It doesn't make sense that the actual DLC will drop on the same day as the controllers coming out because there's no room for hype. The trailer has to drop along with the controllers so people can order the controllers and have them delivered on time to play the DLC with the new controllers. If someone buys the controllers on the day the DLC drops, by the time they get the controller it's too late. This means we're probably looking at a trailer drop in Feb and DLC drop in March.

Only way to make the bosses feel fair would be to impose upon everyone's playstyle by negating buffs and preventing ashes once you step through the boss arena, giving everyone the same experience. I don't think the casuals would like that, and this is no longer souls, but ER; they would want to cater more to the casual fans. TL;DR, bosses need all the help they can get in ER

In previous games, they added some sort of teleportation mechanic from a specific location in an existing area that took you to the new area. Ao you could go there with any character. Elden rings dlc is likely to be the same
For me personally I'm just going to make a new character. Who knows what kind of new items and updates they're adding sprinkled throughout the main game. This DLC is speculated to be gigantic, to the point where it's really more of an expansion. I think it's worth just chilling and experiencing the game again. Hopefully with seamless co-op
I'm planning on waiting for the dlc trailer to decide whst ti do. If they show off some new weapons I like, I'll either make a new character or respec one during the dlc to fit the new stuff

From their previous soul titles, usually the trailer drops the same day as the dlc it makes sense if they're already this far. Practically looks like they're done. Id give it until the end of the month until we can finally play it, hell, maybe even less. Wouldn't worry about it being pushed right. 2 years might seem overdue but you gotta think about the world building and constant changing of the storyboard everything has to be detailed like it was for the relese of elden ring, we're seeing a lot of loose ends coming back together so id reckon itd take this long. In all honesty though for a world building on this scale i was bargaining for the release of this to be at the end of 2024 . Coming out this year alone is QUICK!

The case was the same for bloodbornes dlc, a release 2 months after the trailer. Dark souls 1s dlc released 1 month after the trailer.
