Great that Singapore shares strategy with their ethnic brethren to the north.. It is important for China too to clean up the pollution from the rapid industrialization of the 80's to early 2000's.... I won't be surprised if they become "green" in just as much speed. it is already starting.
well done! it's great to see that residents are enjoying the amenities and schoolchildren are being taught the importance of the environment at a young age.
Leif Erikson. It will also get steadily worse as the economy declines because less money will be spent on controlling pollution and monitoring it. And all that air pollution becomes acid-rain when it rains.
+Paul Ryan where is the pollution you talk about? China has electric buses, electric cars and scooters and it looks like they generate this energy with wind power!!! very smart and sensible!!!!!
Compared with Beijing and Shanghai, the living is a lot slower and cheaper. For work and saving money this is awesome. You can easily live in an apartment for 2000-3000元 a month and have a nice apartment while in the other two cities people need to share and pay 4000 +. Some of the streets and architecture, both the European and Chinese, are the best in China. Good food and the people are very hospitable. The slowness is nice for the daytime when Tianjin people don't care too much for being punctual to work and it's easy to have a nice walk/cycle. However, the nightlife can be too slow, despite that allowing you to know bar owners fairly easily and recognize faces. The subway is too slow too. Lastly, as you can even see in the video despite it often saying Tianjin is a breathable city, Tianjin still has a problem with pollution. It was getting better the past few years. Last year, the Autumn was awesome because of the government measures to stop coal and the wind. However, the coal needed to be turned back on because people in other provinces nearby were not doing too well without it. This winter has been worse than last years. I think for foreigners Tianjin usually can only provide teaching jobs, unless you've been given a job for a big international company from Europe/USA. The teaching jobs are good though, but if you're trying to make a more interesting career in China like myself I think another city is better. Other cities are beginning to have a lot of Chinese companies seeking help to expand overseas. This is why I'm leaving Tianjin in a month. @@channelnewsasia
@@paulryan5984 I don't think the economy is doing badly. Don't buy the American media trying to hype up the trade war to extreme degrees. China has done well forming it's own domestic market and many companies are beginning to go overseas. The recent occurrence of Chinese citizens rebuking Apple for Huawei is a good example of this new turn in events.
It is a very big project, thus the challenge is how to get enough companies and people into the place to turn it into a city...currently, it is only 20% occupied. Development is not merely about infrastructure and having buildings cause currently in China there are many ghost cities which failed to atrract the people to stay there...
THIS IS A WIN/WIN PROJECT FOR BOTH SINGAPORE AND CHINA!!! WELL DONE!!!
They do great work. They should both be proud.
Singapore Should Join china To be honest
Chinese leadership is humble and never had pride learning from Singapore!!!!

Western media should show sustainable projects like this in China instead of bashing about flithy trade war
We could do this too in the US if so much wasn’t wasted on wars. It makes me sad.

This is just mind-blowing my god 🙏
Such a great example of how the world is moving towards a better future! Cheers to eco-wisdom.
Tianjin has still had 3 days of over 400 pm2.5 this week. It was getting better last year though.
+Leif Erikson Do you live in Tianjin? What's your experience like? Do share with us!

In 0:58 the two cars are about to crash into eachother. but they cut it out ^^
Ok bot
Awesome 👏
If it is an innovative eco city with sustainability at its heart why has concrete and steel been used on every building shown?
what should have been used for this particular project?
Beautiful well done ✅ the quality of life for your citizens is amazing happy days 😊

Tens of billions of dollars sank into this ghost city, one of many in Mainland China. Has the Singaporean government seen any returns?
My China friend says its a 鸟不拉屎的地方。Remote and desolate nobody wants to live there. How accurate is he I wonder….
@@shortyass001 The actual city of Tianjin is not looking so good either.
Hay quá
It looks very smoggy
are we going to ignore the masive explosion that killed 170 people, injured 800 and contaminated the air in this city?
This city is 20KM from Tanggu, so it is nothing to do with the explosion.
@@ChrisSmith-uw4zm what is your source?
Is it contaminated till present time?
Why Singapore always help her Chinese friend rather her American counterpart
Because they are originated from China that's why helping each others
United we stand divided we fall.
Lets no fall into western principle of divide & rule.
75 percent of Singaporean are Chinese and they will never forget their root or mother land.
Where is our returns? How much money have we invested? When are we getting our money back?
And how long until all that toxic waste begins to seep back up to the surface poisoning everything it comes into contact with?
we'll know when the trees and organisms die, then again they help mitigate the toxins in the soil.
The Eco part is great the smart big brother not so great, I would not want to live there.
