It shows that the demons even feared Himmel in his old age. The manga did show a panel of the elder Himmel defeating a monster with alone with just his cane.
I think what makes Himmel character so good is because most of the time he's portraited through Frieren's memories. A hero with absolutely no dead spots, also an absolute beast of a warrior. Got a lil' bit of superstardom syndrome but somehow it added up to his overall charm. And we also have a reality check of him as well, in the battle with the demon that creates manipulative spirit clone. He's too righterous and pure that even the supposed-to-be manipulative version of him just straight up told Frieren to blast xD I love Himmel character so much.
Himmel is the type of character that I freaking wish more hero characters would be. I don’t mind an underdog story, but I am so tired of the underdog always getting what they want because we feel sorry for them or because the author decides to. Himmel the type of character that was desperately needed for me because for me, heroes have been nothing more than just self-insure characters who only becomes nice just to get some nice pair of ladies onto them instead of being inspirational people who want to help others because it is the right thing to do not because they get rewarded.
Also he has a personality, he is vain, he likes attention, he's self confident and doesn't doubt himself excessively. He has the confidence of a real hero not a reluctant one.
I love Himmel so much, unlike other anime where the hero is just too powerful it becomes boring. Himmel was a mere human with no super power; it was his conviction, kindness and selflessness that everyone still looks up to him even after he is long gone.
@@nhattylitemedia while I understand what he means I don't think Himmel had the luxury of waiting for Frieren any longer than he already had. He died waiting for her.
Throughout the series, I always felt there was something off about Himmel. He always seemed like he was the MC in a Dragon Quest game, as if all of his actions were controlled by a player outside the game. Everyone else seems real, fully fleshed out, and in many cases more real than real humans. But Himmel is almost 2 dimensional by comparison, similar to a silent protagonist in an old school JRPG. I'm not saying he's a bad character. In fact, I can't really list many true flaws in this series. I'm simply stating that I feel he was being controlled by outside forces, such as a player of a game from another world.
Amazing video...but maybe try to add just a little more emotion into your voice? At times it felt almost as if you were just reading off the script... But loved the content.
Omg thank you for the feedback! Yeah honestly recording is always the toughest part for me. I try so hard to annunciate everything correctly that it turns a little robotic. I’ll keep trying to improve though!
I 100% agree that frieren will learn to work with a demon, or to see demons as individuals . Himmel has been right with everything he’s said, and for a story that is based around love and compassion - the demons are very much hated . And it doesn’t seem to me that would be the message at the end of the story
@@nhattylitemedia well who knows maybe yes maybe no to everyone it the sword to beat the demon king but to himmel someone great like him he only view the hero sword like a normal sword and don't even sad when he can't pull it out but for me the sword who worthy being a hero sword is the sword himmel used since he started his journey to when he defeat the demon king that is the true "hero sword"
He is too perfect. In real life, everyone has flaws and undesirable traits. What tells a good story of the human spirit is that of an willingness to confront and overcame one's weakness, to succeed despite the flaws, and more importantly, to keep on the struggle despite the never ending failures. We are a product of failures and only through failures do our best qualities manifest themselves and our worst get back into a corner and conquered. True hero is not a story of an all perfect angelic being who's blessed with the god like power of omnipotence and omnibenevolnce, in fact, quite the opposite. It is failures, mistakes, but ultimately perseverance and growth.
Let me know who you think is the most heroic anime character!
naruto
"demons began acting up after the passing of the hero himmel" 😭😭 bro was the demon under the bed of the demons
It’s crazy to think that he might be forgotten one day too. Like who knows how strong the elf Kraft was

I LOVE that scene. Imagine being that good hearted that your evil fake version still does the righteous thing

I 100% agree! God he’s such an amazing character. The fact he can have this time of impact with such little screen time is astonishing
You should've seen anti heroes

He’s honestly a great character to aspire towards
We love to hear a good hero story. What an inspirational character!
Honestly I aspire to be like him
Alls I’m saying is he loved her too soon and she loved him too late 😭😭😭
It really is such a tragic story
What do you mean he loved her too soon? He died of old age loving her. How much later should he have loved her 😂
@@amsd1231 haha he probably meant he loved her at a time that was way before she could realize what her feelings for him were

@@amsd1231 100% agree. Man literally couldn’t wait any longer. He even went his whole life without marrying someone else too
Himmel seems to be a real stand up guy.. 💯
He’s a great guy
Himmel is proof that you can be an absolute stud and still fumble the bag with women
The goddess had to nerf him even more
It's freiren that fumbled not him
Himmel is best boy
By far. Stark, Eisen, and Heiter are fighting for second

Himmel is my new Hero 🤩
Make video about hero of the South . The strongest hero in freiren.
The more I learn about him in the manga the more I love him! Honestly he’s definitely someone I’m interested in making a video on
Another fun fact:
When HIMmel was alive, no country in their continent ever dared to wage a major war.

My favorite hero is Ken Kitano from Sun Ken Rock. He is the man
He’s one of the GOATs! No one can stop him when he sets a goal

I also agree, although I don’t mind if the author doesn’t do this. But I feel like they went out of their way to show there is something in demons.

Nah demons and humans can’t get along. They’re complete sociopaths.
Who knows maybe one day. I definitely want to learn more about the demon king
Most heroic gotta be saitama 😂
Mr Caped Baldy 🔛🔝
Himmel's pronouns are He's/Him.
He really is that guy. Never have I liked a character with such little screen time
