20 minutes of adverts for Tennants later....
Thanks for the memories/music/scratching especially "Back in the day" at events like "Orange" etc👍
The pub opposite the record shop "The Sussex" in Norbury
Used to go in both we knew, bought loads of white labels almost every week.We knew the doorman at the pub they let us in at 16/17 years young..Not really we sneaked in before the doorman started their shifts🤣
But the obviously knew😉
One or two of the lads from the record shop in Norbury run a shop as we speak in Croydon,it's at the end of Croydon market.Still selling up to date tunes, shed loads of classics on vinyl etc
Anyway🍺
Wicked T Shirt!!! Legend!! Big up the Hoxton crew!!!
Nice to see the drums industry getting into the podcast game ! Well done !
Great interview! Looking forward to hearing parts 2 + 3
I need part 2 and 3 now :D love this!
Lads you got a great guest for your first show! Loving the channel so far can't wait for more vids!!
Love Hype! Such a bad-ass DJ!!
LOL.. we've all drunk our parents/relatives/mates etc out of house and home back in the day, but never knew that 'Matches' trick ffs.. LEGEND
Does he answer the question in part 3?
You know what I love Dj Hype man but what he did around 2005 and onwards was the start of the end of up front Drum and Bass. I've been a junglist since it began but ever since he signed those clowns like G Dub, Original Sin etc he wrecked up front dnb, most of the tripe they knock out sounds like it's been knocked up by a 5yr old. Same goes for Andy C putting out all that cheese, wtf is that all about? 2 of the coolest f***ers turn out like this, c'mon man!
2005? It was all over well before that. I watched a rampage vid recently and initially I thought it was shit compared with back in the day but times move on,you can't play 92-94 tunes all the time (even tho its better than this new fangdangled kids stuff),but I was pretty impressed with his rampage set,not a mobile phone in sight which has actually made me want to go (out of retirement for a weekend heh). Hypes a legend anyway.
2003 was the last good year for drum n bass
Watched all 3 parts and it takes Hype 10½ minutes and into part 2 to finally answer, it was a T-shirt where he got his name from. 😂😂😂😂
So not for being true hyper then? 😂😂
Fact he even joked about it after 5mins of original question, yet still went on a hyper about his good old days.
Mate. Hype is that someone to chat random shit with and still get it. 😅
He talkin about shady grove club on Bruce grove 😂😂😂
So hype tell us the story about when you were drinking tenant's....
... Well I got my name from.
He likes tenants lol
Still don't know how he got his name.....
Never got to hear why he's called Hype lol..
Dj hype sounds like a hot steamy mess - from his childhood stories.
