When I was learning maths, the teachers always said there would come a moment when a light shone and everything became clear. Well that never happened with maths, but more or less every time Justin explains a concept. Brilliant stuff and well worth contributing a few $ to the upkeep of these excellent lessons. Pity he doesn't teach maths...

It makes perfect sense. finally, someone getting to the heart of things- how to be musical-how to get out of playing a one-scale boring solo, and how to go to the next level. you're the best teacher in the RUclips universe. great job as always!

What he really excells in is the fact that he doesn't just explain what arpeggio's are, Justin never leaves any detail unspoken. He also explains why they are so usefull and when to use them. First I thought always that arpeggio's were just fun but I didn't see the importance, I always used scales. Now I gotta start practicing ! :) Thanks Justin

I think its important to note that although arpeggios are very effective in solos, they are not as melodic as scales and playing "chord scales" is really helpful as well, like a B mixolydian scale over the B7 chord. My trumpet instructor also advocates designing a scale to play over a difficult couple of chords, creating your own fluid scale that hits upon key notes from the set of chords you're playing over.

This may be a beginner lesson but I have to admit I have been "playing" guitar for nearly 40 years and this lesson is exactly what I needed to pull it all together, Justin you have a gift for teaching thanks sooo much. Very valuable lesson and after only ten minutes of playing these arpeggios over the blues I (finally) get it! Thanks Again!

I have to tell you Justin, I enjoy all of your song lessons but I'm just realizing what a gifted "music" teacher you are. I've been immersing myself in the arpeggio world for the last month but no one has explained this amazing facet of guitar as well as you have. You are gifted. Can't wait to wake up tomorrow and try your method.
Thanks, Bert 66yr. old lover of guitar

Thanks. This was a perfect lesson for beginner to the guitar trying to figure out where to start learning the arpeggios. There are so many places and so many ways you could play this on a guitar and i was totally stumped! Been trying to work on it for months now, with various random videos but none clicked till this one. I see how you start by learning just 1 shape and hanging that off the 6th string. And after you get that shape, to next learn the shape hanging off the 5th string. Im using the circle of fifths to go around all the keys and pratice my scales and arpeggios that way. I imagine there will ge chord shapes in there that i'll eventually uncover as well. Or i'll just look for another video of yours on chords that will explain things as they always do. Its been anjourney of one year and youre really the best guitar teacher out there, despite not teaching me in person ive learnt an amazing amount from your videos.
