Windmills will never put out the power these places put out. Won't be as reliable either. It's all a scam. People will eventually regret shutting these plants down.
Brilliant video of unit 1 walking onto unit 2 there. Worked on the operations at fiddlers for 14 yrs and would go back tomorrow in a heartbeat. Sad to see the place in such a sorry state now 😢
We've lost some fabulous power stations built during the CEGB days, flogged off to the highest bidder then zero investment, now abandoned due to net zero lunacy.
One unit closed in 2019, reducing capacity to 1.51 GW. In June 2019, SSE announced that the power station would be permanently turned off and decommissioned by 31 March 2020. On 31 March 2020, the plant was desynchronized from the National Grid, ending nearly 50 years of electricity generation.
And they still think this can be replaced with a few wind turbines watch me 😃 smile and 👋 wave.

They are all morons. Smart Motorways proves that.

Worked for the board 🤣😅 . You would go back as the contractors did All the work .
would you know where to find drawing plans/elevations of the station?

You did well to avoid any security. Surprised they do not have 24hour surveillance still in place. Great video.
Should never have been decommissioned. I Dont give a toss what the loonie greens think
Lost count of the number of outages I worked on there.
Great ££££, damn hard work, great team of lads.
