    I enjoy matchstick quilting. I find it very relaxing. It doesn't require a lot of thought, so it's the perfect thing to do after a long day at work.

    You are always so positive about good bad or otherwise. Matchstick quilting to me would be the definition of insanity. I loved the 1/2" . It complemented the piece. Always nice to see other ideas. Keep it up. thx

      I agree!! As I say "it would drive me to drink" 🤣🤣 I MIGHT could do the 1/2" on a smaller item OR the matchstick on maybe a mug rug or potholder size item.

    Hi Pat. I have tried the matchstick quilting and got puckers galore. 😂 The tip about foot pressure and stitch length has encouraged me to try again on another project. Thanks for sharing this!

    took a class in Houston with Christa last year - excellent instructor and her books walk you through the entire process as well as her tips!!! Doing my first match stick project, one line at a time….

    Beautiful Bluebird quilt. The company, Terra Studios in Arkansas (Leo Ward) who made your glass bird made the Bluebird of Happiness, Cardinal of Love, and a yellow songbird. There were others as well.

    I did my first quilt with Christa through Blueprint several years ago. I got the kit, followed her tutorials on prep, cutting, piecing, machine quilting and binding. My daughter adored her Christmas present that year and I’ve been quilting ever since. I did have about 25 year’s experience sewing garments. I prefer quilting and love enjoying my morning coffee with your daily videos.

    Love matchstick quilting. Another favourite is wiggly line quilting on my longarm, either spaced further apart or as matchstick

    I enjoyed the quilting info. I have never sent anything to a log armrest and either tie or big stitch my projects. I have done very little machine quilting so I really liked getting this info. I also do a lot of quilt as you go. Love the pumpkin projects!

    I didn’t know anything about the match stick quilting so that was interesting to learn about. I am very glad you mentioned that you need to always start in the same direction, because I would have probably turned it every round. I would be willing to try it on a small quilt. Thanks a bunch!

    Love your bluebird. I have a small one that I treasure. My bluebird quilt is on the wall by the front door. Presently a wiener dog is covering it until the backing comes in. Thank you for the tips and tricks on Matchstick Quilting. Enjoyed it. Also love that Pumpkin Quilt. Have a great day. 😊

    Thanks so much for showing your Matchstick quilting! It's nice to see another way to quilt smaller projects myself! It's nice to have Helpful Hints too. I saw a pillow once at trunk show and she started in the middle and circled around to the outside about 3/4" apart that was really nice.

    Thankyou for the tips on channel quilting. Very helpful. 🫶👍I had read to change direction when doing straight line quilting. It created so much puckering, even with the walking foot, that I was reluctant to try it again. Also scared me off of using walking foot. Your tip of doing all lines in same direction, and seeing the results has encouraged me to attempt it again. ❤🧡❤ Love your videos and tips. My mornings start with coffee ☕️ and your video. It gives me something fun to get me out of bed!

    I did channel quilting on a medium sized wall hanging and loved the way it turned out. Thank you for all the tips that I will put to use the next time. It does take longer than other methods, but it also gives you time to think about other things. Thank you for all you share with us to make us better quilters.

    I love the way the channel stitching looks. I was not successful when I tried it years ago but I was going down then back up. Exactly what you said not to do. Now I know why it was puckering so much. Thanks Pat!

    I am so glad you showed the channel and matchstick quilting. I am just venturing into quilting with my piecing machine and needed some new ideas for quilting. I also have a Babylock, older model than yours and am glad to know there is an open toed walking foot available. Great video as always.

    I’m attracted to the matchstick quilting. I’ll have to try it on a small quilt. ADHD is likely to kick in and them make the process a drag. I sure appreciate the troubleshooting you do and the advice you share.

    Yes very interesting Pat. I haven’t tried matchstick quilting myself yet but very keen to give it a go. The tips about the cotton thread, the longer stitch length and reducing the pressure foot were probably gold nuggets. Thanks, I learn something new every day.

    Love hearing about matchstick quilting! Have done straight line quilting about 1/2” apart. I like using adjustable guide that came with walking foot.

    I am visiting my oldest daughter and she asked, "What are the quilts called that are one piece of fabric with straight lines of quilting from top to bottom?" And a few minutes later you were teaching about straight-line quilting!! She is going to choose the fabrics for the front and back and ship them to me...that will be her next quilt :) THAN YOU, PAT!!

    Your Little Blue Bird quilt is so cute in your pretty Birdsong fabric. The glass bluebird that Sandra sent you is precious. I'm afraid that the Blue Bird quilt that I started for my niece and nephew when you started yours has turned into a UFO. **sigh** I have all the blocks made for a bed size quilt, just need to pull them out and get it finished.
    Oh my gosh, Pat. You're doing a super job and quite courageous to tackle matchstick quilting. Looks nice. I've never done it--my lines would be all over the place. 🤣

    I self taught myself on walking foot quilting. I bought some books but I never tried the channel quilting. It looks interesting!
