Best times for me seeing Hype play regularly was in 92 until around mid 93 when he was tearing up the darkside hardcore and the scratching was at its best!.. Come mid 93 when the 'drum n bass jungle' sound really started coming in, the tempo of the music crept up to the point where he had to transform to a different style of scratching from then on which was half time, like in the clips shown here.
Still shit hot but not a patch on the earlier stuff IMO. The man is a complete LEGEND!

92 was the best year for UK hardcore. Vinyl is king! They were making better tunes back then with an atari st & a sampler, than anything about today.
Kevin better know as Dj Hype is a legend when DJS back in the 89,90 couldn't mix never mind scratch he use to tear it up on Fantasy fm yeah there are better Djs than him the likes of Jazzy Jeff etcv,but a club dj he's in my opinion the best DJ in his genre ,like he said times have changed and it easier for a Dj now because of the bpm counter and beat sync Pioneer as changed the game but 2 Technics 1200s/1210s and a little 2 channel mixer. The good old days
