This is exactly the kind of video I was looking for for months, just a super fun and fulfilling retrospective on Tekken 7 addressing Not only it’s development history but also it’s story, gameplay elements, And even the full roster thank you so much dude

I cope a lot about about T7’s new character auditions wishing they had just a bit more nuance in their story, the way you explained and dived further into their designs and backgrounds made me appreciate them just a little bit more :)

The biggest problem with Tekken 7 is the lack of single player content. Even the Arcade mode is, like, 5 fights. Staple modes like Survival, Time Attack and Team Battle are inexplicably gone. Granted, these modes are missing from Tekken 8 as well, but at least Tekken Ball is back, and there's the new Arcade Quest mode in their place, and the Arcade mode itself feels more complete. I would go as far as saying that Tekken 8 is what Tekken 7 should have been.

I agree completely. Tekken 7 seems like a game that was made mostly for the competitive scene. But if you’re someone like me who doesn’t play fighting games competitively then Tekken 7 isn’t for you. An Arcade Mode that only has 5 fights, no Time Attack Mode, no Survival Mode, no Ghost Battle Mode, a Story Mode that you’ll likely only play once and never touch again and character episodes that mostly do nothing for the non-Mishima characters. Treasure Battle is a pretty cool mode, but even that quickly loses its novelty. I find Tekken 8 to be a big step up from 7 for its Single Player content alone thanks to Arcade Quest and a decent Arcade Mode.

@@MarioLuigi25 Yeah, Tekken 8 is easily the best Tekken game since Tekken 5. If only it added back the modes Tekken 7 took away, it would be even better.

Tekken 7 was a necessary evil, considering Bandai have axed a good chunk of Namco's big name properties. but Tekken 7 is easily the weakest entry by a country mile.
