this episode left so many ppl with emotional damage. what a great episode with such intimate and vulnerable acting, especially from Nick Offerman. what a guy.
Per the showrunner, Frank is suffering from a neuromuscular degenerative disease, like ALS or MS. You can see the fairly rapid onset in deterioration of the painting Frank was working on.
I literally absolutely weep every time I watch this. After so many years of queer media ending in tragedy, even their death by their own choice, after living the best life they could make for one another, was so damn powerful. Thank you for sharing your reaction to this.
I appreciate how they gave Bill and Frank's story so much depth, which was slightly touched on, and at the same time still give Bill a way to help Joel to get a working car battery for him and Elle. And yes Joel is a protector meant to protect Elle, who is like his daughter. P.S it's kinda implied Joel and Tess had a relationship, but it's never officially confirmed.
What I find amazing even after so much time has passed since this episode had first aired is that there is still people out there (bigots in general) who trolled the ratings of this episode because of its LGBTQ+ narrative. IT WAS CANNON FACT THAT BOTH BILL AND FRANK WERE HOMOSEXUAL. GET OVER IT.
this is such an emotional episode but the "10 miles west of boston" title card over a location that is clearly in the middle of the woods in the pacific northwest will never not be funny
It's sad that because of the timeline and when the outbreak happened, marriage equality never happened. Bill & Frank were among the lucky ones in this world, regardless of that.
My favorite ep from the show and i say that as a game fan. Overall i love the show due how true to the game it is, this ep being the exception which is also why i like it so much.
I just found your channel and binged the three (so far) TLOU reactions. From knowing a surprising amount about mycology whenever the Infected come up, immediately clocking Ellie is immune and the key to a vaccine, recognizing On the Nature of Daylight, noting Ellie being Joel's "second chance" at a daughter, to various minor observations along the way (and more major ones that have yet to pay off, so no spoilers!) I can't think of the last time I've seen a more keen, perceptive, empathetic, and well-read reactor. It will be very hard for this show to sneak a plot twist past you!
This is by far the biggest departure from the game and for the best. They somehow found a way to improve the story for tv. Bill still ultimately serves the same purpose for Joel from a different angle, but it's a great example of how you can change things from the source material in a respectful way. So good.
It's a beautiful episode. It's also about the only relaxing break you're going to get in this series. Fasten your seatbelt. The rest is emotionally harrowing!
I love "fun guys." Did you consider EP 1 in retrospect, now that we learn flour was the culprit? And why would she go down in the basement? I submit to you that it's because teenagers, bless'em, are kinda dumb. Must be hard to keep them alive in a world like this.
Just give hope a chance to float up. And it will, too. I hope everyone who sees this comment gets the opportunity to stumble into the love of their life. Bill and Frank forever! ❤
sure, but i always felt that this episode was like reading all of the notes and documents that you find in the game. TLoU is the story of Ellie and Joel, yeah, but just because they're the POV playable characters. because, in a way, TLoU is also the story of humanity post-trauma (via an apocalyptic event), how humanity dealt with loss and death. there are so many little stories about other ppl that you learn about during the game that you almost feel like you kinda forgot about Ellie and Joel for a while... exactly what this episode feels like. like, not only we get a glimpse of Bill and Frank, but also the woman with her baby, and young Joel and Tess. we always learn a little bit about other ppl.
This has already gone down as one of the greatest television episodes of all time.
Nick Offerman (Bill) won the Emmy for Guest Actor in a Drama Series, for this episode.
Murray Bartlett (Frank) was also nominated in that category.

"i was never afraid before you showed up"

This such a good episode. Bill and Frank forever! ❤
Le me at seeing the notification for Episode 3: "Well, let's watch some Imon crying..." 😁 One of the best episodes ever in the history of TV.
this is such an emotional episode but the "10 miles west of boston" title card over a location that is clearly in the middle of the woods in the pacific northwest will never not be funny
Your nervous scared whimpers are the best lol
I love the "fun guys" pun.
Fantastic reaction! Now I gotta search for your "Arrival" reaction, as if I haven't cried enough, already!
IMON, I AGREE with you that this is DEFINITELY a beautiful love story, one of the BEST ever written for television!!!!❤❤
It's sad that because of the timeline and when the outbreak happened, marriage equality never happened. Bill & Frank were among the lucky ones in this world, regardless of that.
Beauty of this episode aside, just going in for a kiss like that is SUPER dangerous under these circumstances lol.

This episode always ALWAYS hits me in the feels. Like you said, it's beautifully done, and so personal.
“The Funguys” lol thats good
I love how all these reactions start out in media res

Another fantastic reaction Imon ❤❤😁😁.
I adore this episode. Best ever.
"God help any MFs that stand in our way."
I hope you have tissues 😢
Lol everyone makes it until that song starts playing

One of the best episodes of any show I've ever seen
Love your reactions and voice!
I guess I'll cry one more time to this episode.
11/10 episode
It's been a long time since I watch this, but it's great to see Ellie and Joel again.
It’s crazy I’ve been watching you since Glen got his head bashed in on The Walking Dead
The best love story I have ever seen, hands down.
"Love me the way i want you to"

Really such a great show

...And I bet you thought the scares were going to be the most devastating part of the show.
Original Ellie wasnt so dump! It's only series
Plus, it's game logic. You find an explorable area, you search it for loot.
I didn't realise you were watching this. I hope someone told you to have tissue for this one.
Just give hope a chance to float up. And it will, too.
I hope everyone who sees this comment gets the opportunity to stumble into the love of their life.
Bill and Frank forever! ❤
❤
💟
big boy cry time
🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓
there3 are no happy endings in a fungus dystopia
It was a really emotional episode but it felt weird to not have the main characters "Joel and ellie" on screen for that long
To be fair, the last of "us" isn't limited to Joel and Ellie.

Who would believe jordan peterson was a good actor
murray bartlett catching strays
that's funny because Bill is more like Peterson: alt right-y, paranoid, closeted.
Oh no oh Murray sweetie, honey… I’m so sorry
Probably the best episode of TV we watched that year.
