Rig up some air filters for the case to keep dust out if you are grinding anywhere near it those small pieces of airborne metal can be drawn in and settle on the boards and cause big problems. We went through several Everlast machines back when they first came out due to this!
Correction: you do not need to hold the pedal to adjust. You set the welder to the non remote setting.. set your max output and turn the pedal will only fluctuate up to that level. Pedal works well when used right
** side note this was all purchased 2020, except the tig** I have MIG 250, CUT 40, and just finished buying one of these about a week ago..... the MIG 250 has been great, only thing I"d consider is upgrading the torch as when going too long parts of it start to melt a bit(although cheap to replaceable parts); there was some issue when I ordered it relating to my contact info and they amazoned me my unit(despite being bought off aliexpress) and than later insisted on sending me a wire role as it was part of the original listing....... the CUT 40 came with high frequency start, few people on youtube suggest hf only works on clean stuff but haven't had issues going through paint:P..... I don't know when I will get to use the Tig as I have to get argon first(expensive, but the unit itself was currently cheapest I"ve seen up till now)..... up to now definitely like hitbox:D
Thanks for this video, I enjoyed it. BTW your a maker so make the foot petal BIGGER! Your a maker so make the ground cable longer just add some wire to what is already there. Amazon does not list the HBT250P now so based on your review I am going to order the HBT200 and hope it is as good as yours.
@steelcityperformancesaws it will show up on amazon when they're on sale. You could problably email Amazon and request an email when the coupon comes back. Sure at black Friday it'd be there
@etienneolden so far, so good! The pedal is not great but love the welder so far. Have a project coming up in the next week or two here to put it to the test more!
hey friend , i wonder if the foot pedal is pressure sensitive? like does it lower or raise amperage by pressure ? or is it just a regular on off switch ?
I have the same unit but seem to have trouble with the variable amperage. Is there an adjustment that I’m missing or something that would rectify this? If I set it to 125 for 1/8inch as soon as I back off that 125 the arc stops.
@newagainresurfacingn.q.ngu4218 yes just get a normal tig rig with adapter and use stick mode electrode negative connect stick whip to adapter only for dc welding no aluminum though
Hey man i have also had this welder for a while with the foot pedal, but once i left off the pedal and stop my weld it shoots a jolt of amps to the tungsten for a split second. Do you know what could be causing this? Anything helps! Cheers!
Could you help me, I have purchased the same welder and I am unable to even creat a pool. My settings are start amps .5 - peak amps have tried 80~120 - ac frequency 60hz ac balance 50 - down slope 1 - finish amps 10 - post flow 1.5. I have played around with it but I’m starting to think maybe the machine is faulty?
@henrysmith625 how thick is the material? Torch needs to be very close to metal and to start a puddle on 1/8 aluminum may take you 5 seconds. The cleaning action will clean first and then you'll see a puddle start to form. No idea on up or down slope I'm not fancy like that. If you've got the pedal current is adjusted on the pedal
@henrysmith625 I can't remember to be honest, for 1/8 aluminum I'd be at around 125amps, ac of course, 50% ac balance. I don't ever touch the up and down slopes so whatever it came at 🤣

@kodyfabroski9050 thanks for this, how do I set it to the non remote setting ?!

Amazon definitely has it. I'm looking at the add. Has a $50 coupon rn
Bolt a piece of wood on the pedal to widen the footprint.
hey great video. im in canada also i cant seem to find this on amazon for under $670. do you have a link?

@GonzalesIronworks I'm not too sure, with the pedal you adjust the amperage on the pedal itself
can this model start arc with lift ? can it bypass high frequency arc start and use lift ? to make it safe around sensitive electronics ?
@newagainresurfacingn.q.ngu4218 I am not sure but my understanding is it is pedal or button start only
thank you
