomes unbearable and I have to switch on AC (currently it's pleasant outside in my city so AC was not required).
    I recently measured the temperature and it was greater than 44 degrees Celcius/108 degrees Farahenite. And I am sure I experienced hotter than this.
    So bit worried and wanted to seek an opinion from the experts. Sharing some data:
    AC unit type: Automatic Climatic Control
    Route: Office to Home
    Distance: 6 KM
    AC status: Off
    Re-circulation mode: Off
    Windows: Rolled down
    Outside temperature : 24 degrees Celsius
    Garage Boys could you help

    • @GarageBoys
      @GarageBoys  5 лет назад +1

      As long as you have the a/c off and the recycle button off you will get outside air, that air comes from the engine bay so it will always be warm and smelly. Always have the recycle on and a/c on if you want cold air

    • @anubhavrameshmulchandani9706
      @anubhavrameshmulchandani9706 5 лет назад +1

      @@GarageBoys Ambient temperature outside is 24 Degrees so AC is not required. Moreover its not recommended to switch on recirculation mode for too long. But what is the cause of it? My other 2 cars don't exhibit this behavior. And here I am experiencing very hot air

    My 1999 Grand Marquis (50000 miles) suddenly starter blowing hot air. Air compressor clutch cycling on and off. Disconnected car battery. Removed cooling fan relay. Replaced with another relay. Re-connected battery and air conditioner blowing cold air again.

      Thursday night it was blowing cold air. Friday night it was blowing hot air as if the heater was on. I was thinking that the blend door was stuck in the heater position. Then I read post where another individual suggested disconnecting the battery to reset the computer. I also changed the cooling fan relay. And now I have very cold air. Maybe the blend door motor was not getting power. I will check the relay tomorrow. Hopefully the problem may not return.Thanks for your reply.
