    Thank you!!!! My system was blowing warm air intermittently at stops but mostly blowing cold again when driving, during a tire repair I had Firestone perform a $9.99 AC performance check, got the car back blowing warm air all constantly, manger tells me I brought in with a malfunctioning compressor clutch and it just died the day I brought it in convientiently the same day he quoted me $1200 for a new one!!!
    I asked what they did during their AC performance check and was told just checked the functioning of the compressor's clutch via an electrical test, this video is VERY INFORMATIVE for what they should have/could have done to make my car start blowing warm air.
    I'm a single mom and they're trying to take me to the bank, I'm going higher at Firestone or I'm getting a second opinion about a my AC system in my 2011 Kia Optima before I pay anyone a dime for a new compressor. I am madder than a wet hen!!!

    First off, love the channel, and your easy to understand repairs and methods. THANK YOU AND KEEP THEM COMING. My 2002 Merc Benz S430 (W220) A/C stopped working after I replaced the windshield wiper hose (with the heater wire/ cable inside). The unit small red light is on indicating the system works, but will not blow cold air. The clutch does engage, on then off, constantly. The typical reset feature/ trick doesn't work for whatever this error is currently. I checked the relays/ switched and replaced them as well. Assuming the system may have been low on refrigerant, I filled it with what it took in, which appeared to be almost two full "tall" cans of AC Pro. Reset the system and the air came on "absolutely freezing cold" for about two minutes then shut off again. After resetting and attempting to make it stay on, it wouldn't reset anymore after four attempts. I noticed a clear liquid had leaked from the bottom center of the car down the driveway to the rear of the car, no smell or color, but thicker than water.
    The next day, with the engine running and the air refilled and reset once more, I heard a loud hissing and bursting flow of air or spray from under the hood, front drivers side for about 40 seconds then stopped. I believe it was a pressure relief vale of some sort !!! Scared the &%$#@^& %$#%^&%#@ out of me to be exact. The clutch still engages, on then off, constantly. Whats wrong with the cars AC ????? What would you recommend I check or replace???? No AC for the past four months now...

    • @2carpros
      @2carpros  4 года назад +2

      Hey thanks so much for watching! So every AC system comes equipped with a physical pressure relief valve on the compressor. Once that pressure is met it bursts and relieves the pressure. Too much refrigerant causes the pressure to be too high causing it to burst. So you need to replace that valve and then vacuum the system down and recharge with refrigerant.

      Hmm seems strange since it's illegal to let the refrigerate gas out into the ozone so wouldn't manufacturers be liable for that ?

    Took my car to AAA Auto Repair Center on Tully Rd in San Jose to repair the air conditioning. They told me that the compressor was bad (which I had already figured out since it had a frozen clutch..couldn't push it in by hand while engine was off). I know compressors cost about $300 but they were going to charge me over $1500 to replace it. Then, later, they called me and said they would have to also replace the receiver drier and that would cost another $400 or so. So, after I went back to pick up the car, I looked under the hood and saw a nice shiny new compressor but couldn't see the receiver drier until I got home. Turns out that the receiver drier is like welded to the side of the condenser and has a plug on the bottom that needs to be removed in order to insert a cloth-like cylindrical shaped tampon-looking "drier" that takes moisture out of the system. That's all they did...and they charged me over $1900. The drier "tampon" can be bought at auto stores for from $15 to $35. And the compressor can be bought for about $300. My car is a 2014 Hyundai Tucson. Once you take off the splash panel under the engine of the car and look up at the bottom of the "condenser", on the driver's side of the vehicle, you can see and access the "receiver drier" plug to remove an then to insert the "tampon". I couldn't drain the coolant into a collector before removing those parts so I had to have all this work done by "professionals". Funny, not, how the government will fine you big bucks if you let the coolant escape which helps contribute to global warming but they have no problem sabotaging gas pipelines like the Nordstream pipeline which belched tons of gas into the atmosphere for many days! It's no wonder we are having high, record, temperatures. Wars don't help either. Same thing happened after WWI and WWII..record high temperatures worldwide! Thanks a lot Putin...you son of a b...!!! Putin needs a "b" to the head!!!

    When I start the car after 24 hours, the AC works fine. But when I drive half an hour and stop somewhere, turn off the engine and later, start it again, the AC won't blow any air inside the cabin. I hear something turning on however, if I push the AC button. But no airflow into the cabin. It won't turn on anymore unless the car is standing again for a long time (24 hours). Outside temperature here is always around 30 to 35 degree Celcius.

    What could be the reason for an ac to blow warm air, when the system is filled properly, the clutch is engaging so the compressor is running and the blower fan is blowing like it should. ??

    so I just bought a 2005 Chevy equinox, and have an issue I have not been able to find an answer to yet. On the lowest two fan settings the AC light turns on if I press it, but I can't hear the fan at all, which might simply because of how low the setting is. However, if I set my fan to high, or even the speed just below high the air conditioner button will not come on at all, but the fan definitely works at the proper speed. At no time does cold air blow out. I tried to add refrigerant to it, but it doesn't seem to have worked.

    Good information, none of it applies to me but good info.
    I have a 94 Mercury Grand Marquis. It is working great when it is not too hot out or I don’t accelerate hard. It will quit working and not recover. It is common for the AC to work until I shut the car off then not work when I get back in five minutes later. 134 was a little low but still in the functional range. The high pressure connection was leaking. Fixed the fitting and brought pressures to proper level. About 40. Only next thought is to bypass the high pressure switch the next time it quits and see if it works. Any other thoughts?

    • @hillybeaner9689
      @hillybeaner9689 6 лет назад

      If you bypass the high pressure switch wouldn't it just keep building pressure till something pops?
      The high pressure just turns off the clutch when it is high enough.

    I have a 2001 Chevy Blazer with a fairly new a/c system, absolutely everything was replaced. Recently, the compressor stops altogether and does not cycle once the vehicle has been ran for about 30 minutes. The a/c works great when it works so I assume the high pressure switch it cutting the compressor off but not sure what the problem could be. Putting gauges on, the static pressure is about 100 psi, slightly higher than what was recommended in this video. When compressor is running, pressures are fine, according to a chart for my specific vehicle. Any help as to why the compressor shuts off when warm/hot would be greatly appreciated.

Compressor is working, it’s full of freon, the actuators are not clicking so I don’t think it’s that either. The high pass tube is ice cold and sweating so for some reason it’s not blowing the cold air in the cab. Would the tube be clogged?

    I have a bit of an odd situation and thought you might shed some light on it. My wife's 01 Kia Rio at this point cannot accept the 22 ounce full recharge despite replacing the expansion valve and filter drier. I can get about 6 oz or so of freon in and the gauges are reading 30 on the low side and 150 on the high and anything above this reading the compressor starts cycling. There is some cooling but it's minimal. Everything else seems fine. My thoughts are a clogged condenser or weak compressor. The compressor readings do seem to react accordingly to the level of freon. Any help would be appreciated.

    Great Video. Thanks. I have a problem with my 2008 Volvo V50 A/C system. The charge seems to be fine but after awhile driving the system will turn off, It seems that if I turn the thermostat all the way down and the fan up high and drive at 70 mph on the freeway it will last longer. My thoughts are that the Low pressure switch is bad or there is moisture in the system clogging the expansion valve. I would like to hear what your thoughts are and a possible solution. Im in Florida and its starting to get hot.

    I have a question I am hoping you can help me with. I have a 2008 Buick Lacrosse. On a hot day when I turn on the AC the inside blower will come on high and the compressor clutch engages the compressor and the compressor turns fine. Both of the condenser fans also turn on but no cold air. Here is the strange thing. With the gauges both connected there is no difference between the high side and low side even though the compressor is running. When the AC decides to start cooling the pressure all of the sudden change as they should and the AC will work fine for the rest of the day. This is an interment problem. I have 2 guesses on this one the expansion valve is stuck all the way open or 2 for some reason the compressor has a problem. What are your thought on this? Have you ever ran into this type of problem? Thank you in advance.

    • @humanonearth1

      Same issue. Not sure yet. My guess is it could be the thermocouple, it's detecting that the compressor is running too hot. So it's the compressor going or the thermocouple itself. It could also be the pressure sensor and/or under/over charge. Confused yet?

    • @zookinthe6ix461
      @zookinthe6ix461 5 лет назад

    • @humanonearth1
      @humanonearth1 5 лет назад

      @@zookinthe6ix461 I don't think I'm overcharged. What's was your static and pressure when compressor engaged? I'm 90 static and around 40psi when running.
